the biggest compliment I can give him is that, everywhere in the world, as soon as you hear Liverpool, you think of Steven Gerrard and vice versa. For me he was the ultimate captain for any football club: A leader, a fighter, a identification figure and a goalscorer in the moment his teams needed it the most. Huge Respect Steven Gerrard.

+ECLKWRIG He's won almost everything there is possibly to win, same for messi. Messi hasn't won a World Cup but in my mind he is still the greatest. Paolo Maldini hadn't won the World Cup but he is one of the greates defenders ever. Francesca totti has never won the serie A with Roma but he would be one their greatest legends they've had if not the greatest. If it isn't still clear to u my point is that players like gerrard who have missed out on that one single trophy but have won a ton loads of others are can still be great great players and in messi's case the greatest

I'm 15 and starting football at chorley FC which is small but youth and honestly I feel like if I try like Gerrard did I can make it there to Anfield, to home. I would love to have seen Gerrard play for Klopp. I remember after Salah's screamer against Chelsea, Klopp said he'd never seen a shot like that live before - adding that he had seen a 10 minute compilation video of Gerrard doing it though. While I love watching our current squad wriggle through defenses, I miss the thrill of knowing that if the ball came to Gerrard anywhere within 30 yards of the goal, he might release a bomb. And the scream of "Gerraaard!" He was so so much more than goals. My favorite quality of Steven Gerrard was if he lost the ball to someone in his early days - he would do a one-man gegenpressing until Liverpool had won it back.

Shankly made our grandparents happy, Gerrard made-or makes- us happy. And now, Klopp also makes us happy. I'm so, so lucky Kop.

This guy is my hero. Always has been always will be. The slip does not matter. What this man has achieved is anything beyond any player's wildest dreams and it's worth more than any stupid Premier league medal but I think this year's team will make Stevie proud

As a Chinese Liverpool supporter way back from 1977. The only time I felt sorry to a Liverpool player is Mr Steven Gerrard. We just couldn't deliver a EPL championship for him. Now 2021 he's back to EPL as a coach good luck and thank you for everything that you have done for the club.

This video gets me every time, rolls back the memories. Such an under rated player by other clubs but as long as us Liverpool fans know how good he was it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Steven Gerrard, the biggest legend we have ever had. So fortunate I got meet the fella the other week, very kind man. So much respect for him it's unbelievable. Imagine if Klopp was here 6 months earlier, we might still be lucky enough to see him play for us every week.
