It's Asian Americans like her who are the biggest problem to the Asian American community Is there racism against the Asian American community? Yes there is But it's reverse racists like her who pretends to speak up for Asian Americans when in reality she just wants the platform and spotlight that comes with it who really harms the credibility of other Asian Americans who are truly trying to speak up for their community Sadly she's hardly unique, most Asian Americans who pretends to speak up for Asian American issues don't actually give a shit, if not outright being reverse racists

    4 жыл бұрын

@@hopseshopsidis It's CBS... producers, network execs, censors, legal, writers, etc probably have too much say in the show. And especially now, there's a lot less going on every day to provide material for a monologue every 24hrs for 200+ shows a year except for the president's ever more frequent tweet storm binges. And lot of the viewers probably don't use twitter and even for people who do, following Trump can be exhausting. A comedic recap of his tweets is better than seeing it on the news or actually going on twitter and reading them yourself... Late night completely died when Stewart left TDS, Colbert Report ended, and Craig Ferguson left the late late show all around the same time. Letterman, Leno, Fallon, Kimmel, Colbert, and that fat douche Corden are all the same shitty shit. Seth and Conan are better but not great (except for Conan's remotes which are always fantastic). Spade was good so of course that died, and if picked up by a network will turn to shit. Watching all the old the late late shows with Ferguson on the jay leno fly's channel is still so much funnier and entertaining than any of the other late night shows past or present.

@drew pedersen They all suck during lockdown... Seth is the best of bleh/mediocre (like being the smartest retard...). check out the jay leno fly channel though if you didn't watch Craig Ferguson before. You'll realize how much the rest of late night sucks and regret not realizing how good Craig was and not watching while he was still on the air... He also LOVES America and values his citizenship but stays out of politics for the most part so can be enjoyed whether blue or red, which you can't find in late night these days.

The Late Show has a much larger audience and decades of pedigree to live up to than The Colbert Report. Much like the two Jimmy shows, they have to pander to the lowest common denominator to an extent to keep the views up and the sponsors/Network happy. Sort of like how you can cruise around carefree in a cheap beater car, but you better take extra care if grandpa lends you the keys to his mint condition 57 Chevy.

The worst that could happen is that he loses his Late Show gig and becomes even bigger online, but he's well-established enough and network TV is hemorrhaging money and talent to streaming and other nontraditional platforms to a sufficient degree that it's more likely the network would ultimately cave.

@@mh2120 Network TV is more like a 57 Chevy with an empty gas tank after all the gas stations have been replaced by EV charging ports. A smart, bold, and courageous personality with an established brand which is independent of his carrier would recognize this and go out of his way to exceed their demanded restraints, with little regard for how it might affect his bottom line, especially someone who came into it with as much money as Colbert had to begin with. Letterman was a symbol of this when he established the Late Show-it was basically founded on it, considering the circumstances of his departure from NBC. I was and remain honestly shocked that Colbert's totally failed to live up to his example, because it should have been easy for the latter to build on it instead.

His character was a crazy fun house mirror held up to the media and politicians, but now it's not even crazy ENOUGH for what's been happening. The question was "What political leaning do you truly believe Colbert has?" or something along those lines. Dems stated that they thought the Colbert report was a satire, and he is left leaning. Rep stated that they believed Colbert is conservative who pretends to be left after gaining the trust of the left during the Colbert report. Obviously they don't represent all Reps or Dems, but there are people who believe this is him being serious.

Say, for instance that someone has an opinion which is absolutely true but they themselves don't know that - that would make it both 100% an opinion and 100% factual. Example: Galileo was of the *opinion* that the earth orbited the sun. He then proved it as a fact. But surely doing so did not make him change his at the time rather controversial opinion. He was still of the opinion that the earth orbited the sun. And it was a fact that it did so even before it was proven. Ergo it was simultaneously an opinion and a fact. "Opinion" and "fact" are not necessarily two different points on the same scale. They can be, but it's not a given. In this case we're talking about something being "funnier" than something else. Comedy isn't easily quantifiable, so anything regarding to it will essentially be opinion. It may be *popular* opinion, and it may be an easily defended opinion, but that's not the same as being a fact. However, that doesn't mean that the two are *always* mutually exclusive either. Language - it's complicated!
