I'm a Cowboy fan since 1968. Last night game is a tipping point on bad calls during this season through out the NFL! This needs to be address by Roger Goddell! If not the NFL will lose fan support. Every since sports gambling became legal sad to say this will become the norm to meet the point spread so people can get paid!

Rodger has it in for Cowboys ever since Jerry jones tried to get him ousted for zeak suspension! The cowboys get everything close called against them, Parsons gets held all the time with no penalty calls and the o lineman gets holding calls all the time, no need to go on receivers get held, no calls!!!

The ref called a tripping penalty on Dallas but video shows it was the lions preventing them from running down the clock and even scoring. The game was called bad in general.

Allen should be fired ... along with Goddell. There was NO reason for him to RUN away from the Lions players without hearing them out completely. He's either LYING ... or beyond incompetent. Either way, follow the money ...

"No reason to run away" Occam's razor. Simplest explanation is that the last number the ref saw was 70 and he mistook 68 for 70. Either way, No excuse to try for 2 from 7 yards out on the next play.

Cowboys haters upset the Lions trick play didn’t work and went bad. Cowboys never informed he was eligible which is required they were told the other guy 70 was . It also should be a penalty if you report as eligible and don’t line up on the line of scrimmage as eligible. They also blew two other attempts and didn’t convert and could have played it out in OT but apparently weren’t confident they could win that way. In addition the tripping penalty the series before was a horrible bad call on the lions but called on the cowboys . . .wtf. . .that gave them time to even set it up. Cowboys always get more calls against them or get non calls than anyone yet no one says anything.

The ref.s didn't give the Cowboys a dirty win. They blew 2 calls ....one on tripping and on the 2 pt. conversoin.This crew is having a rough year officiating PERIOD! Teams and players were not at fault.

And let's not forget that Hendershot was called for a tripping penalty on Dallas's final drive which stalled the drive and lead to a Dallas field goal. The tripping penalty should have been called on Hutchinson but it wasn't. The refs sucked no doubt on both sides but Dallas won the game and Cee Dee Lamb used y'all all night long!

For everyone saying that the refs gave the game away,remember the last drive wouldnt even happen if the refs got the right call when a player tried to trip pollard. It was lions player not a dallas player. It wouldve given cowboys a free 1st down and lions only had one timeout. Lions failed twice in the end zone in the first half. They had 2 more chanced to go for one point in the end but didnt cos the coach is a meathead.But no one talks about that.

Dan just said in that post presser 2 can't report? But John Perry, ESPN Officiating analyst said 2 ppl CAN report? Why wouldn't the coaches know the rule. And according to NFL Rule 5, Section 3, Article 1, there is no limit to the number of players who can report as eligible on a given play, as long as they're NOT on the same side of the line(ball)!!! In other words, we got screwed! The ref should've waited and clarified it up before going to the Cowpokes defense.

The onus is on the player, as it should be, to ensure the Referee knows he's going to be an eligible receiver. The Referee then announces it, pre-play. The Referee announced #70 as eligible, but not #68. Riddle me this: If everyone on the Lions offense knew #68 was going to be a receiver, and the coaching staff, why did no one notify the official that #68 was also eligible? Hmmmm? Because they were trying to be SLICK and work in the grey area of the rulebook and it backfired. That's the truth, it's all on film.

If the refs would made the correct call, when cowboys player was flagged for tripping, after watching the replay Detroit was the one that was tripping. So being said cowboys would of ran out the clock. Detroit wouldn't got a chance to make the touchdown. Regardless Detroit played a great game

The NFL and most in the NFL media are trying to explain away this incident as to not be viewed as some rigging in favor of the Cowboys. This makes it harder to believe otherwise. I’m sure Cowboys fans don’t see it this way. This comes from NOT a Lions fan, just a fan of football.

Sloppy officiating is what even gave the lions a last possession on they flagged the wrong team for tripping.

