Awesome! I made this video after several folks asked about my rod wraps and ties. I’m glad it helped!
Those fishing butlers are working great on my 2 piece 10' crappie rods! Keeps them nicely secure and tidy.

Glad they’re working out! They are the best ones I’ve found. I like the little foam pad protecting the rods from the plastic portion. 👍🏻
I used 2 hair ties that my 5 year old daughter uses they worked perfect
Very useful tip! Good for spinners and spoons too.

Yes, and will prevent hooks stuck in your seat! I once had to cut a bass crank bait out of my seat. 😁
Great tips. The hardest thing for me is to not misplace all those stuff after I take them off.

I normally stick them in that door pocket in my truck, even I misplaced them. 😁 I probably have 30 sets of those rod ties. I store all my 2 piece rods with them installed.
Ever try adding a twist in the rod butler tie before you add the 2nd rod? I like to do this to avoid "rod rub" on expensive blanks/rods. Usually, I just use hair bands and do multiple wraps on the anchor rod, which is the first rod you wrap the loop around, and that makes for a happy rod with a bumper between things. If i have a weight on it which I usually do, I use one of those 3/4" neoprene rod wraps to secure the weight. 1 wrap around the blank then the weight shoved in. Usually, its near the butt-end section. I tend to go tip down and connections together but thats me. I was told that the butt-section protects the tip (Keep the tip higher than the lowest part of the butt section for this to be true) but also, it seems to sit together nicer if you look at the physics of the rods when laying together. The neoprene rod wrap is the middle man which acts as the middle bumper so nothing ever touches. If you didn't have that piece, you would have a middle wobble and then rubbing and sound.. (Its annoying when your driving and you get that rod rattle) 👌

I’ll start with your first question, no I don’t add a wrap. I’ve been using this system for years and have never noticed any wear. I don’t like tip down because that’s the weakest point, which I’m normally fishing solo so my rods ride in my truck like you see in the video. I cringe at the thought of my rod tips facing down. 😬
Do all fishing rods go into two pieces

@@eddieapatino7039 all of my steelhead and salmon rods do. My bass rods are one piece, but are much shorter.
What is the name of these rods? Thanks.

They are G.Loomis E6X 1143-2S and 1145-2S steelhead rods.
Question: do / should I disconnect the 2 pieces when not fishing ? Or can I leave them connected all the time since I can fit in car as is 7 foot...? Can I leave all my 2 piece rods connected ....? Or recommendation is to always disengage them ? Please advise

If they fit, leave them together. My steelhead rods are 8.5 - 10.5 feet in length.

@@RAGEFISHING thank you! Btw, they never go in all the way , I heard it's normal? Always like half of inch more space . I have been addicted to the JDM 2 piece rods such as the Shimano World Shaula lol..
