Ed, your “worst case” scenario about having your wife stranded is a bit over done. Yes, the keyfob does run out of battery but you always have the NTF option whereby you hold the key to the doorhandle and it opens up. I agree that more than one mobile phone should be given the option to open the car. Right now, my wife is out in my FOO without I-phone credentials to open or close the car. She trust the keyfob and the NTF function - as my phone needs to be with me

Ocean One reservationists here. August 1st (for us) was the day it was clear that Henrick rushed this car and cheated with an inferior cpu. It further became clear that the materials in the car were vastly inferior to any car priced comparably. We were'nt either disapointed nor surprised when Fisker lowered the price benieth the ONE owners as August 1st was the day we canceled, walking away from 5K. The one word for this vehicle is underacheiver. Too bad really. We are absolutely enjoying our Mach-E Performance Edition Night Pony since August 5th. Good luck to everybody!

For the dog problem - try a transk9 with rubber mat option. Not sure if they make a fisker specific one. But their customer service was bang on when I ordered and is safe as anything. Plus you can lock the cage/s and leave the boot up. Then again I live in a low crime county and my Volvo does have a “pet mode” which allows for internal sensors off and windows/boot open.

I think the best message from this video is the intent, and the truthfulness of what was initially told to the early adapters before buying the car, and everything that was told to us has not been held up it would’ve been different if by chance, FISKER told us note, the car will have probably multiple hiccups for the next three months know this before purchasing none of that was told to us and maybe I was naïve. This was my first high-end car more than I could afford, but that’s my problem and I’m so glad that you mentioned at the end about the stupid freebies who cares about those stupid freebies when you can’t even get in your car let alone drive it and worry that is it going to open lock etc. etc. thank you for doing this video. This is so far the only EV that appeals to me, nice to look at, good specs, very good range but omissions like no car play, that stipid window thing not being able to drop the rear screen only ( you could do that on the old land rover sport years ago), laggy entertainment, although i would be happy with the cruise control as i detest these newer systems that are way too intrusive.....they really should have the fixes sorted before selling them. It again proves my point of never being the first to buy the latest model of any car, give them a chanc to iron out the issues. Will Fisker be around in a few years us anyones guess, i hope so but have my doubts.

No, not at all, but you must understand this is a new car company. They are learning as they go. That is how new companies are when they start, especially with a company that has ramped up production so quickly. When I started my first company, I mortgaged the house and put everything on the line. There were many bumps in the road, but we have seven companies growing and making money today. I still have faith that Fisker will learn from their mistakes. I am also a stockholder. The bigger the investment, the more one is down. So are all my EV-related investments. They are all down with all the rest of the small-cap stocks. But I am buying more whenever prudent. I have faith in this product and the future of this company. Appreciate your honest reviews, Brian. My One is due to be delivered this week, and I remain committed. Most of the tech (eg ADAS, Fisker FI PIlot; app control of vehicle un/lock and power) and UI features (eg Android/CarPlay) are expected to be brought out in upcoming OTA updates. Yes, I'm basing that on faith, but I don't mind receiving the car without promised features, as none of them will affect my commute to work or errands around town, and get them as they come. Unlike my Model X, I hope to be driving a better-handling car with a quieter interior on the highway without the now boring Tesla design. Sure, there's some gimmick factor to the Ocean, but they're gimmicks that I find practical, eg taco tray will be used for my iPad as well as lunch when the weather's nice; Cali mode (been wishing for that in the Tesla for the past few summers). I respect the wife issue, as that would definitely not be viable. Fortunately, my wife will rarely be driving the Ocean. Also, my dog won't care about the doggy windows as he'll be secured as usual in the 2nd row (but I'll let him recline the seat 😅). If you don't mind sharing, I'm curious what you thought of the car when you test-drove it.

The drive was fine but limited to central London due to their location. The low speed ride is no Range Rover but that has air suspension. It has a long wheelbase which helps smooth out the speed bumps and traffic calming. The constant beeps were annoying but you might be able to switch them off. I asked my wife if she liked her new car and she was unimpressed to be honest. It was difficult for her to step up into it and she said that the pedestrian noise made her skin crawl like an old sci-fi movie. I wasn’t going to gift her a car that she wasn’t over the moon about although I quite liked it.

Hello, and excellent post! I have a reservation for an Ocean One, and much of what you explain resonates with me. I was so excited about receiving this vehicle, and how Fisker has managed the deplorable communications and customer service has forced me to think twice. I agree with your final statements about TRUST. I'll add that trust also means to trust that someone will be there to help service and solve issues like the example you stated with your wife. Based on how Fisker has managed the communications throughout the process and their view of customer service, it tells me that Fisker will stay the same in how they view customers. The best product in the world that needs customer service/support, or it could be better. I don't see Fisker changing how it manages customers and putting us first. I won't be able to buy, and now I am trying to get my $5,250 back from them.

