Stephen A! In all this discussion, you forget to mention Curry’s went 73-9.. and unanimously won Mvp. It’s like we treat it like it never happened. They lost in the finals. But give my boy Stephen Curry credit for what he did in 2016 as well! Best record of all time. And he lost to the 1 and only LBJ!

That lost to LBJ was helped by the refs. Also they let Cleveland foul, grab, scratch, bump, shove, hold Curry to no end...which they can affect shooters ability to shoot. He's only 6'3, all that physical harrasment can have a bigger impact on smaller players. They need to stop letting defenders cheat like that.

I'll always put Steph ahead of Durant. Durant's biggest achievement was joining Steph's team to cover some holes after 2016 (which is the same year KD lost to Steph). More rings, more MVPs and much greater impact to the game.

I hear you, the year KD lost 3-1 lead to Steph was the same year GS lost 3-1 lead to a healthy Cavs. The first ring GS got was against a lone Lebron without Kyrie and Love. If you take that into consideration. Now look at Russell Westbrick, where is he without KD? The fact that KD carried that Thunder team to the final is amazing. The core GS team is definitely very strong, but skill level its hard to say Steph is better than KD even though he's the best shooter. You live and die with the 3s and it's pretty bad to see Steph's off nights..

Do you not take the finals mvp in account. KD join the team and became there best player instantly. Kd had to deal with Westbrook for more than half his career and look how far he got them. The biggest mistake for the thunders was to let James go instead of Westbrook. If they let Westbrook go, then James would have to play his natural position of point guard. James is a better natural passer than Westbrook.Unlike Westbrook, James don’t force passes and get turnovers. James does try to force fouls but who can blame him.

Not to mention came back from a 3-1 lead on KD in the west finals. Durant: 1 Finals loss, 1 MVP, 4 scoring titles. Curry has had better team success as well as better individual success, hence Kevin Durant joined Steph Curry, not the other way around.

That’s why the guy in the main comment won’t count KD’s rings, but he counts Steph’s lol. The point is steph has one ring without that team where he got to play a injury stricken team, and weirdly enough, steph didn’t win FMVP. LeBron has never won a ring without clearly being the best player, especially in the finals. You even gave LeBron credit for two rings still yourself using the same logic. Because putting pressure on Steph Curry is easier than KD. KD is 7 feet when he lifts up and shoots he's shooting a like 9-10 feet easy so he's basically in the clear shooting it's a huge advantage for KD and he's the best to do it at his size and length. Steph in that series went more point guard mode imo.

Steph is absolutely my favorite player in the league right now. He's the best player in the league at his position and should be in the MVP conversation pretty much every year he's healthy. That being said, I would have him ahead of KD at #11 (KD being at #12) but not quite top 10 yet. If the Warriors win the chip this year, he'll be top 10. All the top 10 guys have at least one Finals MVP, so as much as I hate that narrative, I do agree that he'll need at least one to crack the top 10 (I'm assuming he'll be the Finals MVP if the Warriors win the chip this year, because that's the only way they win it, in my opinion). Edit: Steph is now #7 on my list, ahead of Shaq, Bird, and Russell, and just behind Duncan.

That's 9 people, which leaves an open slot at No. 10, and I do think Curry is a part of that conversation, alongside Oscar Robertson, Duncan, Hakeem and maybe Julius Irving. I'd probably still have Oscar and Hakeem ahead of Steph, at least. I don't think Durant is a part of that conversation, as skilled as he is, he'd have to prove he can do it on his own over the course of his career. I have Duncan ahead of Shaq for sure. Duncan and LeBron is close for sure. But Duncan got 5 and was a better defender throughout. My top 6 is always 1. Jordan 2. Russell 3. Kareem 4. Wilt 5. Magic 6. Bird

@bLIZKA That's fine & true. Magic is just slightly more iconic in the grand scheme. Only By a smidge but both are important and are literally intertwined in history. You can't tell one story without the other. They're interchangeable.

Curry changed the way the game is played, undisputed greatest shooter of all time But aint no way he top 10 MJ, Lebron, Kareem, Wilt, Magic, Duncan, Kobe, Shaq, Bird, Hakeem all have a FAR better resume and that's just off the top of my head

It's insane how disrespected Larry is. Stehen A. made an argument for putting KD ahead of Bird and listed off some of KD's accolades, but the funny thing is, almost everything he listed off Larry has more of. Championships 3 to KDs 2 League MVPs 3 to KDs 1 FMVPs 2 to 2. Scoring titles 0 to KDs 4 Now you factor in all nba teams 1st teams : 9 to KDs 6 Total selections: 10 to KDs 9 Defensive selections: 3 to KDs 1 Now if you want to say KD would beat Larry 1 on 1 thats fine, but in terms of all time greatness, it's Larry by a mile. And that's not even taking into account that KDs rings and FMVPs are tainted and that Larry's rivalry with magic carried basketball through the 80's, meanwhile KD was never actually Lebron's rival and it was pretty clear cut that this was Lebron's era. Larry should be top 5, not being considered for bumping out of the top 10.

Not only Bird but Hakeem also. You notice something beacuse i also notice this narative in last ten years. If you remember Bird and Hakeem is considered always top 10 player ever, Bird in early 00s considered top 5 and even top 3 player with Magic and Jordan. I remember that and only player after 00s who can put above Bird and Hakeem is Lebron. And somehow in last ten years Bird is bottom 10 and Hakeem not ten. This is narative with new generation. I mean, Bird considered many years better player then Magic.

@@markozbunjol625 I personally have Hakeem in my top 10. I do think he's becoming forgotten but he was pretty clear cut the 2nd best player of the 90s, even if he declined at the end. But there are a lot of dudes near the end of the top 10 that can be argued that deserve to be there, so I understand why some people would not have him. With Larry it just seems like pure disrespect.
