Shaq got swept twice with 1st team All-NBA guard Penny Hardaway in 95 and 96. SWEPT. No shame in losing to Hakeem or MJ, but he couldn't get one game. Dude has a borderline perfect career. Kenny didn't list out his full ten though, and Chuck put a lot of weight on older players not named Bill and Wilt. Don't think he was too disrespected, but, I personally have Duncan in the 5-8 range.

The way Shaq took his glasses off to hear Chuck properly.. I felt that.

The disrespect Tim Duncan gets is ridiculous. No one even mentioned him and he's a lock for a top 10 spot. The man is 1 greatest shot in NBA playoffs away from being 6-0 just like MJ, best power forward ever, leader of a dynasty and consistent but because he's not flashy and played for the "broccoli" Spurs gets penalized in these list discussions.

No player who said he uses the regular season to get in shape for the playoffs deserves to be on a Top 10 List. Shaq said that. Shaq did that.

I love Ernie Johnson Jr, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal.

Duncan and Hakeem are always criminally underrated. I'd take both over Shaq. Personally, I have Shaq in the 10-15 range, so I'm right there with Chuck. But that's not a criticism; being top 15 means you were a remarkable player and legend.

@@jvr6809 Duncan has more titles than Shaq, more league MVPs, more All-NBA selections, and WAY more All-Defensive Team selections. There's a reason ESPN ranked Duncan (#8) ahead of Shaq (#10). But don't let facts get in the way of your losing argument.

@@jvr6809 Tim Duncan is better than Shaq. In every metric, except maybe dominance, Tim Duncan was a better player. He was a better player on both Offense and Defense. He was a better leader. He was more accomplished in both the regular season and the post season, and has more accolades overall. Shaq was a dominating player, but Tim Duncan has the hardware to back him up in everything relating to basketball.

@@jvr6809 duncan: more rings, never played with a top 25 player, more consistent, higher longevity, better defensive player. Taking duncan every time, and hakeem is one of the only players to drag his team to the finals without another star AND win a chip. 2nd year he had clyde. Hakeem went through the mvp david Robinson AND shaq for the 1st one. No way im taking shaq over hakeem!

shaq played against duncan and robinson in a playoff series and dominated them both. in his prime shaq destroyed them both, but duncan had the longevity and hence the better career. Better basketball player? hard to tell very subjective

Hakeem played in the most competitive era in his position and he dominated all of them. Ridiculous not to have him in the top 10. Remember that Shaq dominated in an era where all the dominant Centers where gone or past their primes.

The 90's were an expansion league and Hakeem won AFTER Jordan left. The 90's were watered down Hakeem is a top end big man, a shade behind Shaq, Kareem, and Duncan. Don't lie though Hakeem was never the best player in a competitive league.

I'm with yall that Olajuwon is top 10 all time. He's a top 3 defender and a top 5 offensive big. I'm just saying he got one of the most talent poor chips. The teams he beat were pretty atrocious and is why he's the 4th greatest big man ever. If he got his chips in more competitive eras he could fight Shaq and Duncan, but he didn't

Actually, Shaq's 08-09 which was 2 years before he retired, he was 3rd team all nba at 37. I don't know why he ever left Phoenix, he was rejuvenated there- played 75 games.

@@Mistahollywood0 crazy talk. Hakeem was insanely better on the defensive side of the ball. First in blocks, 9th in steals as a center, 2 time dpoy, 9 time defensive player of the year. And offensively its about even. Shaq is 8th in pts but hakeem is 11th. Hakeem and shaq are 14th and 15th in rebounds so thats even too. But steals while hakeem is 9th shaq isnt even top 250. Blocks hakeem is 1st shaq is 9th. So the gap of those 2 defensive stats give hakeem a large edge.

Chuck's top 10 is actually solid af for those who know basketball past 1990.

This is why it’s so hard to create a list of the greatest players in the nba since there are so many different great players who affected the game differently, played differently, excelled in different parts, number of accolades, and other circumstances, the only thing that I see is common in these lists is that MJ is number one most of the time.

Kareem is better than Jordan. Kareem won 3 titles in high school, 3 titles in college and then 6 titles in the NBA along with countless records. Kareem won wherever he was his entire career. Jordan was more flashy but Kareem was way more accomplished.

@@bencarlson4300 Kareem was the best player multiple times when he won in the 80s. And Magic was also one of the best all time players. Pippen never would have been the best with the Bulls. He wasn’t that type of an offensive player. But he sure was the best perimeter defender they had. Made Jordans life a lot easier. And the Bulls were stacked with other talent too. Either way, Kareem had a much more decorated career at all levels of the game.

@@dlakerguy Factoring in that Jordan was 6’6” and played a lot less total basketball, Jordan, to me, looks more accomplished. If you play longer, you do more, same reason LeBron is going to pass Kareem in points soon.

Both of those lists make sense. I understand what Kenny is saying. His centers would dominate todays game. Charles had a great list too. Everybody forgets about the Big O and Jerry West.

Shadow Flame 30 6 and 6 next to shaq’s 32 and 12..... not much carrying there🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ also an all star in his second season coming off the bench, also he was 23 years old when he got 3 rings! He was a puppy for god’s sake you idiots hahahahaha.... then has a horrible team with kwame, smush, walton, brian cook..... then finally has a decent team and proved everyone wrong winning twice repeating.... his final years he played 6 games 34 games and then 54 games..... he didnt have the same opportunities as other legends at the start of his career and suffered un-playable injuries his whole career and still look at all the total numbers, accolades and records he broke.... also nobody talks about his defense.... 12 defensive all nba teams... thats second all time.... 9 times the first team.... thats tied for most all time with jordan..... and everybody’s favorite boy lebron only got 5 of those....... kobe also got every laker record except for rebounds and assists.... he averaged for career 25 5 5..... not much of a ball hog for his primary role being scorer...... he is the player which worked the most to study and try to make his game as perfect as possible.... even tho im not gonna put him over mj or kareem, he is my goat
