a decent golfer told me a lot of years ago, on te backswing try to feel that you're loading the right thigh. First it stops you over-rotating and second it gives you the recoil to start your odwnswing. Still works for me and when I told a new golfing buddy that it fixed his sway motion immediately. Just a thought

My 3 wood is easily the worst club in my bag. I'm convinced it only works with witchcraft and a blood sacrifice. I'll take these tips to heart the next time I'm on the range. Thanks for the insight! Also: "Golf is the opposite of what makes sense." Ain't that the truth! 🤣

I too have offered sacrifices to the golf gods about my 3W. Still have the shovel!

I took my 3 wood out of my bag this year and added a wedge! Best decision I've made!

@@shmirginhymer1867 I have 4 and 5 hybrids in my bag, and I love them. A guy I was paired with in a tournament last week had a 3 hybrid that he swore by. I really want to give it a try.

I've taken all of my woods and long irons out of my bag and replaced them with 2-5 hybrids. I don't hit them perfect, but I hit them better than fairway woods and long irons. I'll definetely try some of the tips in this video though.

I had some of my best fairway woods last Sunday but my biggest struggles are fairways hybrids

My fairway woods are so inconsistent. Hit some great shots and then some god awful ones as well. Back to back par 5's on my course. First one I hooked it 60 yards left. Next hole, perfection.

Oh man..this might be the one MrShortGame video that I can’t relate to. I have the worst tendency of topping my 3-wood. Doesn’t matter if it’s teed up or on the ground. I hardly ever use my 3-wood because I’m so bad with it. But the reverse has actually served me well. I found out I was trying to hit my 3-wood like my driver and I kept hitting so up on the ball that it was being topped. I just kept saying to myself, “hit this like an iron” and it was the first time I ever hit my 3-wood with solid contact. So at least for me, I feel like hitting down on the ball somewhat has helped me

That comes from your swing bottoming out too far behind the ball.

3 wood off a tee, 5 wood off the turf was my formula for years. My new pxg 3 wood is 16° and way easier to hit off the turf. My advice is to get a 16 or 16.5 ° 3 wood.

You get my thumb up, BUT: I learned a long time ago that if you teach someone, try to avoid showing what NOT to do. Always focus on what to do and how to do it.

If you can learn to hit the mistake shots it teaches you how to feel where the club and head are in space and can actually teach you what to do and how to fix the mistake. Try it

I'm sorry, but your third point seems to go against the popular method of keeping the club face closed . That is the common idea of rolling the lead wrist toward the ground on the downswing. Doesn't rotating the back of your lead hand toward the sky open the club face?
