Dan, the thing is, you’ll have people leave and people come. Like me! I only found you after 2020. And now I try to never miss an episode since I really enjoy your personality, the information, equipment, etc. Don’t worry about the critics.
Stop worrying about what others think. 40k subscribers, you are doing something right! I watch 4 main channels, yours, funny and good equipment and food reviews, haze outdoors, again funny and good tips, messner, good equipment reviews and wild beare, she knows what she is doing and really pushes herself and a dam sight more attractive than you three! 😁. Lots of people doing it now but you guys have a certain personality that people enjoy watching. Keep them going.

I agree, stop worrying about what people think, your subs keep going up so you must be doing something right!! Lol. Just keep on doing you and everything will be fine!! 😂😂😂
Still a Newby catching up on old videos. You're humour and honesty keeps me watching subscribing, even telling mate's to watch. The type of fella you feel like you know but have never met. Made me laugh with the discipline of the70/80s😂😂. I remember I'm 10 years older. Ps, I love you're number one Target, your family. ♥️🎯
Funny to have Vegan Dan and Non Vegan Dan lol

Top video as always Dan really enjoyed it, one little idea when you do another stealth camp is to take the camera far back and show how stealth it looks from a distance, that would be good to see👍
80's and 90's transition years. I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Even the neighbors could beat the devil out of us! I'm glad you're shedding off gear. Someone will cherish it, and grin ear to ear, every time they use it!!! Keep up the good work!
I've been binge watching all your old videos this past week, so I was really happy to see a fresh release when I opened up KZread today! Thank you for doing what you do! :D
Brilliant video your a right down to earth guy and so honest your a joy to watch
your channel ain't dying mate. keep doing what you're doing. we love your channel for you.
I think it is very easy to overdo camo. Being dressed as a soldier will only bring more attention regardless where you are. Plain dark coloured hiking/bushcraft trousers and a plain green woolen jumper will help you blend in and not look conspicuous. Camo is useful to stop you been seen from the sides. Not much point putting it on a tarp that is already camo style. A good idea with camo is to keep it a little bit away from the tent/tarp. If it is all on top of each other it can be more conspicuous. so camo doesn't always blend in with it surroundings even if you are in a wood. In the video there was some green leaf trees that actually clashed with the camo. A black bag rather than a camo back will draw less attention. If you want to avoid light slipping out at night may be worth looking at a cover sheet for tent/tarp. It should prevent some light slippage. A headlamp with a red light will be less conspicuous. A wind cover for the cooking set will prevent the fire been seen. Good video. Keep it up.
I have watched so many camping type channels that I can't keep count of them but I have settled on 4 that I always watch. Yours is one of them. I can't presume to understand how KZread works with their algorithms but I am glad that people are able to post videos like yours or we would have never met you. I think you said you've been doing this 7 years, maybe I'm wrong but that's a very long time to come up with new ideas every week or so. KZread did give you this opportunity but that's it. You have your number one love, your family and your number 2 love, camping. KZread didn't give you that, you brought it with you. So getting a plaque or trophy from your wife is so much better then anything KZread can offer. And for me and my family, it's your love of camping that keeps us coming back. It doesn't have to be anything new and exciting or whatever, it's you and your gear (and your pals) that we come here for. Keep on enjoying your love of camping hun, that's all that matters.
Shape, shine, shadow, silhouette, smell and sound, you've got it all Dan. Another enjoyable relaxing video-well done.
You do a great job Dan, you are a natural, you arent boring, you inject a bit of humour and above all else you are honest which of course is important. In a troubled world you bring light so be proud, shun the doubters and keeo doing what you do because you do it well 👍
Great video Dan, like the way you eat with your mouth closed, you were taught good manners, regardless of the beatings. Keep on doing what you are doing. I've been in the mountains for 50 years +, guiding and teaching and still out there. It only stops when you want it to. Cheers from NZ 😊
Yeah ! Great video ! All the best ! 👍
Love the steath camp Dan.. and yep I am a side sleeper too lol 👍😎🏕️ awesome video as always buddy 😁🤩
Aww your Mrs sounds lovely and very thoughtful 💝
Your such a genuine bloke with your stories poor budgie I remember when my parents went away on holiday and my mums canary died and my older brothers glued it to the perch so they didn’t have to tell my mum 😂😂😂 Excellent video and the worst it of cameo is straight lines such a tell tell sign
Hi great video. Especially like the bit where you start to talk about KZread and not chasing Dream full time KZreadr.. I like to see more segments like this in your videos if possible . Really enjoyed when you started talking about Camping in general, You tube , opens up a whole new dimension to your videos . Keep on making great videos like this can’t wait for your next instalment
Loved it all Dan simple as that. All the very best pal 👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴
That is why the good Lord created hot sauce....to smother the taste of the MRE. Forty-one straight days of MREs, a medium bottle of Tobasco saved our poor souls and taste buds 🤣
Good honest video. Did my first stealth camp in my soulo200 need a camo tarp to sit under never thought at seventy I’d be doing this.
