Having him be a jet feels better, imagine a giant ass space shuttle attach to a little combat vehicle. Not to mention how bad Brawl and Swindle would be out of scale.

Well it's four years later, but let's go with it anyways I do dig that Blast Off is a jet it does make sense with the whole combat/military thing and also gotten the shuttle version of Blast Off as well because why not more limbs for Bruticus. And also for jet Blast Off I did order myself a Renderform head for him and his blaster and I'm glad to have that.

Funny i always thought that blastoff as a military shuttle was a bit dumb , but i guess it was the 80's so anything is possible :P , the fireflight head sure works better than the slingshot head , it definitely raises questions about who came first Slingshot or Fireflight , but i guess it's another riddle about the chicken and the egg XD

I'm actually convinced it's Quickslinger. you should check out camzilla51's video on Combiner Wars Ratchet. The First Aid mold was actually intended to be Ratchet, and for every First Aid made there was a discarded Ratchet head

I wouldn't have gotten Bruticus if he was a space shuttle. Having him as a jet is just flat-out better. I have no nostalgic connection to the original toy or cartoon, I just wanted a cool robot toy. They are the Combaticons. They transform into combat vehicles. Space shuttles are not combat vehicles. Even as a kid, that would have been a stretch for my imagination. Having him be a jet makes sense and is an improvement, in my opinion.

If your talking about foc that doesn't Realy count as a shuttle its a cybertron altmode not earthbased

For an accurate head have you tried alpha bravo's head sculpt? It looks similar to first aid's face and in turn blastoff.

I love you're reviews! :D Too bad I can't invest my money in spare bots to replace the head etc, but still, I admire your creativity when customizing the figs! :)

Were you running this review on a Dolphin Emulator? Looks like you're using the HD Texture pack for Blast Off. The resolution on the head and the cleaned up look all around gives off that impression to me

I love the review, I wanted a shuttle, but didn't want to shell out for the upgrades or a figure so I just used some molding putty and formed it about the cock pit. I didn't mess with the wings so I kept them. And to go with the head paint, were the paints completely dry, or what type of clear gloss do you use because that can affect the paints from bleeding

that explains it. I never used Enamel paints. those are always tougher to deal with so I use acrylic paints.

This is 150% why I skipped bruitcus. Not only is this guy not a shuttle, the mold they used instead is my absolute least liked CW jet mold. The harrier never looked good to me no matter what media I've seen it in, and the robot mode looks almost nothing like Blast Off anyway. Also while I do get the whole "Shuttle not a combat vehicle" thing, I have a couple of couterpoints. #1 IIRC the Space shuttle design was a US military design project, and they still make space plane drones based off the concept. #2 as demonstrated(rather poorly on Movor's part) Tactical Orbital strikes can add a lot to a precision combat unit like the combaticons/commandos. True it puts him out of range of his comrades when combination needs to happen, but I'd like to believe Bruticus would be a last resort scenario where the shuttle guy would already have made orbital descent by the time it was needed.

Time, budget constraints, and inevitable exclusive redecos have forced me to put off UW Bruticus in favor of UW Baldigus.

I'm one of those guys that went the Shapeways (first model you showed) route and modded him and Vortex. Adding PE upgrades and well, the team and Bruticus is the star of all those combiners on my shelf.

blast off is my favorite combaticon well if u include bruticus then bruticus is my favorite combaticon and blast off is my second but I don't because menasor is not a stunticon he is a gestalt same with devastator aka my favorite combiner and abominus and predaking and so much more

GANON MAINS UNITE. Oh, and blastoff is cool too. My only gripe is the arm mode is, again, backwards. seriously, why are the only two upcoming Bruticus sets that have the arm correct be both literally the smallest and biggest?

Hopefully Jim is happy...Caught it! Annnnd there has been a combat shuttle. Sort of. It was in what is considered one of the crappier James Bond flics, namely Moonraker. The lead bad guy has a laser on the nosecone of his shuttle. For reasons...the 70's I guess...🙄 And I agree with you completely about UW Blast Off. He looks too...Energon era for me...

It makes sense that he is a Jet but if the would have made ALFA BRAVE a space shuttle for the Aerialbot people would had been less miffed and they could have given us and attack shuttle for bruticuss.
