I particularly enjoyed the shot of the Karmann Ghia convertible. The reference to the "Mustang Three-hundred-and-ninety" tells you everything you need to know about this video.

Where it is today. I also hope they will restore it to the way it was when McQueen himself drove the car.

@@LawriePaulGiven The people who made the video for me would not allow pictures of the real car - something about copyright stuff.

Had to open up the windows to let the smell of BS out! For a start there were TWO identical 1968 Mustangs used in the movie. VIN 8R02S125558 was the one used for the stunt driving, was badly damaged and eventually ended up in a scrapyard in Mexico. VIN 8R02S125559 was used for McQueen's close-up driving shots and it's this one, after years in the hands of Bob Kiernan and later his son Sean that has been restored to movie condition and sold for $3.4m (maybe $3.7m but who's counting?) But wait, there's more . . . . somebody wanted to build a replica of the Eleanor Mustang from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. Bought a couple of scrap coupes and, lo and behold, one turned out to the OTHER Bullitt Mustang! That's being restored too.

The cars were not identical. One was a GT with a 390 V8, the other was not a GT and had a 289 V8, which was why the GT stuff was removed from the other car. The beat up car that was used for the final slide into the ditch was found in Mexico. And the Eleanor car is a Shelby, not a Mustang GT.
