That's not what he saying though. He means that if we have to go somewhere worth 20 dollars of gas, don't fill full but when it goes to half fill 20 dollars worth. It has no advantage though as when u come back from the journey the gas will go down to less than half.

He didn't say it would be full after filling up with $20 at the half-point, he said I don't know how many times it would get up to the three-quarters mark. All he's saying is that psychologically filling up $20 at a time would be better than one complete fill-up at around $80 when it's almost empty

It’s because Shaq is arguing the original problem, while they are arguing the math. The original problem is Kenny hates paying 80$ for gas. Shaq is saying if you stop more and put lower amounts of cash in, even tho you’re paying the same amount you don’t feel like you paid such a high lump sum.

Also Chuck in 93 missed his assignment which lead to Paxson being wide open, the samething happened in 97 when Stockton hit the game winner.

But, it’s still the same amount of gas you’re spending the same frame of time. Say you put in $80 for 8 days, vs $20 for 2 days. It’s the same amount however you wanna break it down. The problem with gas is the cost per gallon, not how expensive it is to fill up your car vs not filling up your car.

Shaq also doesn't understand that many vehicles are not 100% proportional when displaying the amount of fuel that is left in the tank. Many cars will get more than 50% of the average mileage, and the fuel gauge will not actually show that 50% was used.

Shaq is actually correct for 2 reasons.... 1 you burn more fuel driving the same speed below half. 2. You save more $ in your bank longer if you spend 80 on monday you will have less money in your acct than 20 each 2 days then its more than a week that you spent another 80. Plus you get to keep more $ in your acct.

Shaq is TERRIBLE at math. A full tank is $80 in his example but a half a tank costs $20 lol. He's talking in circles trying to make sense out of an example that don't add up 🤦🏿‍♂️

If you don’t want to pay 80$ in full up your tank instead of letting your tank go down to zero let it get to half and pay less so instead of 80 it’ll be 20 to 40$ depending on your car

He never did. Not once. Ever. Ernie and Kenny haven't been listening the whole time. All he's been saying, is that, Kenny (who lives just down the road from the studio) just needs to top up with a bit of gas every now n then - when the tank gets down to halfway; which sounds like it happens once a week... - that's all he's been saying. Kenny and Shaq have been having 2 different arguments at the same time.

@@Noctifern no he’s not. It takes 40 to fill his car up and he only had to stop twice and put 10 each time. That’s only 20. Basically shaq saying don’t drive until it get down to empty. Top it off at half full.

People have this argument all of the time. Its nuts regardless of who is debating it. The only part missing was how much gas the AC uses. When people get to that level in the debate it is completely off the rails 🤣

Lol running the AC does use gas tho. The alternator is what provides the energy for your AC & that is powered by the engine

Rolling the windows down increases drag and slows the car down as well using more fuel so unless you're just gonna roll around in the heat with windows up and ac off it doesn't make much difference..

@@liveinlovealways Wrong. The a/c runs off the serpentine belt, LIKE an alternator does. The alternator provides 12v power to the car, yes, but it doesn't "run" the a/c. Having said that, the a/c running off the serpentine belt puts more of a load on the engine to turn the a/c compressor and in turn uses more fuel. But the a/c doesn't "use" fuel to run and it doesn't "run off" the alternator power either.

I hope these guys never stop arguing about this. It's the funniest thing I've heard in years.
