I thought that I must be reading too much into his comment because it seemed so obvious to me what he meant. She is either stupid or she is rude and just doesn't listen. Her voice is like fingernails down a chalkboard. The way they talk over each other is like watching a train crash.

I like how Barbara can't even get the technical fact that Colbert's Father and brothers died in a plane crash, not a car crash. You'd think with something like that you'd be respectful and at least show you did SOME research before having your guest on. These women combined have the charisma of a puddle of mud.

+HiddenWen Seriously. I was left in awe after witnessing her just casually mistake such an important fact, not to mention it being a loss. It was also so pathetic the way she & the others just blatantly didn't even try to understand his jokes. It's like they've not even watched him before- he was using his character & Barbara basically forced him out of it, like what was that with the sudden change in topics that had nothing to do with his act? Such a lame show.

I, for example, happen to consider Stephen Colbert to be an insufferably obnoxious smart ass, who's not very funny at all. In fact, off the top of my head, I'd say I think the ONLY "positive" thing [relatively speaking : ) ] I can say about Stephen Colbert is that I probably consider Seth Meyers to be at least somewhat worse.

Steven Colbert very gracefully handles this interview (if that is what happened on the view). He truly pays homage to his mother and the entire Colbert family in his actions, response, and the way he conducts his himself in this clip. That is the real content here. Massive respect for him as an individual, the filter he has presented through mainstream media to separate the intellectually absent from the perceptive in everyday life pretty much, and the accomplishments he has achieved in his professional career.

We don't understand his jokes, so we better bring up something tragic so he drops the character.

He's humerous with class...anyone who can show their love (of his mother, here) in their eyes...has a soul...a old enlightened soul....I admire him and like him so much more than I already did.
