I was honestly gutted when I heard the news Steven Gerrard retired. He was my favourite player bar none. The reason I started supporting LFC was because of a goal he scored. It was Middlesborough vs LFC in 09. 94 Minutes on the clock and LFC needed another goal to win. Up pops Gerrard with one of the sweetest strikes you will ever see, which lit a spark in me, that has grown into a real passion for LFC. Thank you for all that youve done for this great club Stevie. The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be. Steven Gerrard.

To me it's his tackles, not long shots, not 50yard passes, when he goes running back for more than half the pitch and dive in and make a sensational tackle, as a attacking midfielder, is what makes me adore him most, nobody tackles as good as him, not even Mascherano is that aggressive.

Amazing job. Gerrard is the reason I fell in love with not only Liverpool, but the sport as well. My Grandmother is from the city, and always tried to get me into football, but it just didn't happen for the longest time. Finally sat down one day, watched a game, and haven't looked back since.

And it hurts to know that such a world class player never had his hand on a pl trophy , one of the best midfielder you could ever watch . Loyal to his club what more can you want from a player #greatgerrad

Gerrard was my favourite player since day 1 and is the reason I fell in love with Liverpool and the day he left Liverpool I stopped watching football for about a year because of how upset I was I just couldn’t watch Liverpool without Gerrard it didn’t feel the same 😔 I still thought he had another year or 2 left in him after he retired and personally think he’d still be better than 90% of the midfielders in the world right now
