Steven Lawson: The Necessity of Grace

The Reformation principle of “sola gratia,” or “grace alone,” affirms that only the favor and mercy of God will save His people from the condemnation their sin deserves. In this session, Dr. Steven Lawson describes the extent of God’s grace in drawing sinners to Himself, explaining why God’s grace is needed in our day.

This Sermon on The Necessity of Grace is the best sermon on grace I've ever heard! However, at 20,813 views and only 540 'Likes,' clearly many out there need to ask & pray the Lord for Discernment because this Sermon is truly a homerun! Glory to the King of kings, and the Lord of lords!🙌🏼

Ezekial 37, with the vision of the dry bones that God brings to life, can give us a good illustration of what God does in the life of a person whom He saves. Those dead people in that vision could not do anything to have life by themselves. God alone brought life, and God alone gets the glory.

I believe the main issue for the church in America is that we do not see God for how great He is and man for how bad he is. It’s a fundamental misunderstanding of sin and how severe it really is. It took the Son of God dying on the cross to reconcile you to God. Sin is not just a disease it is literally death incarnate. Thank you Steve Lawson.

Not free if looking and waiting, death mean to God in you, you live many times till you wake like Paul, Phil 2:5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: You are like John Baptist blind and looking for outside God, wake up stop judging man like you

Hello what does it mean to be an elect? Does God draw people and when they respond, they turn into an elect? Or does God determine who to elect before they get redeemed?

Yep your second understanding is the right one. Before the foundation of the world God foreknew His sheep/elect, and only God knows who they are. Romans 9, Eph 1, John 6,8,10,17 - you should watched Pastor Lawson’s sermon “for whom did Christ die for” if you want more clarification !

@@christianfan6696 hello thank you I get confused because I feel like God loves everyone and wants everyone saved, but they say we are given a choice to accept or reject salvation. Does that contradict election?

@@kokoro.theheart definitely take a look at that sermon I reccomended! Or the same title by John MacArthur if you have time. It’s God who starts our faith and God who perfects our faith, the flesh is of no profit for any good work if spiritually dead. It does not contradict bc as humans, WE need to believe in Him as John 3:16 says, WE need to enter by the narrow gate, WE need to call upon the name of Jesus to be saved. Simply put, God’s complete sovereignty and our “free will” will never be something humans can fully grasp, only God possesses that knowledge - but rest assured they work beautifully together. Picture a revolving door, you came into faith seeing the front of the door saying “choose me”, but now when you entered in and look behind at the same door it says “I chose you” - please watch the other sermons the pastors present this truth so much better than me!

You save yourself by understanding you were in the Father like Jesus before creation, looking for who you is are not awake yet, all will because you die like man but never die, your like God. I AM is said by you and blind about it being a creation good and bad.

Lawson neglects the necessity of obedience. For the promise, the covenant, is unto you and to your children. This sinful man neglects the command of Christ and the Apostles to baptize his children. Why does Ligonier promote such a man who teaches such disobedience??? What does that tell you about the adherence Ligonier has to the Westminster Confession of Faith? All covenant breakers must repent!
