@@markclark6005 ...i feel sorry for you poor brats, a kid came to my class in the 3rd year, had a sister. They'd been to five schools... so, well done brat! You've made two choices that i have too. I was born in Liverpool but my parents having returned from evacuation couldn't guide me to either club and when someone asked me who i was for at the age of nine... well, i knew i lived in Liverpool, hadn't heard about Everton, flying high at the time, so i said of course Liverpool. First good choice! Watching live and experiencing the crowd and becoming a part of the whole theatre, the show, is what brings out the tribal, the religion. There's a bonding that you can't get anywhere else other than at the event. Shanks famously mentioned religion and football, that's ok in my book. yNwa

I watched this lad play at Anfield in the FA youth cup against man utd. I knew how special he was from that night. Later he kept my beloved Liverpool relevant at a time when we could have easily become another Leeds and dropped leagues. I've watched the reds since 1974 and I can honestly say, he's in my top 3 players of all time in a red shirt and we owe him more plaudits than he can keep in his heart.

Steven, I need 100 pairs of hands to count all the good you done for Liverpool, for England and yourself. The true sense of a professional, Never rest on your morals. Working harder than anyone else. Having the right balance of being selfish but humble. One of my hero's and to this day I miss seeing your name and number on the team sheet screaming and chanting your name. I will never ever blame you for those lows. We win and lose as a team. You slipped yes but where was the back up of your team mates. You countlessly covered the mistakes of fellow team mates over the years. Legend forever. YNWA

I can't believe that our greatest ever servant and player (in my humble opinion) is tortured so endlessly by slipping over in the first-half of a game with so much time left for the team to turn it around. irrespective of that, a slip shouldn't define any game, at any point, in any era. He was absolutely class that year! He was class full stop. I know his elite standards are a gift and a curse, but, kinell--he was Liverpool's hero time and time again and time again. Beggars belief how it's even a thing that gets spoken about. I guess that says more about how flawless he was.

England lost to Portugal on penalties in the quarter-finals, and France lost to Greece in the quarters, who went on to win vs Portugal in the final. Zidane also didn't headbutt a Greek defender, he headbutted an Italian defender (Materazzi) in the 2006 World Cup final.

im liverpool thru n thru but lets be clear, we only needed a point against chelsea that day to keep the title in our own hands, imo if we'd got that point we'd have brushed palace aside and won the title by a point (if memory serves on the exact points situation) it hurts because it's the unfortunate truth, without that slip we'd have won it...i genuinely think that as far as his management goes the slip and how he is dealing with it, the way he faces it head on, wont pretend it didnt happen, is actually a positive thing, ive watched all his recent interviews and the blues fans can testify his intensity is genuinely frightening, it's clear, and i mean no disrespect to rangers, that he is on a mission to eventually manage liverpool to the title, it might take 10 years...it might not even happen... but the fella is dedicating his life to it and that can only benefit both the reds and blues, gerrard is big and he's fuckin hard, pure class

I never really liked any Liverpool players except God and Stevie G, as a forest fan its weird as I hope his teams do well unless they play Forest of course, I would always root for Gerrard, amazing player better Human.

I can’t believe he still holds that Cheslea slip against himself. Liverpool would have lost anyway. They lost 2-0. Only thing that would have been different is they would have lost 1-0. There were obviously a few games that season you could point at such as when Suarez wrongly got that goal disallowed against Everton meaning they drew or against Hull I think in which one of the Liverpool defenders scored an absolute wonder strike... in their own goal but really it was the Palace match. 3-0 up with 5 minutes to go? That’s the one you can point at and say that was the match but whichever match cost them it, it definitely wasn’t the Chelsea one or that slip.
