🛑 **Stop Stretching Your Hamstrings for Sciatica Pain Relief! Do This Instead!**:
Are you tired of battling sciatica pain with ineffective stretches? It's time to change your approach! In this video, we debunk the myth of using hamstring stretches for sciatica relief and introduce a better solution. Say goodbye to frustration and hello to effective sciatica pain management with these targeted exercises!
🤔 **What Is Sciatica?**:
Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve, typically affecting one side of the body. This pain can range from mild discomfort to excruciating sensations, often accompanied by numbness, tingling, or weakness in the leg. Sciatica is commonly caused by compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve, often due to a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, or piriformis syndrome.
❌ **Why Hamstring Stretches Don't Help Sciatica**:
Contrary to popular belief, stretching the hamstrings may not effectively address sciatica pain. While tight hamstrings can contribute to discomfort, they are a SYMPTOM of the problem, not the primary cause of the nerve irritation. In fact, excessive stretching of the hamstrings can exacerbate sciatica by placing additional strain on the lower back and aggravating underlying spinal issues. It's time to ditch the ineffective stretches and focus on targeted exercises that address the root cause of sciatic pain.
💪 **Best Exercises for Sciatic Pain Relief**:
Ready to experience lasting relief from sciatica? Join us as we explore a series of gentle yet powerful exercises designed to alleviate sciatic nerve pain and improve mobility. What about stretching the hamstrings when you have spondyloisthesis? Every PT I have been to wants me to stretch them as they are very tight and say that they can worsen my condition if left go. However, stretching them does not seem to go very well. Please advise and thank you.

Thank you so very much, these videos are so helpful and lifegiving. This morning at the gym I did the Cobra and some exercises you recommend to strengthen muscles and prevent sciatic nerve pain. I also use two pillows in bed under my knees when I am on my back reading. I can not sleep with the pillows yet, but I am trying to. I am following your videos and doing the exercises and it works ! Thank you ! 🙏

I’m having PT for sciatica issues and that first stretch (the one in the pic) feels like I’m ripping up my butt muscles. Hamstrings barely react. 2 months into PT, I can only confirm what you’re saying : I now do the exercises without pain but…I still can’t walk. That Still Hurts like the first day. Conclusion : exercises are useless to alleviate pain but Yes they do make the muscles better. Then, PT added the dead bug. I’m overweight. Dead bug Multiplies the effect of my legs being heavier than someone else’s. It really reminds me of gym classes in my youth. A real trauma, I now realize. I try doing the dead bug and I’m super Angry for the rest of the day. When are those exercises finally going to be adapted to a person’s weight ? Never I guess. My youth was 50 years ago.
Hlw sir I want to ask you a question. I am suffering from cervical disc bulge problem and I am now recovering slowly . And my question is that after I recover totally and I have no nerve problems and neck pain . Can I back to play sports again?? I am a sports lover and I basically play cricket. So my question is that after my total recovery can I play sports again ??

7:16 'effective leg' do you mean the one experiencing the pain or the one without it. I tried it with the one with pain but could barely get any motion going before the symptoms flared up even in the resting position. I tried it with the other leg, the one without the symptom pain, and i could feel a good stretch affecting my lower back.

How sciatica is detected? I have been suffering from lower back pain on left side and physiotherapy session along with muscle relaxing medicines gives me temporary relief.

What if I do all these stretches for my sciatica, but my hamstring/glutes/piriformis just feels so tight it cause the pain. All throughout the leg to the heels? Could this be entrapment or an adhesion of the nerve?