If you’ve dropped the Fisker, do check out the Nissan Ariya. We’ve gone for the 87kwh Evolve spec, not e-Force (4wd), and it is massively specced - heated cooled front seats, heated rear, opening pan roof, HUD, upgrade audio (Bose), 466ltr boot (404ltr on the 4wd), even has quick clear front screen like Ford have had for years!

The thing about anything new is you're always going to find issues. If the manufacturer is new to the scene as well as the product, it's double jeopardy. With cars they're bound to miss things out that manufacturers who have been around for over a century have realised that people want for years. I've been warning people of this with EVs for years, and especially the expected influx of Chinese cars. This has led to accusations of everything from me just being out of touch with the modern world (I love tech - my office looks like something from Star Trek!) - to being racist. No, it's just common sense. ICE cars are tried and tested, you know what you're getting and until now everybody has been happy with them. You've hit the nail on the head with trust. This is the one thing a lot of people don't seem to realise; most of these won't sell in the numbers expected and some of those companies won't survive. Look at the history of the car; manufacturers come and go. They'll be worthless, resale value won't hold up like it did with companies like Saab, they'll bomb completely. What annoys me the most is the hypocrisy from the EV brigade. They slate ICEs now because they're oil guzzling monstrosities, yet many of these new EVs are packed with plastic and PVC - which is of course derived from oil - but that's perfectly OK and suddenly that oil isn't such a bad thing anymore when it's being used for something that just gets dumped on landfill, rather than actually being something that's used for propulsion. And yes, we will end up paying for upgrades in the future. My old Jag has keyless entry. Lee's new Porsche EV has it as an option that can be deleted if not paid for, but how long will it be when cash strapped manufacturers who have lost their parts business start selling features like this as a monthly subscription upgrade? Cars are now going the same way as domestic appliances like washing machines and vacuum cleaners, something you have to replace every 2-3 years instead of something you replace every 20 or 30. Unfortunately many people aren't as smart as you and can't seem to see it coming.

@@Back_Road_Hero Yes, but a risky one if you're one that likes to keep their car for a few years. Can you honestly see half of these manufacturers being around in 10 years' time? If established auto makers are struggling to sell them and losing money now, the new companies don't stand a chance and they'll disappear in the blink of an eye if they don't get good regular sales. Even Tesla wouldn't exist now had it not been for the billions in subsidies, loans and tax breaks all funded by the US government, vis-a-vis taxpayer.

I’ve got a 2018 Audi S5 and I love it. I would like to go greener. The Fisker Ocean seems to have lost so many things that were promised. Even the lack of trade-in for the UK just made it more awkward to take delivery of the ocean, especially as I was feeling a bit rushed since my vehicle arrived in the UK. Have a car on order for 21 months but I get given a week to work through my finance options. We walked away from the $5k in August for so many of the same reasons that Back Road Hero gave plus some that wasn't mentioned. It's "easier" to walk away from $5k than pay off almost $70,000 for a car we were not going to be happy with. I think about the lack of the basic stuff that cars have like a glove compartment & proper storage, not cheap tiny plastic spaces under a seat! This car was not ready to be released at all! I am also not confident at all that if, or should I say when the car had issues, that we could get someone to take care of it in a timely manner. We also realize that we are not "first adopters" especially when it comes to buying a car online from a person who had many issues in the past.

I am an ex-pat living in the USA and I had to part with $5000 to confirm my Ocean One. Like you, so many things nagged at me that I made the decision to lose the $5000 rather than continue with the near certainty that I had made a mistake. Mostly what concerned me was the head in the sand approach of the CEO that everything would be OK in the end and the lack of meaningful communication. I'll be honest. The main reason we kept the Ocean reservation in the USA is the $7500 credit, since we signed a firm order prior to Aug 16, 2022. The car has been massively disappointing for several reasons. - stuck at Costco trying to load the trunk with car being unresponsive!!! Nothing worked to unlock the car!!! Neither key, nor door handle NFC, not app unlocking the door worked (it took 7 times in the app for doors to finally unlock). - stuck viewing videos in hollywood mode during lunch, only for car to NOT start after 30 mins!!! I had to exit the car, lock it, wait 1 minute. then unlock and enter for it to be driveable. - way too many cool promised features that are now promised as 'future OTA' including the solar roof actually producing energy & power bank. - fit and finish for a $72k car. It does feel cheap in many areas. - very limited trunk space. - slow L2 charging at 32A!!! Really???? With all the promises made, I was hoping for 80A, like F150 Lightning. Instead, a measly 32A! Tesla Y has smaller battery and charges faster. Translation: Fisker takes 2 overnight off-peak charges to fully charge!!! - insanely slow infotainment system with equally outdated navigation. Coming from a Tesla, this is a massive disappointment... really Henrik??? - no visual of energy usage. Again... really??? With Magna building the cars, I had high hopes for the car. Leave it to Mr Fisker to over-promise and under deliver!!! Let's hope for a better 2024. It will be a boom or bust year for Fisker. DELIVER on everything you promised and deliver on what people expect, or go bust!