Great video Dan! Love the stealth camping one's, I like the look of the geertop bivy, ive got the snugpak stratosphere but ive not had chance to use it yet. All the best pal great channel 👍
Great video, just keep doing what you love me and my son will be watching
Love the videos.. so natural, funny and informative … 😀
Yes enjoyed the video as usual keep them coming. All the best Cheers BK
Stop finding fault with yourself, you are who you are that's why you have so many subscribers, it's because we see the real you not some showman your a real genuine person who people loves to see. I have never seen you apart from your videos yet I feel I've known you for a long time and therefore class you as a friend, so stay as you are, you're personality is what shines anyhow stay safe and many thanks to you're family for sharing you with us. 👍
Its not the end that is important but the journey and what you learn along the way. Enjoy it and thrive from it. Its nice to have goals but be fluid with them. Good combo by the way set up looked good. Love the chats would love to hear some story time ones of great camps and crappy ones or even funny/spooky encounters along the way.
I proper needed to hear that bit about targets and going with the flow mate. Life is to be enjoyed and experienced. Thanks for your vids, humble and real!!!

Love this set up dan brilliant
yea Dan I agree with you 100%, stealth camping is fun. covert operations keeping undetected is a challenge and never gets boring . Dwayne
Another great video Dan 😊
Still watched but not commented on your videos in a while Dan . Really enjoyed this video especially when you’re sat against the tree with hot drink and talking about everyday stuff. Always look forward to your videos pal
Great video and loved all the talking, keep going and keep safe 👍
It’s really interesting that your testing your equipment for stealth camping which is a good idea Dan really good video and educational too
loving the videos mate keep up the great work
Cracking video again Dan thanks for sharing keep them coming 👍 👌 👏
Cmon guys........get this man to 100k and beyond
Don’t let your videos end we all love them. This video is good so much better than those that unpack cans of beers and always drinking and bad language. Good luck
Hi dan I been following you for a long time I watch your channel because you know what you are on about you are very entertaining don’t worry about something you can’t control I remember you camping in a red tent you come along way dan great video
Brilliant budgie story! I knew one that one family just forgot to feed it.. and the box of trill was a foot away from it's cage!
Very wise words and thoughts. 👍
Sorry I got distracted by that bit above your eye while you were talking, especially with all the bird muck on the tree. Awesome setup and thanks for the news about Mick. Will follow your channel always, can’t get into others that easily! Stay safe Dan atb 👍🦊
There are a lot to choose from but I choose to watch you so you have something the others don't..xx
Camping and funny stories go hand in hand, keep them coming. Try a Fire Maple pot with the trangia, it's got fins on the bottom which speeds up the boiling. Another good video 👍
best camping man i watch mate💯
Hi Dan,i live in Scotland and regularly stealth camp, just because i dont want people to find/see me,pretty much using army surplus gear like a basha and hooped bivi set up,i like the buzz of being hidden and no bugger knows you are there,i find it quite funny, all the best man.
Great video! I love to stealthcamp and you showed lots of good gear and tricks. Love the camo stuff too, but you don't need it always to stealthcamp safe. In my last video I stealthcamped in colorful cowboyclothes. Overkill can be stealthy too. Nobody would call cops and try to explain there is a cowboy hiding in the woods😂🤠
Dan really like your channel been a subscriber for a while keep the good work up mate.
I love the camera nets, especially being so close to London Dan. Good to hide your setup a bit more here and also gives that bit of privacy during daylight hours
Hi Dan I was bought up strict in 70s I use to get hit for leaving my bedroom a mess really good video
The meals have change loads since I was in , at least you can eat them now , great video
I do agree with you that everything, eventually, comes to an end. However, with yt and being a subscriber, I/we are able to pick and choose what we enjoy watching. We are all individuals and different in many ways and similar in many ways. I, personally, began watching yt almost exclusively over television when the US shut down for the big C. I began working at home, on the computer, every day. I setup my desk with 2 monitors; one for work, one for watching yt and other streaming services. I found your channel during the shutdown. I enjoy your channel very much. I enjoy it for a few different reasons. Unless your content offends me, which I don't believe it ever will, I will stay a subscriber. I now have my husband watching your channel and our daughter and grandson watching too. I enjoyed this video; stealth camping, chatting with us, testing the rations, sharing your opinion of the sleeping bag, the large tarp, etc. I hope your channel continues to grow. Its enjoyable, educational and relaxing.