The lions were trying to confuse the cowboys by having 3 players talking to the refs and it backfired and confused the refs.

They DID fool the refs, and the refs got PISSED and threw the flag 15 mins LATER.

The NFL wants Stafford vs Goff/LA vs Detroit and that Lions loss helps set that matchup. And if the Lions and Browns both do well early in the playoffs, don’t be surprised to see them pushing a Browns/Lions Super Bowl narrative. The NFL loves their storylines.

Did you watch the tape? Hutchenson try’s to trip Pollard but missed badly. So unless there’s a penalty for attempted tripping it didn’t happen. The call for tripping on Dallas was just bad officiating to keep the game close.

Decker said he reported. Now it is word against Decker and the Ref. Who you going to believe kind of situation. The Ref should have made sure who was reporting before running off. You dont want Decker to be that obvious when he is reporting.

Then why were Sewell and Skipper there? There is question about Skipper reporting as well. NOTHING saying Sewell did. If it makes NO sense why Decker would be there why would Sewell be there? Also Decker was covered up by a receiver to his left. Hutch falling back to his college roots.

I started watching this game and after the first quarter decided at halftime that I’m done with the nfl. This travesty confirms that I was correct.

The call is pointless to make unless the player who is ineligible touches the ball first. Had he dropped it there is no reason for the call because he never possessed the ball and the play is over so technically you are correct that they would not have made the call but not because they were cheating.

They call that then the cowboys keep the ball and run the clock out. so it was bad officiating on both sides. Not to mention the lions coach tried to be cute by going for it on 4th down on multiple occasions. Now the eagles lost against the cardinals. Take the L and move on. they announce who is eligible afterward. The thing about this scenario is, #70 had been doing it all game. It was a ploy to get the Cowboys used to him being the eligible man, in hopes they don't pay attention to the announcement, then Decker reports and they're caught sleeping. They don't listen for the announcement and play as usual, Decker is wide open. It's called "conditioning". It might not sound like much, but at the end of a long game, that's when you're tired and not always thinking correctly. Stuff like this works all the time.

I pray the Lions get to see the Cowboys in the playoffs at Ford Field. Heads will roll.

#1Hutchinson tripped Hendershot and Hendershot got called for it which would have effectively ended the game right there. #2 Lions had 2 following chances to score or kick a XP, they did neither. #3 Even in your perfect world where the 2pt. stands, Dallas had more than enough time to get in FG range to win regardless. Skip Bayless got it all wrong... He got Taylor Decker (#68) and Dan Skipper (#70) mixed up!!!!! Decker did report, he's seen touching his jersey, Referee Brad Allen claims Dan Skipper reported but Brad Allen is seen walking away before Dan Skipper ever gets there!! Brad Allen was told of the plays (fake punt AND tackle eligible) in the pre-game meeting by Dan Campbell. Campbell said, "I explained it to a tee", which is common before every game where the officiating crew checks with both head coaches if there will be any "trick" plays they need to be aware of. Referee Brad Allen blew this game for the Lions and needs to admit his mistake as should the NFL. This cost the Lions the #2 seed and possibly the #1 seed!!

Here's the thing. I believe that he reported, but the ref did not hear him. If the ref hears him, and tells the cowboys that he is eligible, the play might not have worked. The cowboys would have either kept him on the line, or covered him, and no two point conversion anyway!!

And capable and making are 2 different things. Especially for game winner and they would have to get there on 1 timeout not 2 or 3 like people seem to think. And i never said they couldn’t but gotta play it out. 2 point shoulda counted. But we also shoulda kicked xp after ref botched it and we got backed up and THAT is 100 on Dan Campbell.

The fact is, the deceptive play that Dan had in his back pocket and was setting up for it perfectly the whole game, was too confusing for Allen to understand. Allen looked right at decker and nodded his head in acknowledgment, but apparently he thought decker was 70 again? Idk. Allen wasn’t paying attention and was rushing to get to the D line the whole time. The video doesn’t lie.

