I should have clarified more about how the shikigami slows down bullets. But, yes, any bullets that are slowed down typically are cancelled when the enemy is destroyed. But not necessarily all of them, the cancelling is like an Area of Effect after a destroyed enemy.

And then the cancel effect of a destroyed enemy follows your shikigami. Thus the explanation of the maidens from Stage 3 making a force field.

I think you should buy the game for sure as it rocks. Unfortunately the bad thing about the XBL version is that it doesn't have good screen resizing, so poor people like me with a small TV find this game a ball-ache to play visually. Still gives me the excuse to go out and buy a new TV.
