Solo tent camping in RAIN. ( TENT AND TARP CAMPING )
tent camping in the rain, I've gone solo camping just to have a relaxing overnight camp and to enjoy the rain sound hitting my tent and tarp shelter.
I also use my very small twig stove as an outdoor campfire and to cook on.
Rain camping can be very challenging in heavy rain so taking some home comfort itams is a nice idea.

Its strange how rain like that can be both RELENTLESS and RELAXING at the same time. Love listening to it.
I came to appreciate your videos for your openness and the natural way you speak your mind as if you were thinking out loud...these days everyone is trying to sell something and pitching sales while you just enjoy the moment. You deserve much more views and subs... all the best from Portugal mate!

I love your vids. I'm hooked on 2 camping channels AB Camping, and yourself. I love how you make camping accessible (financially speaking,) for folk like me if I'm being honest. Thanks for your vids!
I would probably left them alone until about 2 pm and then tentatively approach the tent to confirm things were okay.
Fair enough going over but I can’t believe you actually went through their things!!😮

Great video Dan. I love the set up with the tarp. 👍 As a side note, maybe consider a video of how you sort your wet / muddy kit after a wet camp as you just don't see that on KZread.
I have to say theres somethin so groundin for me with your vids, you really help with my anxiety so thanks so much for that❤

Camping is wonderful for mental health. One night just calming everything down a good book or a radio or what I found great fun a book to write about my adventure then you can relive it as often as you like. Good luck with the anxiety, one day at Time and you will win, I did you can too

In the USA we don’t mess with other peoples stuff…they could have been doing nature stuff like day hikes, fishing, boating or canoeing,or even ran to town for a meal or supplies. Have fun stay safe .

Was there myself last night Dan, my Autistic son's first camp as an adult. Camped in Mr nobody's tents spot. Was a wet one last night, just us and 3 other lads who turned up late, they were also gone before I got up at 4am, rain must have scared them off.
Relaxation , Is one of the reasons I love Camping , Less traffic or People about , and the Sounds of Nature , you cant beat it .👍
I'd walk over and make sure everything was ok,you did the right thing Dan.👍💯💥

I just said that. No need for a wee rummage thru the tent. I would have checked, but not have a look at what cooker they had or that.
I always take a tarp when tent camping, it just gives you more dry space outside and helps keep the tent dry
Anyone who truly wants to appreciate home comforts NEEDS to go camping in the rain and the wind. In winter.
Gotta love rain and camping

I love going camping when the weather is like this .
Brilliant love rain overnight camping not much rain though
Yes, it rained! We were out doing a survey in it yesterday and excavating in it today!
Last week I was hammock camping rather deep (I live in the sticks and hiked 3 hrs to that spot) and catched a heavy heavy thunderstorm; now I was camping roughly 30 feet from a river so meh, i striped nikkid and took a bath under the storm...it took a minute the rain wasnt cold...squeeky clean afterward.
I camped on the very spot the blue tent wss on the end of may ! Looks a lot tidier now than when i was there.
Love the sound of rain on a tent or tarp
Dan you could put your lixada stove over that chimney to use as a pot stand
This dude is a superhero.
Great vid. Some folks can't camp without the latest and greatest. You get by with a bit of string and an Ali express stove. Cracking stuff. Dodgy on unzipping that tent though. Could have been people inside having nookie lol. I also love how you expanded the shelter with overhead tarp. Very clever. Chair too. I wouldn't have bothered going home haha. Come armageddon and everyone is running around helpless in their nighties you can bugger off to the woods and get by fine. I thought my camp set up was solid but that overhead tarp and chair idea is getting used as well now. It'll stop the birds shitting on me. It landed in my coffee last time.
Top tip for lighting a fire using a ferrous rod, use the lint collected in your tumble/condensor dryer, as a fire starting fuel. Store in a plastic bag.
Hey Dan ,great video nice woodland.. I got a bargain at charity shop last week ,got a unigear tarp new for 10 pounds never used one before but couldn't walk past a bargain..
I lived for almost three years on a fifty year old diver's boat on a beach in the south of Ireland , i watch you an I get the enjoyment you get from peace an solitude and just being in nature, i felt the very same and everyday the tide came in an floated me, I was safe during two hurricanes . Iam astounded at some of the equipment you use , one of my biggest problems was keeping warm and sleeping comfortably your stuff is far superior to anything I ever found, I did have a pot belly stove on board for heating which i fed with branches and wood i found on the beach. Were i can claim to have bettered you i was able to feed myself from the Atlantic ocean simply by fishing an baiting lobster pots, sadly a triple stroke and cardiac arrest brought my adventures to a close , now i watch you and enjoy your trails , best of luck to you.
No shame in being dyslexic. I appreciate your honesty. I’m dyslexic also.
England in the summertime. There's nowhere better. 😁
you cant beat the sound of the rain on your tent so therapeutic , my son and I are definitely going to give these woods a try , it was nice to see you're concern over the unoccupied tent , a lot of people these days just ignore, great video as always Dan
The smell of bacon cooking in a woodland, what more could you ask for, looked delicious.
A decent tarp over a tent in the rain. Love it, love been in the dark just me and my pooch used to have a 2 man tent now need a 4 and hes only 13 mths old. But keeps the ghouls away and makes my nights sleep so much better.got tomlove the out doors. ❤😊
Could have been someone who got up early and went for a walk. I do that all the time. Would be angry if i came back and someone was looking in my tent.
I love camping in the rain, as long as I manage to stay dry
Love watching your video's, "How about a project" Ammo box stove. As a sheet metal worker, I think you could make a blinding stove, and I'd love to see you do a cook up on it.

