Out of all of the anti-slice advice out there, this made more sense to me than any of the other so-called "slice fixes." Thanks, MSG!

I am so glad I found your channel. Went from 100's to 80's in no time last year, this year I have turned in a 69 and a 71. The number one thought I have going into changes is you are basically at day 1 again, and just stay persistent, and practice more than you play.

@andycobb3555 I'm in a decent position in life and get to play 3 days a week and practice the other 4 (self employed), I did play in high school, went to the military and started back last year. If you have the time to practice it's not so laughable eh. That's why weekend hackers never get better.

So I am working on fixing my right hand grip. I don't slice it usually but sometimes I hook it and my swing looks wack with it across the line at the top because of a hand issue (last two fingers are little numb and come off of the grip). But that thing you did where you bring the club back with the left hand and then bring your right hand to the grip, works pretty good. Feels a bit weird still but it helped a bunch with getting it closer to the right spot. I just got to trust it now. Thanks Matt!

I like what Brian Sparks, "Easiest Swing", stated about the golf grip. Don't call it "gripping" the golf club! Brian calls it "holding" the golf club which lessens the possibility of over producing tightness in the hands, arms, and shoulders.

I use the exact grip you use. The pinky overlap(varden grip, I believe). I feel the most control and versatility with this grip. I used to tuck the right pinky in between the left pinky and ring finger. That feels terrible to me now.

My biggest issue with grip is just not checking it enough. I just did this recently actually, trying to work out what in my swing is causing unwanted draws or pull. I finally thought go back to basics, and checked my grip and that was it. My granddad always told me, go back to basics, when you feel off. Heck the old man knew something!

Will not find a better video on grip than this one. It is the only one that shows up close how your hands, especially the lead hand, should go on the club. My error is I get sloppy and the grip slips into the middle of my lead hand instead of up against the back pad. It is amazing what a difference it makes to fix that. Bye, bye two-way miss. In my opinion, over the top comes from trail hand but spraying the ball is more from a sloppy lead hand grip. Well done on this video. Critical fundamentals covered.

That's the ultimate trick. To get used to an uncomfortable swing motion, to get to that correct swing plane. If I swing with my "Comfortable" swing, it's always a right turn on the ball( I call it a fade if it lands in middle of fairway, haha). That feeling of having to keep that right arm/elbow close to the body on the down swing always feels like I'm jammed. Which is so awkward. Don't get me wrong, I really want that to feel to be comfortable. Not sure if or when it's gonna feel natural, no matter how many times I've gone to the range. So it gets to a point on the course, where I just aim left of the fairway and embrace it. I drool on right dog legs😅.

I like this channel, but I have that "bad" grip and I'm 90-100 mph swing speed as a very amature golfer. Now I know he can hit 320 and I can only hit 280. I have learned hands and golf swings are not unanimous and I think its important for golf youtubers to understand those differences before they "preach what's bad". Most popular youtubers are neutral/neutral or strong/neutral and other less popular grip types have different swing types to compensate. This is why I like Eric Cogorno videos as he often says in a lot of his videos if your grip is stronger or weaker these are the changes to make for these exercises.

What is the company that you use to comment on your videos? Also, some really good golfers have a really strong grip (right hand under). Most people won’t teach someone to have a super strong grip, but I know scratch and better golfers with both hands strong. They also can swing 115-120mph. The over the top swing is a problem though.

If you’re playing fetch and not golf, don’t try to “fix” your swing. Erase it from your mind and copy this. After 25 aggravating years of off and on trial and huge error, I stopped trying to thing. Setup correct grip, jello wrists, left arm straight and Ben Hogan right elbow. Do it 250 times on camera so you can see that you are copying the advice not engineering more pain. If never had more fun with a sport than my last 6 weeks of golf watching MSG and a couple others.
