btw the soundtrack this soundtrack is fire
Expired film that has been cold stored for the duration isn't really "expired". It's the stuff that you don't know how it was kept or it was in some box in the attic for 20 years that you have to worry about. Also don't be bagging on cold pizza bruh! 😂
I remember when bulk buying expired was not too spendy. I use to buy because it was cheaper and I'm saving money lol. Now it's getting around $10+ per roll. Close to brand new pricing

man i remember in 2005 i bought a huge box of expired film off ebay .. over 200 rolls for about $200 bucks

It depends on who sells which film. Sometimes you're lucky and get 10 refrigitated rolls of Pro 400h for 80$, other times I see some scalper-aholes selling 300 rolls of Gold for double the price.
Expired film is way too expensive on Ebay etc. If you get it real cheap and want to play around and experiment fine, but don't spend real money on it. That's just throwing good money after bad as they say.
It's so unfair that real life doesn't look the way your video and photos do.
Amazing video, and amazing photos lol. I cannot stress enough how proud I am of your work and growth. Ive been following you and this channel for very long, and you have never ceased to inspire me. I'll always try to give you your flower while you can stop to smell em homie. Much love from Washington state, keep that mental health in tact. The culture needs you forreal.
I recently found some Kodak Vericolor III from 1995, I'm excited to shoot that! Shooting a stock which still readily exists gives you a "meh I could have gotten better with new stock", which is different than shooting a stock which you just can't get new anymore.
I like expired film for its artistic style, sometimes clients will ask if I have it because they think it is cool. Most of the expired film I have has been given to me. The next post I make I will tag you..
The few expired rolls i've shot when i started film photography were all shit. Heavy color shifts, lack of sensitivity. I haven't liked a single one of them. Just a waste of money. So now i only shoot fresh film :)
Damn, I can’t lie and say I ain’t shocked at how these game out. Haven’t shot a roll of expired film yet but now I wanna shoot a few rolls lmao. Scrape the burnt shit off them breadsticks and you good to go 😂
Great video as always. You always make me want to grab my camera a shoot. To me, the biggest negative of expired film is not knowing how it was kept before you got it. If only it was consistently refrigerated.
Of course when you shoot for content/commercial work you need the freshest film for the best results. Otherwise shooting expired film is just FUN. If you can get it cheap then buy it and shoot it, there's no harm in that so long as you stay away from scalpers
in my country expired film just costs 3 times less than brand new so it isn’t a competition really
Aye moe this man always come thur with amazing video content and fire 🔥 photos!!
Man you had some great locations and light. You're setting some strong portrait photography goals right there.
I like to shoot expired film sometimes when I take causal photos because it can be fun to experiment with it but anytime I'm doing serious work I'm always gonna choose fresh film.
no brasil a única maneira de fotografar com filme é usando filme vencido porque são mais baratos hahaha
Not me going into the fridge to see if I really need to be saving this Ektachrome 100 plus expired in 2001 😂
I shoot almost only expired film nowadays. I personally love the old school aesthetic that you can get with it but there are times you can get some really funky results. To me, it's all part of the fun of shooting film.
Film is good for decades if it's frozen. The expiration date is really just for room temperature or in the fridge. And it usually lasts longer in the fridge too.
0:37 the lighting! love your video shots
This expired film is the most close to look like some raw photos from a digital camera in my opinión And as always great video mate
love your cinematography!!!!
Great video and great images. Loving it man
the POV oven and texting shots 💯 💯
Love that you could admit that your initial thoughts at the beginning of the video were debunked by your actual experience...a lot of people would have cut that part and made it seem like they were enlightened the whole time...love your work dude!
Shit...Been unmotivated to shoot for last year or so. Now my brick of Tri-X is expired.
you gotta use the timer my brotha 🔥 but like them breadsticks, this video is toooo fuego.
The color grading of the footage out in the field shooting is bananas
your videos always inspire me to go out and shoot. thank you for that
2:30 into a video "before we get this video started" What the hell man
nothing better than new vuh video, letsgoooooo
imo the color is great because the film itself is great (when fresh), not because it's expired. maybe they were stored properly in dark, cold and dry environment so the expiration didn't affect much. expiration will do things to films but making the color better than when it was fresh, i don't think is one of them. i've shot dozens of rolls of expired films (that were sold dirt cheap and in bulk), some were great, some meh, and some complete trash. if one enjoy the unpredictability then by all means shoot expired!
expired film costs as much as new rolls on ebay now, maybe im looking in the wrong places
I copped 200 rolls for 200$ all expired freezer-stored Fujifilm and Kodak, so far everything works. if it's not cold do not waste your money!
Pretty damn nice results I'd say. Nice one man. That light was epic 👌
I'm shooting expired Fuji color film I bought fresh off the shelves more than ten years ago. I compensate with a stop and the results look almost identical to the results I got off the fresh rolls. It's fine.
I’m not gone lie.. amazing video as always brotha! 🔥
I can’t get over everything about the second shoot everything looked so good that lightning made everything so theatrical
Only expired film I have either came with a camera or was some dirt cheap barely expired black and white Only developed roll so far came back edge to edge black
We are asked to have an open mind usually for newer things and technologies but, we must do the same for the past. It broadens our intellect! Also, a high resolution scan of a low ISO 6x7 negative may be better than some digital cameras of today. Just have fun with it.
8:39 is cinematic!!!!
im very interested in film photography and I was wondering what would a good budget friendly film camera/setup be? Lov the videos by the way.

