The unseen ending is that Agnes Skinner was unable to put out the fire, despite following Alexa's instructions. She was hospitalised, only just surviving, and the house was almost destroyed by the time the fire department showed up to combat it. After being discharged, Agnes sued Google for $500,000 in damages and won, where they then pulled the Google Home service from that region, deeming it "almost lethally useless".