Cracking tarp that mate and I bet Mick is pleased that your getting good use out of it, hope he is ok buddy!
Just keep doing what you’re doing buddy.
I love your videos. Keep it up 👍
Hi Dan , Glad to hear that Mick is doing OK , bless Him , I miss his posts !.
Dont ever think we get bored ......we want more and more, and more
When it comes to your Channel , you are a down to earth , Man of the People Dan , Honesty goes a long way mate , plus you are a Yorkshire lad too ! , Be well my Friend .

nice video. you have come such a long way since your first videos!
Great video mate, as a serving soldier my stealth set up is a British army basha using bungees with a British army bivi bag and my RAB 3 season down bag with a foam roll mat with a inflatable mat on top of it. I pitch either A frame or a simple lean too depending on the ground, I always set up at last light if I can depending on what I’m doing and nothing above waist height regarding the basha height. Army ration packs have improved but those seed bars are tooth breakers 😂 I use tabasco source to add flavour to the meals . Jet boil flash is my go to stove 👍🏻 Cam nets are rats, I never use them when I’m camping. Keep up the great videos mate, don’t worry about others mate, you will never please everyone 👍🏻💪🏼 atb Pete
That naturehike bag looks awesome mate, thats an awesome fathers day present 👍
great vid Dan, like that set-up. I'd still stealth camp just to get away from all the idiots, I like having my own private little area that no-one can see :)
If you love what you do then don't stop due to subscriber numbers....you do a great job and i enjoy your videos...
I love that sleeping bag dan i only use it in the summer as it can get a lil cold in the brecon beacons. Iv had it yrs mate very reliable 👌
Great video Dan, love the set up, must try a ration pack they look great, and must be ok given the amount of videos where you use them. On the subject of the bivy being waterproof or not, surely you should have put the bivy out from under the tarp, give it a good test, looks a great bivy but the weight of it is similar to a 1 person tent. Love all your vids, keep doing it your way, why worry about opinions. keep em coming
Apart from admiring a man who can wax philosophical while having a grain of rice balanced on his right eyebrow.... about camouflage. As a former NCO instructor on the topic first of all accept you can't hide from people walking by closely; you will be seen eventually. So long as they aren't actually looking for you, often just staying still does the job. And don't look at them; people sense when they are being watched. As for camo nets; I hate them. Faff machines. They scream premeditation; you are obviously aware you are not supposed to be doing this so makes it harder to talk your way out if sprung. Better to set up the tarp then drop it until after dark. Set it up in daylight with a quick release knot, then drop it... unless you need it for shelter in which case fewer people are moving around anyway. I wouldn't bother carrying a net, just keep a low profile with the tarp. No light, no sound, no movement... but then ask why are you doing this? I stealth camp so I am not bothered by other people, time on my own but not time spent bored or scared of discovery. Worse time is insertion and extraction to your harbour area. Enter the cover away from your chosen spot and circle around, coming back on your path but off to one side so you can spot any tails. Have fun.
Awesome setup 👍👍👍👍👍
I like the idea of using a tarp with the geertop for a little extra space and also you can keep the bivvy open and use just the bugnet so will be no condensation
I'm new to your channel. Really enjoy it BTW. It's interesting to see the equipment used not just demonstrated. I'd like to see more on clothing etc Inc camo clothing. There's so much stuff and its difficult to work out what's good and what's not.
I love to stealth camp, it’s like playing hide and seek but your competition don’t know they’re playing ☺️
Truly well said!
Looking forward to this, love the camo 👊🏽
Talking about beating when we was kids has bought back memories lol
yeah im in scotland and still like stealth camping it takes me back to ma army days
On a personal not I would probably have pick a spot tucked under a Bush and had tarp ultra low down guess that's the ex Royal engineer me thinking but great video once more Dan aka @englishwoodsman keep up good work stay safe fella
Bother you philosophy is how i really feal. I'm still under 1k subs and totally feel the way you do about just being yourself. Don't change. This is a great community and the small talk is worth it. Nature is therapy.