Any 35mm point and shoot that is under $100. Check out local thrift stores.
Most of the issue is worrying about what people think of what gear/film/settings/etc you're using. I don't do it for clout or likes, I do it for me. If it's a paid gig then of course use fresh film, otherwise shoot expired all day long just over expose the living hell out of it!
If I shoot expired film it’s because I got the film at a low price. And I usually shoot with expired film when I want to just practice. So I don’t waste my good film 😁
That Jets be hittin 🍕 Detroit got the best style of pizza, don't @me.
I havent shot any yet, but its a cheaper option. I can use it for general fun
Missed you king
dope framinggg for talking head
actually crazy
Jet’s Pizza, a man of class
Other than the reasons you mentioned above, It seems to me that some people like to be hipsters with this "hot trend" thing, that's why the expired film got so hyped up recently. Before you know it, people will be praising wet plate like it's the hot shit lol One thing I don't like about being hyped up is the price jump that will happen afterward.
The coolest thing about expired film better be the location it's stored at Also the price.
Personally I don't plan to shoot expired film for a shoot where I *need* keepers. I keep random expired film to use in testing vintage cameras -- of which I collect way too many!!! I can gauge the focus/overall exposure and other mechanical/optical features of the cameras/lenses even with very grainy, color-shifted, expired film. Most of the expired film I have comes with vintage cameras/photo equipment -- so I rarely know the manufacture/expiration date, certainly the film has not been kept under optimal conditions (typical storage -- grandpa's hot attic!). I'd say that 80% of the developed/scanned images are colorshifted, very grainy and have lost light sensitivity. Since I don't know the age of most of the film, as a rule I shoot one stop over exposed. But it does serve my purposes and is cheaper than buying brand new film for testing. But every once in a while a roll will turn out great -- looking as good as new film, or maybe even hitting a better sweet spot for color/exposure/grain. So even though when I am testing cameras using expired film, and I said I don't plan on having any "keeper" shots -- I also do try to shoot interesting things at least. Now your results were really awesome -- of course you have an awesome camera (I want me one of those!!!), but that film must have been well taken care of. Cheers!
Watched this video before I even started shooting film. Here I am again watching it in full because I now shoot film, and came across some super expired film 😂 your content is top tier and so are you homie. Definitely have earned the title of my favorite photographer. edit: Has > Have
love that intro
I understand you but for some of us not in the first world where film is significantly more affordable and available, expired film is pretty much the only option right now. Prices are high, stock is low.
Would love if you spoke about aspect ratios or your videos man.
I buy expired film for formats that aren't made anymore or that are made but in very limited quantities
What camera/camcorder are your using for this video?
bro we need them new luts
these pics are awesome! i'd love to see you use smelly old film and see what happens 🥰
I have had some good moments with expired film and some not so good moments. Def dont go out of my way for it but sometimes it can create some super unique colors. Natura 1600 is kinda nice right? lol #TappedIn
some rolls I acquired with a camera I should have just chucked in the bin #wasteofmoney but id like to use some cold stored stuff , so id buy from reputable sources where they test and have an assurance of storage conditions but acknowledge I cant get the same guarantee as fresh, but this video has me feeling pro expired , the only thing stopping me however is the cost when its not sufficiently cheaper than fresh stock , but damn for these three gift rolls you really landed on a nice batch , didi you compensate by a stop or box speed them ?
Your homie look like the dude from Get Out and Black Panther
your color grading is insane
The expired film hype has bled into the Fujifilm digital community. I swear 80% of shots posted to Fuji groups is muddy green brown hazy white balances trying to create instant undeserved nostalgia around a photo of nothing for the feel of ethereal solitude. I'm tired of the hipstermatic emo grunge expired film look. I need some natural colours to cleanse my palet.
Rip breadsticks
neopan 1600 rest in peace
Ima start cleansing people with sage that be trippin 😂
I snagged 8 rolls of Fuji for 2 dollars at a thrift store. Idk how the film has been kept, idk how they will come out... But it's 2 bucks. Practice is practice. 🙏🏿
drip king
I'm Brazilian and I really like these videos but I don't understand English very well, could you put subtitles
Let's keep it 100 people who are shooting expired film today are only doing so because of two reasons either you miss a stock that is no longer in production and you have a few rolls or you've never shot with a particular stock and you come across a roll of it. And quite frankly nobody's making film anymore two major companies that's it so you shoot what you got you shoot what you come across. But I will say there is not much of a deterioration of black and white stock that's expired for the most part you can almost shoot it at box speed of course given how old it is but for the most part shooting expired black and white film not a big deal color on the other hand....
You shoot expired film because you want to experiment, I shoot with expired film because I am poor. We are not the same.
How much does everyone’s film cost to get developed and how much do they normally cost?
@Berserked

