@@thebloodyggI've noticed this is a pretty common theme with women diving head first into relationships with abusive people (and I say people not men because it's surprisingly common and lesbian the relationships as well) and then will intentionally avoid every chance to get away or end said relationship humanly possible to the point that it's either them self-punishing for something they feel guilty about or they like being victims (Don't understand this mentality but yet another thing that's shockingly common)

As someone with a pathetic mother I know all to well how the moms boyfriend shit goes I never lived with her and her now dead (sorry I didn't do it) ex he was physically abusive she stayed for years when I was 11 I stopped going to her house on weekends when invited to go camping or something I said no this is only after he refused to allow her to take me for stitches when I was cut by a steak knife accident but still he refused to allow my mother to take me to the er and she didn't so no respect for pathetic people like OPs mom.

I like how op refers to the mom having pride like what pride? She was a broke single mom who had to rely on her former in-laws to financially support her while consistently lying to her own child and willingly married an abusive person for the sake of money and not only allowed the same abusive dude to abuse her child and her but just wanted her own child to suck it up so she could keep living financially comfy... I don't know about y'all, but not one thing that we know about her or one action she did throughout this entire story is prideful really completely the opposite

I think they take real stories and edit them with AI and you can tell by the way they are written. "As I navigate this new chapter in my life" is on basically 90% of stories and it's an instant "yep this is AI"

So when someone rings your doorbell 5 times in the middle of the night (or day for that matter) you just got up and opened the door without checking or asking who it is 1st? You don’t do that under normal circumstances! Maybe stop making it so easy for you to be a victim? Stepfather is trash & abusive but he can’t abuse you if you don’t stick around for it. Your mother is part of the problem too seeing as she’s a liar & chose him.
