The problem with reading a book is that you have to set down your phone for longer than 5 minutes at a time. I take a book with me everywhere I go (because I hate waiting) and the biggest comment I get is, "I'd love to start reading more; I just can't find the time." It'd be interesting to see how much time they spend staring at screens every day.

There's a party scene at the opening of Dumas's La Dame de Monsoreau ("Chicot the Jester" in the US) and it probably was nowhere near like Tolstoy, but it still helped to watch a miniseries production of it to keep track of all the people haha

@@EmpyreanLightASMR If I recall correctly, the opening party scene in War & Peace is about 50 pages, so it's a bit more of a slog, helped along though by the fact that there is at least some intrigue going on. But if you can put up with that and get as far as the Battle of Borodino, you'll be able to finish it, no problem.

As a 24 year old avid reader and someone that uses dating apps I’d love if guys were actually reading. I love reading and if my partner read too it’d be awesome!

I used to read at least 2 3 books a day. Then the smart phone came out. I hated it at first ... still do but it got addictive... the screens are the issue. The men I date tend to be in their late 20s.. -I look super young for my age-they know their tictoks but know nothing else so I show them the world of books

I read well and read many articles and science publications.. but.... I could never find enjoyment from reading rather learning. I truly dislike reading and would rather watch a movie even though reading the book "sphere" was better becuase my imagination did better then the directors imagination imo lol. Though this is great seeing the youth enjoying reading in this technological age we live in.