As a high school ref, we don't have to deal with linemen reporting as eligible. However, Ref Allen screwed up in not acknowledging #68 as eligible. And as you look at the video of the crew getting together, the rest of them probably said, "holy sh--, which guy was eligible?" The crew dumped on Allen and he had to make his call...sad to see....

Lets not forget the phantom tripping penalty on hendershot that killed the cowboys drive prior to the lions last drive. If that fake tripping call was ignored like it should have been, the cowboys would have been able to put that game away. Refs are terrible. Lets not act like this game was lost just because of the 2 point conversion. Not to mention Micah being held all night and another missed call on the Cowboys for pass interference. Both teams got shafted by the refs. The best team won in the end.

Check out the missed tripping call that went against Dallas instead of Detroit. Would have made the other call irrelevant anyway

when have you known the Cowboys to win in a situation like that? I can't remember the last time they've ever won a game like that. There's a reason why most people think the game was over, Dallas has a big track record of choking, and not coming through in those situations.

Not necessarily. Certain numbers are reserved for ineligible receivers on offense. In the NFL, If a player with one of those numbers intends to line up in a formation so that he would be eligible, he has to report to the referee before the play. At other levels of play, someone with the ineligible numbers cannot be eligible no matter what.

I was rooting for players on both teams rather than on one team, and was surprised the ref totally ignoring players coming on board for the next snap, when watched on a slow replay. That game was a Lion's winned game

If the Refs called tripping on DET with 2 mins left the game is over. Bad calls all around

I WAS AT THE GAME. READ THIS IF YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED FOR REAL. For perspective, we were sitting in the corner of the end zone facing the Lions and the Cowboys had their backs to us. 68 and 58 Decker and Sewell went to the referee and said whatever they said. AS THE REF WALKED AWAY, 70 Dan Skipper was on his way over, NEVER got close enough to say anything to the ref before the ref walked away. Here’s the best part; I saw the ref tell the cowboys defense “SEVENTY IS ELIGIBLE” (THE MISTAKE) I literally read his lips. It was LOUD. I didn’t even put anything together until I got back to my hotel because in the stadium you don’t fully realize exactly what happened. SO, the Lions won the game, but they lost because the ref just said the wrong number. PERIOD. That’s it. 70 reported eligible 2 other times during the game so the ref may have just had 70 on the brain. That’s what happened. Nothing more, nothing less. I was there, I saw it happen 50 feet from me. My question is this; What if this happens in the Super Bowl? It already has now effected seeding in the NFC AND a Division championship has been literally changed. AND the Lions get an L for a game they won. This is a BAD deal for them. Really bad.

As a cowboys fan I can say they shouldn’t have won. Karma is real what about the bad call they made on our tight end that neglected a positive play not to mention CD fumbling going in end zone

Now that "sports gambling" is now legal in pretty much all the States expect to see more "bad calls, payola and looking the other way" in ALL sports now. There is to much money in sports gambling each week (millions) so "bad calls" etc will be the new "norm". Why is everybody surprise ?!?!

This ain't the only game that has been decided by a bad refs call...but because it's the Cowboys...of course it's blown out of proportion... anyone remember the non pass interference call against the Rams that denied the Saints a trip to a Superbowl....far worser than this call and im a life long Cowboys fan. 💯

Skip was actually correct - until the end of his video. The Cowboys are NOT where they need to be - they should be treating this as a loss. They lost the game on the field, because of McCarthy's bad play calling and clock management (as usual), and the inability to stop the Lions' final drive. It was pure luck that they got the call, and that Goff threw a terrible pass on the final try. If this team thinks they're ready, they won't have to worry about the 49ers - the 'Boys will be going home after the first round.

