The Gerrard v Lamps v Scholes saga has to be put to bed right here right now. Gerrard was the epitome of the perfect outfield player. He had EVERYTHING. Goals, range of pass, speed, power, could attack as good as he could defend. He was an absolute powerhouse of a player.

I was interested in Liverpool because of Michael Owen, but I stayed a permanent red because of Steven Gerrard.

Being out of the country between 1995 and 2015, I never really realised what a fantastic player he was. Seriously impressed. Only saw him playing for lacklustre England teams, didn't do him any justice at all. Real trooper, too. Smart and hard don't always go together.

People that laughed at Gerrard in the 2014 season for slipping have never seen this video

We was unlucky not to win title that year Torres and Gerrard killed it. People forget Gerrard and Torres picked up long injuries playing a pointless international friendly, Torres did his abductor playing 2 mins for Spain comming of bench and Gerrard did his groin. We were top of the league until we lost both players for 3 months. The time Gerrard and Torres came back united got themselves 4 points in front. United got lucky that year

People tend to go inside the box for a safer shot rather than shooting from outside the box and risk it getting deflected or going wide. Defence also became better I think
