Yep, cheap and easy. Definitely not for long distances.

This is awesome, one thing that would make it GOODER is throwing another bungee over the top to secure the rods even more when driving

Thanks! I only suggest doing this when you get to the river, so short trips between fishing holes. A second bungee isn’t necessary, I’ve been doing this for years, no issues with wear spots on my rods or line. 🎣

Thanks! It’s worked for me for years. I wouldn’t drive any distance like that though. Just running between holes. 🎣

Thanks! I’ve been using that system for awhile. I used to mount rod holders on the lip of my tailgate, but that doesn’t work as well.

Thanks! Pretty simple and protects the rods for short rides. I hate breaking down rods between fishing spots.

@@RAGEFISHING heck yea, the most I drive with my rods in the back to a spot is about an hour and this method is super convenient and like you said, simple. Especially now that I’ve managed to get some decent equipment, the last thing I want to find is a rod that’s been snapped in my tailgate. This is definitely going on my truck when I get home 👍

Sweet! I recently saw a post on one of the forums asking about truck rod racks so I made this quick video. I’ve used this system for years, it works well and it’s cheap. Thanks for the feedback!

Not having to breakdown rods every time you move would be nice. Thanks for sharing

At one point I had rod racks screwed to the lip of my tailgate, but the angle was too steep, so it didn’t work well. Plus I didn’t like drilling holes in my new trucks! 😁
