LeBron James “competes” between the out of bounds lines on the basketball court. Therefore he is criticizing the guy’s in-game drive…his actions & demeanor while in a professional capacity. Again, to me, that is professional and not personal. Had Charles said LeBron doesn’t want to compete because he was dating, and didn’t go on a second date with a girl he was interested in because she went on a date with another guy 3 days before…well, that would be personal and not professional.

“I did some stupid things in my life, that doesn’t make my argument less valid“ Exactly, Charles Barkley strictly discussed basketball, and LeBron James didn’t like what he had to say, so he instead decided to sling ad hominem attacks at Charles Barkley. Imagine being Charles, one of the greatest of all time, getting constantly put down for never getting a ring despite almost single-handedly bringing your team to the finals and losing to Michael Jordan, and seeing the 2nd best player in history complain about lack of talent with two other all stars and co-champions as teammates. Of course you’re going to say something. It’s your job to say something and then Lebron comes back and acts like you just insulted his mother and his manhood and tries to tear you down as a human being. I love Lebron but that was one of his worst moments. Really the perfect addition to his over-sensitive reputation.

He will have a cringy handshake with you and after the game he will go on and trade you behind your back. Say what you want about mj and kobe but they always pushed their teammates to the limits they may seem like sociopats to us but they ultimately made their teammates winners. And honestly I would rather have teammate who will insult me and scream at me if I suck and ultimatley make me a winner than a teammate who is all nice than goes and trades you behind your back.

Are you stupid or are you stupid? This video was from 2017, the season right after Kevin Durant joined the 73-9 Warriors. Lebron made the statement because his team got worse while the best regular season team in NBA history just added the 2nd best player in the world. Lebron's not worried about the rest of the competition, the guy has owned the East since 2012, and he's only focused on Golden State and the Championship. Charles Barkley not thinking the Cavs needed more to beat the Warriors is still in the top 3 dumbest takes he's ever had. Later in the finals, despite Lebron being the first player in NBA history to average a 34-point triple-double on great efficiency, the Cavs got gentlemen swept in the finals against a Warriors team that ONLY LOST ONE GAME the entire postseason. Also, he said he wouldn't make it personal, then proceeded to state that "Lebron doesn't want to compete." How is that not personal? Dumb asf comment.

Charles was actually correct and Shaq was 100% wrong. People act like LeBron is half god and can't be criticized, goodness why do so many people kiss his ass so much? I have family that get angry with me because I criticize his game sometimes. Sports is about analyzing, and everybody doesn't see the game the same way. Now he's down and out with the Lakers injured, but he went out behind the scenes and recruited Anthony Davis to save himself from criticism from leaving Cleveland. I like the dude, but damn he acts like a straight up pussy sometimes. He made PERSONAL attacks on Charles, when Chuck kept it with strictly basketball.

And I'm not a huge fan of Charles sometimes, but Charles is 100% correct this particular time.

There's a reason Chuck never won a ring, his philosophy is completely wrong. Like Shaq said, "Chuck doesn't know what it means to go back-to-back." If repeating was so easy why doesn't every team who wins the championship just bring everyone back and win it again. Absolutely ridiculous.

He's not called Sir Charles for nothing. He's always spot on. He's always honest - brutally, at times. But do not ... DO NOT call him out. He will verbally cut you down in a way that you won't even realize it until 5 minutes later. To paraphrase Sir Charles in reference to Jerry Rice's taunt, "You go home to your rings. I go home, and I'm still Charles Barkley." As Don Meredith would sing, "Turn out the lights. The party's over."
