hey guys I looked it up and found nothing relevant. What is a choppy drummer? I assume one who plays a lot of weird time signatures with a highly syncopated sound

I highly recommend taking a couple lessons with a jazz drummer. It totally changes the game in metal drumming unless you're deathcore oriented

I saw someone else say it so I will also chime in with it. This really is like the only what I would consider chops drummer that I like. I have such little interest in chops I'm surprised dude even came across my algorithm. I should say I like chops, of course, just now Chops™. I also like that he makes regular drummer faces and doesn't do that obnoxious smile performance that apparently everybody on Instagram and KZread shorts thinks they have to do these days

*For real though, Meinls Byzance rides are so damn interesting looking/sounding on recordings, i feel like there’s too many to choose from. I always wanted to play their spectrum ride, that 24in big Apple, monophonic, polyphonic, serpent ride, dual, FOUNDRY RESERVE, the old mega bell rides made explicitly for blast beats, transition ride, raw bell dark ride, THE NUANCE RIDE?!! like what the fuck does that thing feel like it’s is a work of art just to look at. Sams for the spectrum ride. The 22 inch swish ride…. A jazz China-ride with rivets. I bet I’d nut feeling that stick definition just melt like the sticks are sand.* And each one are 5-700$, and all have very unique sides to them.