This is also the same ref who cheated Dak out of a touchdown a couple of years ago against the Commanders. Stop thinking that there is bias for Dallas when Brad Allen and his team have always been kryptonite for the Cowboys. Maybe if players and all of these sport shows would speak up and call out the refs more then things like this wouldn't happen. I give props to Micah for speaking out on a consistently blatant problem with holding calls on him not being called. Everyone told Micah to stop complaining and whining and now everyone is complaining and whining about this play. Make it make sense. As a Cowboys fan, I'm going to say stop complaining and whining when things don't go your way.

Aren’t the referees supposed to report over the loudspeaker who is reporting eligible, before the ball is snapped?

Let's not fail to mention the ball was dropped on the third conversion attempt

People are missing the point. #68 was wide open because the defense was never informed he was eligible. Even if the refs did exactly what Detroit wanted, then they would have informed the defense #68 was eligible and they would covered him.

Lions got screwed! Just like in the playoffs against Dallas in 14…I hope there’s a rematch caus the LONS will punish Dallas!

First off, the Cowboys didn’t steal anything. The refs are to blame for this if AND only if the Lions didn’t try to play little tricks to trick the Cowboys. Second, the Lions had 3 total opportunities to score the 2 point conversion and failed on 66% of the attempts. Plain and simple, the Lions outsmarted themselves and are just playing victim right now. They had plenty of opportunities to seal the victory by kicking for field goals rather than going for it on 4th & yards to go. That is a coaching problem. Never give a chance ti the officials to determine a game….there will always be a loser in that.

Why did three linemen go to the ref when only one is reporting.

to be stealth, the coach sends a total of three ol towards the ref. #70 reported as he was supposed to. The other two, #68,#58 sort of approached ref as if they were going to tell him of intention of #68 to be eligible. By sending a few at same time the defense may be confused as to which one reported of the three offensive lineman. Defense must be notified of the eligible lineman, as well as the other requirements for a flawless success. Formation is also important because one usually eligible receiver on same side, must take one step back n line up "off ball" or play gets nullified. The main thing was no more than one lineman should have reported to ref, and #70 did so, #68 did not. End of story. W is a W! Happy New Year!!

The refs blew it.Just that simple.Thats been a main stay with refs all season.They blows it,and it has ramifications on the season and playoffs.

the starting left tackle, reported to officials and Dan Skipper, a backup offensive tackle, did not. Skipper said he didn't report to an official. Two players can't report to be eligible receivers on the same play

NFL rule book states that at least seven offensive players must be up on the line of scrimmage. This typically includes all five offensive linemen and then two skill-position players. They only had 6 so no matter what its a flag.

The realoty is that the league and their officials have made football nearly unwatchable for the past 20 years. It's wrong to see bad calls become so prevalent . This doesn't help with rigging conspiracies given the refs defiant response.

Why did the other two lineman walk up to the official why did three lineman walk up to the official and then you have to deal with 68 being cover at the line he still would have been inegeliable

The eligible receiver must be uncovered but he was not, so he is ineligible, the WR was on the line he had to be in the backfield and was not

How is the Cowboys fault the wrong player reported, number 70 reported and 68 didn't.

The ref blew the game welcome to how we cowboy fans feel since now we have gone 42 quarters without micah getting a holding call. But we are told dont be a crybabie, so lions welcome to how we feel.

Last clip: Sewell was also right in front of the ref, does that mean he also reported? Since how could they not report standing right there, right? Look it sucks, I'm confident Dallas gets into FG range with 23 secs left and wins anyways, but the point is Detroit got cute and got burnt. It happens. Happened to Dallas in SF, in the playoffs. You had 2 plays AFTER the fact to either 2pt or XP and the Lions did neither. You lost.

Who cares about that play…nobody is talking about the play around twos minutes when Dallas was call for clipping but it’s was a Detroit player….that was the end of the game right there

Question: if the ref tells the defense who is eligible then what the need for the offense being sneaky about it when talking to the ref.

Technically the cowboys have lost two straight games to fumbling in the end zone
