A weekly show featuring gameplay of STG or "shmups" with approachable commentary from passionate fans of the genre. We comment on 1 credit clears or high scoring replays typically: discussing strategies, techniques, mindset, aesthetic or anything related to the game or the genre.
We are now covering Non-STG games in our new side show: Awesome Game Replays! We cover these games in a similar fashion as we do for STG Weekly.

Best Gradius players i've ever seen in my life. What in the...
Hell yeah, Sengoku Blade! Awesome game, awesome episode. Thanks!
This game is awesome! Awesome to see it covered :-)
Yooo one of my favorite Psikyo shmups and Saturn games. Great upload!
Wow what a surprise 😳 thank you guys. You make many people very happy with your surprise appearances! . Keeping the Shmup dream alive ! 🎉.
😮Marrion is in this??? Now I feel bad for overlooking this game
now on steam
This video has a lot of good info. I’ve been working on Ketsui as my first 1cc. I really like the look of Guwange; I love that Japanese mythology aesthetic.
I found your channel via Electric Underground. Great video, lots of good info.
25:46 I asked some japanese counterstop players what triggers that jack-in-the-box enemy in stage 3 and they told me that it’s guaranteed to show up if you reach that section with full health, otherwise it just has a random chance to appear.
BIL is my hero ❤
I had no idea this happened, he didn’t upload it to his own channel. Fantastic work, congratulations! So happy to see someone has managed the impossible in this amazing game
8 years later... I just got Mushihimesama Matsuri (that includes 1.5 and OST) for a little over 8 euros on Steam. I'm running it on Mac Book Pro M3 with Whisky and it plays wonderful. What a blast for such a price. An amazing piece of visual art. Thank you guys for your STG reviews.
I love rade so much, I remember watching his run live, jaimers nailed it.
Just got a Raiden II PCB. My first pcb, and I am so stoked! My player 2 doesn't have checkpoints. Also, I believe the easy and hard difficulty is reversed. The online dipswitch settings are correct. The test menu says easy, but it plays more difficult than normal and vice versa.
Epic episode, thank you!
Awesome episode, thank you! Think it's gonna be a hot espgaluda summer
Good stuff, morning coffee and chewing through this likely over the next few days :)
The "turret valley" part has a very strong Toaplan feeling, almost Flying Sharkesque sensation. Secret tip: Hold buttons C+D when starting the game in MAME for a surprise.
🔥
Great game, unpronounceable name!
yo it's time, i put this game on my PS2
Omg never clicked so fast love galuda
Big darius fan great video and tips, i didnt know darius 2 screws you on power ups i may have to start playing it on easy sneaky that.
Nice run and thanks for the upload, much needed
This was one of the best episodes I’ve seen! Fascinating and funny!
Cool game 😎 STG weekly is awesome and I hope y'all keep on keeping on!
Always delighted to see a new STGW upload. Not very familiar with this one but it looks class. Cheers.
Sengeki Striker makes a good case for using autofire. When manually tapping, slight unintended changes in frequency can accidentally trigger the option attack. There's a short cooldown after using it, so this can get you killed. Also of note is the Asia version of the game, which has cranked up difficulty and is quite an experience.
I got into this show months ago and this gotta be my favorite touhou related episode. UFO is usually hated for its difficulty but I'd argue thats what makes it thrilling and fun. I watched most of your touhou episodes and other episodes like ikaruga, mushihimesama and a bit of ddp daifukkatsu. It would be nice to cover more touhou games. as some of the more recent touhous have crazy scoring runs mainly 15 and 16.
It was a great time being on the show. I was a bit nervous for this one as I've only been interviewed one other time prior, but I think I got across the most important points about playing this game for score.
Absolutely never heard of this game before, but it looks cool.
Oh this one was a pretty fast one, really like this old games and explaining the score system
Wiki page is still updated with new discoveries since the show (rank, speed etc.), check it out
Damn, a video from the good ol' 360p era where no one is scared of being canceled because of a joke.
Hadn’t heard of this, looks pretty cool!
Yay! STG with Icarus commentary is a treat indeed. A Plasmo replay is the icing on the cake!
Love you guys. I wonder where you are.
Thanks for this video guys

Just Noticed That This Is An UNPROTECTED Version Of The Game. Yes There Are 2 Versions, With The Difference Being The Soundtrack
Yeah why the sound dub? Weird listening to this with the original sound of plasmo tapping the buttons.
This dude made it look so easy! I tried to play it on the Namco Museum for Switch, but even with the hints that provides actually controlling it is another matter entirely! Combat in Druaga is way more intricate than it seems. This person is incredibly skilled at this game.
Thanks for another episode! Still making my way through the years of other episodes.
We're doing Kusoge? I kid, but there are still plenty of better little known arcade shooters you haven't covered. Where's the Hotdog Storm episode?
Hy-hy-hy-hypa-hypa-hypa-hypa-hypa-hypa shistem, redi."
Reading title is says “Blaze-On”, not just “Bla-Zee-On”. *Please stop harassed me due to forbades 7-dirty words.
My game's a little rusty, so this was a great watch. I didn't know the Japanese version is more playable.
Got my first red digit on the score board today after watching the game is still beating me senseless, but it's getting way more fun !!! :)
as I remember it, the dedicated cabinet of Darius II is 2 screens but they also developed an upgrade kit for Darius 1 that was 3 screens
I got this board just before the prices went outrageous. Played it a bunch at the start of covid, but I'm not very good at shmups. Love the vibe, the flat graphics, mecha designs and the little dudes you collect to help out.
