@@SnowboardJedi I was watching that live when it happened; the announcers (Joe Buck in particular) stated that #68 (the called ineligible receiver on the play) was over there but may not have checked in. Just because he walked over we can't say he checked in. On the other hand, I'm not going to rule out that he did and it got called anyway. Not to mention how loud of an environment it is. Home field advantage is what it is because it makes it incredibly difficult to hear, not just for the players but for the refs as well. That being said, if this result happened in Detroit where the stadium would be much quieter, then I would be 100% calling rigging... but I can't rule it out even here. #70 declared on that same play, just not #68...

That was one of the strangest games I've ever watched. That Lions run defense is no joke. Lamb HAD to have a game like that for Dallas to win. So many odd plays, the long TD, the fumble touch back, that Goff missile. Great game to watch even if I didn't have a dog in the fight.

No one brings that up or Lions in illegal formation. They somehow have this weird outlook that refs help Dallas , when if you watch every Dallas game, nothing could be further from the truth.

If we had sacked dak in the end zone and got a safety it really wouldn’t have been close. But that’s not how it played out. Essentially we’re both talking about completely different futures and outcomes. Who knows if he hadn’t fumbled maybe the lions would have turned it up and ran the score up.

Listen, I'm going to defend Dan on continuing to go for 2 (well, for two out of the three attempts, going for it at the 7 was insane). They are at such a massive disadvantage in terms of field goal units, their odds were pretty awful on winning in OT. But why were they so shy about going to DMont in the red zone? That part I don't understand. Not using your best weapon in that scenario just feels wild to me. Really does feel they are a little too committed to subverting expectations, when they have the talent to win with more conventional strategies.

Yeah that illegal touching call was bs. I think the cowboys were the better team this game but they should have lost based on how they called the 4th quarter. I can't believe he still went for the win after being pushed back. But then to fail on the play, get another chance to rethink it and then STILL go for it again is crazy. Maybe he was trying to show his faith in the offense but it came off like having almost no faith in the defense

I respect the 2 point try on the 1st attempt but this man went for it 2 more times after that. Like the universe was telling Dan Campbell to just kick the extra point but Dan was like nah, I already committed to it. I'm convinced he would have gone for it if they got backed up 10-15 yards.

You go for the win on the road. If it was good enough to go for the first time... and you were successful despite a BS call that the ref felt they somehow owed the Cowboys... then it's good enough to go for, period.

They showed it on the broadcast that he did NOT check in as eligible and also even if he had, he was not covered up which would have been a different penalty with the same outcome. Yeah, refs have sucked this year, but this wasn't one of those times.

@@NewYears1978 He did check in. There is video of it. Decker reported. Skipper did not. The ref thought it was Skipper and so called Decker for the penalty. The other flags were based on thinking Skipper reported... which he didn't... which means NO FOULS. Easy peasy... unless you're a ref paid to help the Cowboys win at home. Your confusion or purposeful ignorance doesn't change the facts. They even had a pregame conference with the refs about that exact play so the refs wouldn't be confused... and yet... they still were. You're just wrong, and so were the refs.

I'm not a fan of either team, but it is 110% clear that this game was given to Dallas. There isn't any argument to the contrary. That's the most openly corrupt call I've ever seen in any sport.

Had Lamb not fumbled away a TD and the receivers not dropped at least 5 other passes, Dak would've been 32 of 38 for about 450 yds + another TD. They can't run on top 10 defenses and none of the RB's are special.

No it definitely made sense to go for the win. You go to overtime and the momentum dies/shifts along with the cowboys being at home and our secondary not being able to cover lamb.

Hopefully it'll be Browns vs Lions in super bowl.

I was at the game and I respect Dan Campbell for going for 2 and the W with that creative play where it seems like he definitely told the ref he was eligible, but I can’t understand why he didn’t kick it and go to OT the first time because they were on the 7 yard line and goal to go. Give yourself a chance to win in OT. The craziest part is I actually walked out of the stadium pissed thinking the Cowboys had lost and only realized it wasn’t over when I saw the TV’s outside AT&T stadium and they were still playing. Stayed for the end, and I’ll admit even as a Cowboys fan, the Lions got screwed.

I thought the INT at 2 minutes was the end and turned it off.

Not a fan of either team, but where is the accountability for the ref? What an enormous bad call that cost the Lions a win and a higher seed. Refs should not decide the outcome of the game, but always do unfortunately.

I understand but remember, the refs told the Cowboys that 70 was eligible. Micha Parsons gets held every game, literally. It was just Dallas' time. The Lions had two more chances. Part of the game unfortunately.

Even if 68 reported as eligible he was still covered so he couldn’t run a route. It’s a penalty either way. There’s literally nothing to complain about.