Enjoyed the budgie story brother 😂😂😂 yep I used to get regular beatings too, always seemed to be in trouble 🤔😂👍🏽😎 best wishes mate
Do you know Dan, you brought back some memories for me here. I was brought up in the 50's/60's and correctly teachers did give us beatings. I went to an all girl's school when we had full uniforms, including, yes, straw boaters and winter hats, up to 14 yes old. We had the strap and cane and needless to say, I was on the headmistress' radar at least once a week for the strap. Again, yes, when I got home with strap marks across my palms, you know the answer 🤣😭. Too funny now.
Fab sleeping bags mate
You are right to use the netting over the entrance. That's the only problem with the DD tarps, they are so light on the underside. Little tent and a big tarp for working space is a good combo. 👍👍
Hi m8, great video as always... Still laughing to myself about the budgie seed bar as I used to have birds when I was younger and brings back some memories 🤣. Also feel your pain about getting leathered as I was the eldest so always my fault... The joys of being born in the 80s 😂. Keep up the good work bud, atb Andy
I think in the summer months it's a better option to camp using a tarp as it can be a lot cooler and give you the option of a lot more room. I'm yet to try it as I don't have the gear yet, but hopefully I will before the summer turns to winter 🥶 Great video btw 👌 👍
Another brilliant enjoyable video Dan....Have you a link for your meths stove as I cant find it or its holder any where....Take care and stay safe.............................
Hi Brother are you all right? you sounded a bit emotional when talking about goals, I think you are spot on saying the most important thing is making your family happy and looking after them. But looking after your self is important too. My son and I have bought a geotex hot tent that was on your channel recently and have found a
It's not just about new faces it's the person themselves. I find you entertaining and interesting to watch. I've tried other channels and found there personality boring
I think the camo net is definitely good to use for stealth. Because it has depth and texture it’s better than just a camo pattern tarp or tent Also want to comment about new KZreadrs coming along and taking interest away from your channel. I don’t think that will happen. I and lots of others enjoy your videos not just for the camping itself, but because of your honest, down to earth attitude, great perspective, and easy going nature. Others can’t replicate your personality, which is one of the things that makes you popular. There’s only one English Woodsman
The right camo net with the right gear works wonders - as demonstrated by one of the latest videos by T A Outdoors (entitled 20 stealth camping tips and skills) where he covers a hooped bivi. The difference it makes is clear to see. I'm all for stealth camping methods as it saves a lot of hassle from getting caught.
i love the natter keep up the stories
You and I both know you will always have followers Dan. Sure some will come and go but there will always be that nucleus that core of people who like to watch you in action .. listen to your warped sense of humour at times but see what you can do that others can't for various reasons. Most of us had strict parents mate ..in the older generation but you know we are none the worse for the clip here n there in fact we're better off than the younger generation as we have respect and values. Bushyboy Oz.
44k subs mate, onwards and upwards 😁😉

Almost 45k mate .
Camoflauge netting is a must have stealth camping I have both a ex British army camoflauge net and a real tree camoflauge net as well both around 8ft wide
Loved the Cammo gear Dan, and I've already probably said this but thanks to you I bought the same sleep mat, brilliant as I'm a side sleeper. Stay safe mate, and if your giving your stuff away, I'll gladly resend it to you if you change your mind months down the line 😉
Crackin vid as always dan do it because you like it , its not all about the subs ive just stated out videoing on a different subject but im doing it because i enjoy getting out and about 👍
Good video. As others have said it would be good to see the camp from further away. Also as with all light weight tarps,no matter what camo pattern or plain colour, they are plastic and therefore shiny. The netting really helps with that. Would like to know how waterproof the geertop bivi is as I'm thinking of getting one. Do next time you're out in the rain can you use it without the tarp ta, all the best mate. Dave
Hi pal! I like you little rant about subs, numbers and rubbish like that and glad you said you dont care too much about all that. Family and being outdoors comes first and its true. I will be a father soon so I hope I can relate to that. I do want to start making videos as well and go out whenever possible like you. Got my Trekker 1.0 seem great, but its a tent so its 'easy'. Always wondered about bivis and how they would work if taking for a few days walking trip. Not sure got to hide or where to store my backpack, boots etc seems like tart to go with it is good idea but then carrying both and you need trees to send up seems a bit difficult. Maybe one day I will try. Got speedster alcohol stove to try also, dont want to use noisy gas stoves all the time. Anyway I live in Scotland, I know it easier, sucks you need to hide, steal camp in England. Government rules sucks bit time and those idiots dont let us do too much as always but nevermind. Cheers from Edinburgh. Regards
another good video dan hope your good buddy 😂
27:36 - HOW on earth did you get rice on your eyebrow Dan!!? 😁 Great content as always - keep it up. 👍🏼
Regards to Mick glad to hear he is battling on thanks Dan Hi to Scott to 👍
