Thank God for the godly men He has raised up throughout history to proclaim His truths with great power by the Holy Spirit! This pre-conference is going to be an edifying initial teaching of the Reformation Era. I am excited for so much more. Thank you for this, Ligonier Ministries! You are really doing Godʼs will by helping the world know more about the Lord Jesus Christ through the faithful preaching of the Word and the history of His church. May the church move mightily with the Gospel by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ; by the grace of the Holy Spirit, all for the glory of God the Father. God bless all of you!

T - total depravity U - sovereign election L - definite atonement I - effectual calling P - preserving grace I had to write it down to see it. Yes, I like these choice of words more than the ones in the original TULIP. Makes more sense to me. Thank you!

God’s grace didn’t get us going then leave us to get by on our works. Grace didn’t just justify us in the past, it sustains us in the present and will deliver us in the future.

Sense of sin may be often great, and more felt than grace; yet not be more than grace. A man feels the ache of his finger more sensibly than the health of his whole body; yet he knows that the ache of a finger is nothing so much as the health of the whole body.

We are Saved by the Grace we Show to others..not by making people follow our rules. Christians have twisted what God Said to fit themselves.

Is this just in a book or did he record these as sermons?

A paradox is an apparent contradiction. Grace and truth aren’t really contradictory. Jesus didn’t switch on truth, then turn it off so He could switch on grace. Both are permanently switched on in Jesus. Both should be switched on in us… Truth without grace breeds a self-righteousness legalism that poisons the church and pushes the world from Christ. Grace without truth breeds moral indifference and keeps people from seeing their need for Christ. Attempts to “soften” the gospel by minimizing truth keep people from Jesus. Attempts to “toughen” the gospel by minimizing grace keep people from Jesus. It’s not enough for us to offer grace or truth. We must offer both.

"...calamity and adversity are signs of His cursing..." Really? I'm afraid that reduces Calvin severely in my estimation. Had Calvin never read Job? Or maybe I misheard the quotation.