Sounds just like a lot of other owners experiences. Disappointment arises when your reality doesn’t match your expectations. Henrik promised far too much eg 250kW charging, reduced it to 200kW and the reality is more like high 170s. Level 2 charging a massive disappointment as well. But all that aside, it’s just not getting the simple things right like unlocking and driving that show the main weaknesses. Hope it all gets sorted quickly for you all? I’m just relieved I don’t have the headache (especially in the uk) Ed

The car was dropped off my driveway, with a big screw in the middle of front tire. It took only 10 days and I’ve got a completely flat tire. I reached out from day 3 to Fisker ( which the only means for it is through service calls). Not a single bloody response! Also, turning on the car, on the display, I get bunch of error messages, some of which unclear what they even are. But the one Jim’s out is related to break system and that might not function properly!! Imagine get a new car and you would be risking your life driving it. On top of it all, no company in California is insuring the car. Fisker’ sown recommended company is quoting $16,000 per each six month of insurance. And you didn’t make a mistake. That has three zeros in front of 16!! Nobody is taking responsibility. I have a car and don’t have a car. My family life is impacted since we can’t use one of our cars. Effectively I got a lemon and nobody is out there to answer my calls. There is not even a number I can call to talk to. With everything I see online of problems people have, it’s time to start a class action lawsuit. How can we kick it off? Can be cross Atlantic case? Getting the first deliveries from Austria to the US proved to be a real nightmare for them. Also, I feel the vehicle is overpriced. You can buy a fully loaded Model Y for less.

Simple solution: Buy the Model Y and live happily ever after. Oh, and sell the Fisker stock ASAP. Don't ask me why, you explained it all very well.

This is exactly why I gave my charitable $5000 to Fisker. I just Don’t trust the car, company or service. The car is too expensive for what you get. No wow factor, as mentioned. This video is spot on.

Hope you sold your stock before this latest crash. At least you will not be one of the people with a very expensive lawn ornament after Fisker goes under. Fisker is a legacy automaker guy, he is not a tech person, but the two things Fisker Inc are not outsourcing are design and the UI. The Fisker Inc software engineers were hired in a hige rush after Fisker got his SPAC money, no software engineers worked there before that. With automakers already fighting each other for good software engineers when Fisker hired, guess how good his software engineers are? Are they better than the software engineers at VW Group whose UI project is a huge disaster? The Fisker Inc UI will always suck, just like the Fisker Automotive UI did, that was so laggy owners were breaking the touch screen. And Fisker is struggling to find buyers while hemorrhaging money. Like most legacy companies that introduce EVs, initial sales will be okay with pent up demand, and then they will drop off. Fisker will never scale production beyond 20,000 a year and never stop losing money, and the Pear is vaporware like the vast majority or other Fisker vehicles. All Fisker needs for the Pear is all of the capital, a factory willing and able to build it, a huge American battery cell factory someone built with no plans for whom to sell the battery cells to that is willing to sell to him, etc. You will see a Pear for sale when you see the Fisker e-Motion, Orbit, etc.

Um... this comes off as whiny millennial to be honest which I think you are a little old for (as well as that cap shirt). What were some of the issues with initial Tesla Model S? Brakes not working, bearings in the motors seizing at 10k miles, battery degradation, suspension issues, paint peeling. I don't think your expectations align with buying 1st generation electric vehicle with class leading handling, range and sustainability. If you are buying this vehicle for the interior door handles and trunk space you are misguided. If you are buying the exclusive, expensive first launch of this vehicle for interior fit and finish that was a mistake. You say yourself if you had bought the sport you would be happy with the finishes well then you should have bought the sport... or ultra. A limited production vehicle will always be overpriced.

All I’m asking for is a reliable car for my wife Pete. It’s not too much to ask. It’s just my own perspective and an update to the followers of my channel who were eagerly awaiting its arrival. We’re 8 videos in, but I’ve deleted the rest and left this one for now. The cost is inconsequential. Ed

Its a disaster this car. Its forever delayed. Poor quality plastic. Many of the promised technology does not work or is completely left out. Oh and when you find something wrong, don't expect Fisker to fix it. They won't.
