He is top 10 EASILY. It would be easier on everyone to make this list if you judged them on what they ended their careers on. So for hakeem, he was top 3 in blocks, rebounds, and steals when he retired. Still number one in blocks. Top 10 i believe in pts as well. Makes his case sound a bit stronger.

I will never hold the GS losses against LeBron. Ever. But the reason I could never put him above MJ, is solely because of the Heat vs. Mavericks Finals. That finals loss is worse than if LeBron loss 5 straight to the Warriors. Especially after him and Wade were mocking Dirk when he was sick.

no, there are not 15-20 players who have a solid argument for top 10. top 3 is easy jordan, lebron and jabbar, maybe oneal (i know a lot of people act like oneal is not all that and they are wrong, oneal is stronger than any center ever and the most dominant center ever and when chamberlain was playing against 6 feet 8 center, oneal was playing against olayjuwon, ewing, robinson and duncan). so after those 4, guys like chamberlain, durant, bryant, duncan, russell, bird should come into talk. durant, very underrated, arguably the third best shooter ever, in terms of talent, arguably the third most talented player ever only behind jordan and james. bryant, also underrated, people put him outside the top, when he in his prime made 81 points in one game and looked like goat. closest player to jordan. thats 10. curry is overrated. he is lucky durant came and they build that super team to win 2 rings, otherwise james wouldve got those 2 rings, all he does is shoot because he is to afraid to go to the rim, 3 point is his comfort zone.

Coming back from being down 3-1 against KD? 17 points in over time against Portland? Not clutch? There are plenty of clutch steph moments in the playoffs. And durant was so “dominant” because no one dared leave steph and klay in those finals runs. Every superstar in nba history would have been that dominant, if they had the greatest shooting back court in the history of the game on either wing. Look at the coverage steph face in those finals vs the coverage durant faced. Kevin had an open highway to the basket, because the cavs were more worried about curry. And what has Kevin done without steph? Ex out his years with curry, and his career is similar to harden and Westbrook. 1 mvp, ZERO championships. Not knocking him, but the nonsense being spewed about those finals, is crazy. “Sports analysts” lol.

Scottie Pippen shouldn't smell those lists. The Duo of Jordan and Pippen in the finals turned into a Dirk /a declined Shawn Marion type of Duo. Jordan averaged 20ppg more than Pippen in 1993 and 18 more in 1998. The least he ever averaged more than Scottie was 10.7 more. Always a higher FG%(in 1991 by 11%), always a higher 3pt%, higher FT% in finals, always a higher defensive ranking in finals. This happened every finals they went. That was not a Kg/Pierce duo like in 08' or Bron/Wade duo in 13' where Bron and Pierce barely edged out as the MVP. Jordan dominated and made the finals his own personal playground. That was like a Hakeem in the 90s when it came to those finals. It was Jordan and the Crew. Not Jordan+ Pippen and the crew.

Steph is a clutch points leaders. He sat out dozens of 4th quarters. Being the unanimous best SHOOTER in history for a while now, and of short stature the coverages he faces in end-of-game situations are almost unparalleled. The priority of getting the ball outta his hands or make the shot as tough as possible. All that has to be factored into his greatness. And mj Kobe kd and lebron are all more offensively skilled and honestly have more IQ. It’s not just their physicals. They have post games and they utilize the mid range in the closing moments which is why they’re better in those situations than steph because a mid is a higher percentage shot and more reliable. Ya know, I've got a legitimate question regarding Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. No disrespect to anyone here, but how is Magic Johnson consistently 3-5 slots above Larry Bird on all time lists. I wasnt around during that era but being able to watch old games and look back at both of their careers in their entirety, I dont see how the gap between Magic and Bird is that large on a lot of list. When you compare them head to head Bird was better in most aspects of the game. Scoring and rebounding for sure and, as many all time greats have noted, they are both all time great passers. Maybe Magic gets a slight edge in that one, but Bird is often mentioned along side Magic and Lebron for best superstar passers ever. Defensively neither of them were all time great stoppers, but Bird does have 3 all defensive selections while Magic has 0. The only edge I think Magic has is in 2 more chips and 1 more FMVP but is that really enough to put him 3-5 slots ahead of Bird? To me, just comparing the two directly, that seems a bit absurd. Maybe it has to do with Magic just being a more likeable and engaging personality than Bird who is often quite aloof but I dont see how the gap between those two specifically is that large just based on Basketball. Maybe someone can better explain it too me. Is there something I'm missing here?

After Magic retired, he was never considered a top 5 all-time player. His ranking on the all-time list seems to have gone up over the years for one main reason: When great players of the past 20 years are asked for their top 5, Magic is always on there. They don't mention someone like Oscar Robertson( who was better than Magic). Magic can not be in the top 5. He did not play defense at all. Probably the worst defender of any all-time great that I can think of. For that reason alone, he should not be in the top-5. Bird was not a great defender but he made a lot more plays on defense than Magic. He was also a better shooter, rebounder and scorer. Bird was a great passer as well. Magic has more assists as he was a point guard and always had the ball. The only real edge I give Magic over Bird is as a ball handler. Magic should not be ranked higher than Bird on any list in my opinioin.

Steph for the championships and the reg season MVPs doesn't have a finals MVP to his name that does leave a slight blemish. The Steph effect is real though the threat he poses and the spacing he generates is top of the food chain. Even though I said 11-20 range i'd honestly put him extremely close to the top ten and I do believe if they win this year and he gets that finals MVP that evaded him that'll catapult him into the top 10 no questions asked, easy, any day of the week. Which is very doable, and dude gets the bonus nod of being a game and league altering presence with his excellence. Pro sports doesn't have that many trailblazers and he's beyond immortalized already because of his volume and amazing 3 point shooting percentage and the range he can hit them at. I think it's extremely hard to put Curry in the same breath as many greats in the top 20 because of Klay & KD helping him succeed the way he did but that's just me. There needs to be a better criteria because a lot of what is said now is just flat out ridiculous.
