Steve Sutcliffe THRASHES the new 2024 Aston Martin Vantage on road and track

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The new for 2024 Aston Martin Vantage is way faster and significantly more powerful than the model it replaces. Steve Sutcliffe tests Aston's latest on the public road and the Monteblanco circuit in Spain to find out if it's also more fun to drive.
Power from the Mercedes-AMG sourced twin-turbo V8 is up to 656bhp while torque rises to 589lb ft. The new Vantage starts at £165,000. Is this the best entry-level sports car Aston Martin has yet produced?

Great to see a review by Steve, and a marvelous one at that! To be honest, this car could be a dog and I'd still want one.....I mean, just LOOK at it! And then just LISTEN to it! That fact it's a very VERY good car is the icing on the cake. Aston Martin really are producing their best cars ever. DB12 is a knock out, as is this new Vantage. The forthcoming 824hp Vanquish...........I can't wait!

Fantastic review….its interesting that there’s been a bunch of KZread reviewers whose skills on the track are at odds with their belief of their skills on the track, all parrot each other…..front end / steering ok but not great, gear box ok but should have been DCT. And then Mr Sutcliffe arrives and is basically like, ‘hold my drink kid’ and shows what an absolute weapon this car is in the right hands. Those slides were truly epic. After this review I’m sure Mr Stroll was happy with what his team have delivered.

Do you think it's better in the feeling of direction and communicative chassis compared to previous models? The electrical direction when removing it is insulating, does it transmit better information? By not being isolated, does it approach a hydraulic direction or is it far away? Is it very far from that of a GT3? Is it better than Vantage F1, Vantage V12 2022? Dbs 770 or superlegera?? Better for a circuit? Better to enjoy on the road? Compared to an AMG GTR? Thank you very much. New subscriber on your website, very good content, very good design and no advertising, Regards

  • @ih7177

The biggest issue, which I know has effected everything, is the price plus options. This car should've been priced as a direct rival to all 911 Ss and above models apart from the turbo s. Special addition vantage could be priced at or slightly higher than turbo s. I suspect starting prices plus options are going to be too high just like the new DB12. Great effort Aston, bit too late and priced quite wrong.

Want a sports car? Buy a mid engined one... from Porsche, McLaren, Ferrari or Lambo... sorry Lotus. Want the best looking car in this class? Buy the Aston: looks way better than anything else in its class and drives up to 8/10th of the best. However if looks win it then for just a few quid more (a consequence of AM's ambitious price bump...) the step up Maserati MC20 needs to be given serious consideration...also reviewed by this Man - just watch his review and you will see the difference in between both cars....
