Hi Ed, great video. I've just driven my Quadrifoglio to Verona through the Mont Blanc tunnel with a visit to the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo and seeing the Mille Miglia in Brescia and Verona. Came back via Brenner tunnel through Austria, Germany (150 mph + on the Autobahn), Luxembourg, Belgium and France. Averaged almost 31 mpg and my wife enjoyed every journey almost as much as I enjoyed the driving. The car is amazing and I'd love to do the Stelvio trip but think the 500 hire car is definitely the way to go. Keep up the great work 🍀💯🇮🇹😊

Yes I did miss the QV on this one and the 500 was a poor substitute but just to be there and enjoy the pass was something I’ve always wanted to do. I need to get a proper road trip in mine but I fear it will just be a few days snatched in the UK. 🍀
Brilliant Video, please do more of these :0)

Thanks, will do! Ed
Really enjoyed that, great theme. Sometimes the slower cars can be just as much fun as a quick'un. Laughed out loud when you said you'd ticked the CDW box, had visions of cornering on the door handles.

Thank you. Ireland would be awesome. Show everyone the great roads we have there. Ed
What you taught me Ed is get up early and do it before the crowds, dawn would be nice❤👍 I also need to travel there first from Aus..😮😊

Things are always best first thing. Just like all good photographers. 😁 Ed
Love your videos Ed, you’ve inspired me to do this drive later this year. Would be great to hear more about your day job too 👍 keep up the excellent vids.

It was great driving but a long day. I would suggest Verona to be closer but then you’d miss out on all that Bologna has to offer. The Fiat 500 was perfect for the Stelvio due to its small size and short wheelbase. I’ve been a commercial pilot since 1992. Currently on the A320 but will hopefully move onto the A350 this year. I don’t do much filming on my job as it’s probably best to concentrate on flying and my airline puts social media restrictions on us as well. Ed
Absolutely fantastic video! Can't wait for more

Just need the ideas now but there’s plenty of suggestions in the book. Ed
Yup, great vid. Have done the FIAT 500 hire thing and loved it, it was the Abarth though 😎, and only to LHR ha. Thanks for setting it up and doing all the time it takes to post this, really enjoyed it 👍.

Glad you enjoyed it! Ed
That was a great effort. You must have covered 800+km in 1 day.. in a Fiat 500. That's hard work and you must have been knackered after! Seems the Fiat was the ideal car - I would have been petrified in the Alfa. As you said I'm not sure why the video is struggling with views given how many subs you have and how many other videos you make climb into the thousands. Strange one. Maybe it'll be a slow burner and catch up one day!

Thanks Luke. I don’t really know myself. I’ve changed the thumbnail to see if it makes a difference. It took me 11hrs!! Knackered but so worth it. Ed
Hi Ed, in all honesty I would have gone with the Giulia QV, even if the costs would be higher than what you spent, but do you want to consider the pleasure of driving a QV? I have been to the Stelvio pass several times and it is a spectacle in the Alps. Starting from Great Britain you could cross into Germany where the motorway generally has no speed limits. Then through Austria and the Brenner pass you arrived in Italy and in Alto Adige up to the Stelvio pass. Greetings.

Yes ultimately it would have been a better car but I just happened to be in Bologna with work at the time. There’s also the time issue. Ed

Nicely filmed! Would love to do this but can imagine it’s less enjoyable as a passenger! Are there as many cyclists as it seems?

Yes loads. The perfect time would be to do it as sunrise whilst it’s (hopefully) much quieter. It was massive fun though. Ed
