Coming from a die hard real Madrid fan. The talisman was by far the best midfielder in the premier league hands down. In his prime he was just a brutal scoring machine the passes he gave etc... this man here earned my respect and I'm glad I was alive to see him play. Long live the talisman!!!

Being an Arsenal fan, I can say I would have loved him to play for us. It's been an absolute privilege to watch this man play football. For me, he is one of the best central midfielders to have played the game, and a true legend through and through. In this day and age with so much money involved the game, how often do you see a player stay with the same club his whole career? He may have won the league had he gone to Chelsea, but he won everyone's heart by following his own, which was Liverpool. Will miss him in the league, and it feels like an era is coming to an end.

Falak Doshi I'm a gooner as well. When you think back to the 9 trophyless years before we won the fa cup last season, you could argue that the last missing piece we were and still are missing is a steven gerrard because of his leadership, commitment and loyalty. He represents everything a captain should be, like adams, maldini, totti, del piero, shearer etc. Its a shame that the demba ba slip would forever be attached to his legacy.

I still come here, lol.. it’s hard to believe the first time I watched him live on TV, came on as a sub for the first time, this young boy who was appalling to watch, I said that he should be dropped from sub, let him train some more, and bring him back next year. Next year, AM I WATCHING THE SAME BOY LAST YEAR?? It’s like watching a completely different player. Watching the lad gets better and better, on his prime compared to his debut are worlds apart. Suddenly I realised, my hopes, my dreams, this lad can make it happen. And luck just turns from bad to worse, Hypia, Fowler, Dudek, Hamann and Carragher retired. Lucas Leive massive injury, Xabi Alonso goes to Real Madrid, Javier Mascherano to Barcelona, Owen to Newcastle. Torres came, and left to Chelsea, Suarez came and got banned for 3 months and sold to Barcelona, Sterling left to M.City, Cisse, Peter Crouch, Risse.. Brings tears to my eyes knowing if it wasn’t for Gerrard carrying them all through thick and thin, his fame brought many stars, his leadership, if it wasn’t for him, Liverpool would have drowned to the bottom half of the table and things will go even worse for Liverpool, watching Liverpool now, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, Allison, Van Dijk, Lovren, Gomez, Robertson, Matip, Alexander Arnold, Wijnaldum, Chamberlain, Firmino, Mane and Shaqiri, with a great,manager like Klopp, sounds like our Kop. If only..

murat2428 there’s 3 team that hasn’t lost until now, wait after January, and several important games, we have advantage of home important games next half. M.C needs to lose 3 games and Liverpool needs to win against Chelsea and MC, only then we can put our hopes up.. we have chased the title with Owen, Torres and Suarez. Salah isn’t exactly in top form at the moment, not like last year. But seeing our Rivals MU and Everton with only 20 and 19 points.. makes me so happy.

There's only one Gerrard we will never see another player of his calibre again the golden generation of footballers is coming to a sad end😥

Just saw gerrards interview after the chelsea match, asked about the chav fans, he basically told them to stick it up their arse, with their plastic signs and he said it was nice of them to turn up for once.. I as a manchester city fan, would just like to doff my cap to him. He is and has been a scouse through and through, he would have been stood in the kop, if he had not been on the pitch, and for him to say it how it is, that all that it meant, to win a couple of cups for liverpool is better than 10 titles anywhere else, well i have nothing but respect for that. i wish a few more players had the loyalty, the guts to stand by his word and his team and people from his city.. good luck to the lad..i supported him for england and respected him for liverpool.

***** The season has already begun, it starts in March. And I was thinking the same thing. If I get to LA within the next couple of years I'll try and make it to a Galaxy match. Seattle to LA is pretty far though, the train would probably be a better choice.

Liverpool fan here...... Easily without a doubt the best footballer I have ever had the privilege of watching. No player I have seen in the last 20 years has managed to take a game by the scruff of the neck like he has. There has been times where Liverpool been dead an buried and he has dragged us out of the dirt. Istanbul, the Manchester and Madrid massacres in 2009, Olympiacos and the 2006 F.A. Cup are just a few memories I will always keep. The title of the video says it's the end, but something tells me it's just the beginning. We are still in the F.A. Cup which lands on his birthday ( maybe it's fate ) and we are still in the Europa League. Let's win both and who knows, Gerrard future manager anyone?

I'm highly disappointed in the club for treating him the way they did. After everything, his new contract would include "managed" play time? Are you fucking kidding me?! They insult their best with shitty contract offers. I truly believe Stevie could have won a prem title of he was able to stick around, but I don't necessarily blame him for leaving. managed play time could be looked at as a money thing or maybe its more of a health thing. Stevie's form and style has deteriorated over time and therefore we need to rest him to give him more chance to play at his best. It's too much for him, all this pressure, every time he puts on the arm band people expecting things of him. And thats why he is going to america, there is less expected of him there and its a fresh challenge. I love Stevie, but sooner or later the club was going to have to move on with or without him playing. He will always be in our hearts a true legend of the kop, but as for his playing career, its time to forge a path for the new boys like Coutinho and Hendo. Maybe there will be another legend that will rise in our ranks.... who knows?

nikz200 what an absolute legend gerrard is, though i think you have your hopes up when it comes to henderson..he just doesnt have IT...although i rate coutinho as one of the best midfielders in the premier league...get a decent striker (tevez:O:omaybe?hmm) rid of balotelli, and in with a midfielder with VISION..and i mean a lad with eyes on the back of his head...but i cant see any one of these joining a team outside the champions league! .. and yeah, gerrard had one year left in him ..he did :(

Raised as a liverpool fan I got goosebumps watching this ! If my kids like football in the future or play the game I'll show them videos of him and I'll tell them why he was so special to the fans why he was such a legend wearing the reds shirt for that long ... Having to hold back tears here, ive grown up watching this guy since 98-2000 his transformation, dedication to the team... the passion, he might have never won the Ballon D'or, we never "gave" him the trophy he deserves but man oh man did this guy make football fun to watch.. his long range shots like a sniper, his clutch penalties securing the win or his leadership pushing the squad on this man is one of the G.O.A.T. Shivering Dry in my mouth Cry .. couse this 8 mins.. in 2004 I started watching LFC games.. everything started with a cap, my father bought it to me I was weak, and little, bigger and cooler boys always bring me down I watched so much Pool games, and SG was gived me something, gived me hope I started play football in league 4, in Hungary my leg was very weak, I can't shoot a hard from 16 meters.. but some years later I can shoot nice stunners from 25-30 meters long so many shit seasons I played.. we defeated so many times like 15:1.. 10:2.. 10:0 we went to league 5.. but we growed up with friends, and sign some good player from other teams, who know us from elementary scool or high scool they was play teams where they was the best, or the one of the bests.. in that year we win the league, undefeated It was an awesome year for us 2010.. never forget sorry for my english Thank for you Gerrard! never give up! Grown up watching this legend. Immense player between 2005 and 2010. The amount of goals he scored and victories he influenced for us in that time period was something to behold. Still remember that stunning season in 2008-2009 when he scored 24 goals from midfield. That was the year we should have won the league, IMO. Let's hope he can get his hands on one more peice of silverware. :)