Depends on the area you're in. Most do online would be like $15 around that price. Minus shipping film and etc
He click baited every single fucking one of us. 😂
if expired film isnt stored well its basically useless and a disaster. so if it turns out decent enough, then its not really that expired. agree, expired film = bad.
Your homie looks like Mo Salah
bro ngl, I just shoot with expired film cuz it's cheap 💀
This is inspiring
bro you're legit
yeah sweet Expos hat, Montreal represent.
but there is one more argument to buy fresh vs expired film... voting via buying :) when you buy fresh film, you are telling (kodak) that this industry keeps going and people shoot film. companies analyzing amount they're selling and if not enough people buy fresh film - whole industry is in danger, and we've been there around 2018-2019, thankfully it's past ;)
Them point of views😰😮💨
pizza in the morning?? 💀

Man expired film is a scam. lol I think it's largely people want the pics to look like a filter was applied. If crapshoots are your thing then carry on, but for me I'd rather keep supporting fresh film and play my little part in keep film alive. Really people selling expired film should not be selling at premium prices unless they can prove they stored it responsibly from purchase. Aerochrome however, if I find that a a reasonable price I'd go in on that.
i shoot expired films because i'm poor af and can't afford normal films :)
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
movie
Pls cleanse the clout chasers one more time lol Keep film cheap and accessible for artists
All I Shoot Is Expired Film !! DONT HATE ON EXPIRED FILM !!
