I agree with Marques. Pie is better. It's also much better than cake. There are more varieties of pie. And there's even a non food version of pie (π). Cake and quiche cannot compete with that. Also Portal has shown me that the cake is a lie.

I'm a Fisker Ocean One owner. The review was mostly spot on. Some of the annoyances were fixed in later software updates that the vehicle you reviewed didn't have (1.10 and 1.11). I honestly really like the car though. I've driven the newest X5, X7, Alfa Romeos, and enjoy driving the Fisker even more. I feel its just unfortunate that Fisker has constantly been in catch-up mode. My current hope for them is just survival, and if they don't survive, that another OEM will buy the company. Personally, I think their current situation is 50% bad management, 50% market circumstances (high interest rates, glut of EVs on the market).

I'm glad you're finally doing the hard hitting coverage of eggs and egg based dishes

A few thoughts as a Fisker Ocean owner: 1) I would wait for OS 4.0 for a follow-up, if they get it out. There's a lot more coming, and I'm assuming a lot more fixes. They said that could be as soon as summer, so I figure just wait 6M and do a follow-up with whatever's available. 2) The key fob is crap, but they say phone as a key is coming... I agree with your position that you judge a car by what's here today 3) On the carwow solar figures, I wonder if that car has only been tracking solar generation since it got the V2.0 update. If so, that would explain the low solar generation. Otherwise I generally agree with everything you said here and in the review. I personally don't mind not having a glove box or the small vanity mirrors, but that's just personal preference vs the objectively (and actually) bad elements of the car that you called out.

Should've ended with "Catch you on the next one.... Quiche!"

Next week's trivia is just Ellis with a buncha different egg dishes and the trio guessing which is a quiche, which is a frittata, and which is -a pair of sony headphones- -ouxfh caughette- an oeufs cocotte.

When you guys kept saying Started From the Bottom I was also one of the people just waiting and waiting😅😅😅

Hope you do the 2.0 update Fisker video! Btw, the Sport and Ultra trims that have started deliveries are significantly cheaper. Sincerely, a happy Ultra owner.

That reminds me of a guy who wrote a nutrition book and made a joke about there being "breatharians" who get all their nutrition from the air and light. It was just a short and obvious joke in a much bigger book, but some people took it dead serious and started identifying as "breatharians". And now there are around 1000 people worldwide who claim to eat zero food and live healthy lives (for clout, I guess?).

The ESR cases are incredibly well built for $19. And they don't yellow or crack.

The cold gas thrusters aren’t as much of a rocket as you guys seem to think. This is essentially a pressurized nitrogen tank and some nozzles. Piping to connect them and valves to control them. You can try a DIY version by sitting in an office chair and discharging a CO2 fire extinguisher. Definitely loud but not remotely close to a jet engine or combustion rocket.

If you pressurize a bunch of air into a tank and then release that air out really quickly, you end up with a rocket. (The Mythbusters did a nice demo where they made an air tank sized hole in a concrete wall by doing exactly that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWifxI9xc828ico.html) Obviously SpaceX has some specific knowledge about how to design optimal exhaust nozzles, build composite overwrapped pressure vessels, work out thrust vectoring, etc. But at the end of the day, the physics involved isn't a whole lot more complicated than shooting a hole in a SCUBA tank. Regarding the sound, I expect that the obligatory compressor pump which will likely need to run for a good 30+ minutes to pressurize the tanks will be louder than the sound when the thrusters are firing.

30:12 Hey Ellis, to be fair to the car it wouldn’t make any sense to worry about it accelerating at sub second 0-60 rates for longer than literally a second or two. My rough napkin maths says that 7 seconds at 5Gs would have you breaking the speed of sound. Plus it would need a massive tank of air to achieve this, at which point it stops being a car with rocket bits and becomes a rocket with car bits. Engineering Explained has a great video on this if you’re interested!

1:05:40 fisker shouldn’t have asked for cash lol, the coverage itself is free advertising in a way. Bad management re-emphasized. Also it could have been a stalling strategy until they get you the right car. Apparently the updates fix most of the bugs pointed out. Earnings went so bad yesterday, the coverage of FSR in this podcast definitely helps their case. Thanks @MKBKHD as always for covering new tech, good or bad.

Happy Friday good people last week almost 80 degrees today in ATL.39 and rain all day😅

Bisquick Quiche 6 Eggs 1.5 cups Bisquick 3 cups milk 1/2 tsp Salt 3Tbsp butter or Margarine, melted 1 Tbsp Dried Onion 1.5 cup Any Cheese, grated 1 dash Nutmeg 1lb Bacon or Sausage, or a combination 3/4 pkg Frozen Chopped Spinach, thawed and drained* *I will often lessen the amount of frozen spinach and add in a 1/2 cup of random cooked veggies like bell pepper or broccoli. Cook meat(s) and desired veggies. Preheat oven to 375° Mix all ingredients in a bowl and pour into a greased 13x9 inch pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. (Until brown on edges)** ** If desired, remove from oven a few minutes early, sprinkle with grated cheese (any kind) and bacon then return to oven. Cool 15 minutes before serving. Can be assembled the night before and baked in the morning.

If people are getting all bent out over the Fisker review, it’s because they are blessed to have a life with mostly trivial issues no real hardships to put life in perspective. We are truly fortunate.

I spent $18 on a Ghostek clear case more than 6 months ago. It is anti-yellowing. It is still perfect, not at all yellow.

48:30 arches are strong under compression, but the expansion would mean that the arch is under tension which is 100% leading to instability/damage. it's like if you tried to do a split and someone pulled the rug out away from you on one leg.

The whole thing with the fans to pull the car down is for traction. Acceleration is still a weight to power ratio. If you have the power to weight ratio, then you need things like the vacuum fans to increase theoretical mass (how much force the car puts onto the ground) only increase traction to allow you to use the power. There is a limit to what friction tires can do

An engineering terms, the point where a crack starts is, what’s called a stress riser. The bridge of the front glass is a sharp point that’s sort of place where a crack will start to propagate.

In materials science, there are phenomenons called fatigue and creep. Creep is caused due to repeated thermal stress on a part. It’s possible that because of the heat the glass reaches a point where it “relaxes” and cracks. With fatigue, it’s the phenomena, where a material tends to fail under repeated impact. When taking both these failures into account creep makes the most sense, since the glass heats from the bottom with use. Considering Apple hires a lot of mechanical/materials engineers, this should have been considered initially.

Re the thrusters I think the greatest impact of achieving one second 0-60 would be in the initial acceleration. So, if you had something like an initial thruster explosion, for example…. Maybe that could get you up to 20 MPH IN 0.2 seconds. A general problem of fast 0-60 time is keeping traction at low speed and high power… and the thrusters would solve this probkem