That little fire is so cute!!
Thank you Dan. You were spot on in how you handled the deserted tent situation. Enjoyed the whole content 👍
The SIZZLE and RAIN sounds ❤❤…. !! Wow!
Was just sitting here watching your video wondering when it will start raining in your video and the second it cut to the rain it started to thunder outside my house 🤣 feel like I live in a simulation sometimes
Great video dan, looked nice and cosy. I love rain camping
The things that make us laugh ! , I personaly would go over and ask , if I did not get a Response , I would look .
A couple of metal tents pegs on top of the burner/stove for air flow under your pan would work if you are desperate. Saves 'hovering'! Great video, thanks Dan.
great video again pal, yeah its best to check on things like that, just in case someone has had a bad turn. Id have let the land owner know too about the tent, just in case someone has gone for a walk and ended up having some trouble.
Hello 👋🏻 Super camp great setup too….

Thank you for watching
Tent and tarp is always a great idea. I never understood why folks don't carry a tarp along. It gives you some freedom to sit about during rain or snow or broiling sun. I've stopped watching many a channel because it ended up being a 20 minute video of a guy laying in a tent. Defeats the purpose of enjoying the outdoors if you're stuck inside for the majority of the adventure.
They might be saving the space so they can keep it,,Dan you reached your arm into the sleeping part I was holding my breath waiting for some one to grab you ,, thank goodness there was nobody home yes I would have went and checked as well it would have worried me so I could not enjoy my self thinking some one hurt ,, great video, love the way you talk to us just like we are there ,,
Ive done alot of heavy rain camping in my life. I live in N.H. USA, up in the White Mountains and towards canada it can be a beautiful sunny day and calm night, but it turns fierce out of nowhere. Even if rain isnt "forecast" i ALWAYS run a large tarp over our tent and cooking area. It has its own weather system where im from that can turn on a dime. Personally, i love it. As long as your prepared, its a good time. Love the videos sir. You inspire me to get back out there.
Great that Dan 👍🏻👍🏻
Those blocks are brilliant. I use them too.
Some times people set up for later; go about whatever for the day and just come back to 'base' when they are ready to.
I did not know this was a camp site and i live just round the corner. Ill Definitely be able to get my son to walk that far and try camping.
Great vid thank you 👍

Hi great video . Brilliant combination at tent and tarp .
I like that one wind tarp , it has attachment points so you can fashion door flaps to stop wind blown rain , I’m planing on ordering the hammock system next week, complete with wind sock
Lovely chilled camp Dan. Sometimes the rain makes things better!! 😊
17:26 - Don't go and look inside people's unattended tents. They're probably just on a walk, either way - not your property.
Been watching all your videos recently Dan, and I think you're doing great.

What you just described are called castellations funnily enough. They were designed to enable archers to fire at besiegers of castles without being shot at.
Tent dilemma: I'd go and check. If it's abandoned, I'd tell the woodland owner.
You are a good man for sure, keep up the great work
Thats my kinda stove really nice😊
Thats a nice setup😊
loved that video m8 with all the rain on tarp
Hello Dan , I love my Tarp , Its Heavy , but I think its the Best you can get , Never let me Down . and I love the fact that it is such a Soothing sound compared to the Tent. 🙂👍
New subscriber here.. watching from Boston, Massachusetts usa. I would of done the same thing… check on that tent to see if anyone was hurt or something. Great tent/tarp set up as well.

Those bacon sandwiches looked great. I am mighty partial to pig parts myself. 😅 Amazing at how much stuff you have with you and yet it is all packed down so small. When I camp off my motorcycle I'm loaded like an articulated lorry going down the motorway. 😂
Hi Dan!, I enjoy watching all of your videos here in Michigan, U.S.A. I have tarp, tent camped in all sorts of weather here, sometimes its easy to dry a small tent in the kitchen, turn on a fan, and also use paper towells, works for me..drape a tarp over the kitchen table, and turn on the fan.
Brilliant video go and over and make sure every things ok
You said in your video that you expected more people to be at the campsite you was at, maybe not many people know about it. I certainly would give that campsite a go if i knew about it 😃
Just a thought for future. If you get four pegs. Put them in the chimney ( NSEW)diagonally then sit the pan in the middle. It will wedge the pegs and sit higher giving air flow.
Hi Dan!, I enjoy watching all of your videos here in Michigan, U.S.A. I have tarp, tent camped in all kinds of weather, One way to dry a tent is by using a fan, and paper towels.
Nice
Such a great vid, im always happy to see a new vid from you. I camp ever weekend fri also sat but you help me make it through the week waiting to go.
Dan, just an idea.... That cheap stove... Take the burner out, put it on top of the chimney of the wood stove, and there should be enough air flow to allow you to cook on it....
Hi Dan, great video. For the pot supports, look at the Ghillie Kettle as that's the same type of flame out the top and those supports look good, like a flat metal "Y" shape, 2 of them maybe to hold the pans.
I like the use of the original eating utensils, the hands , makes it look so good may be time to go to store and do the same
Always look forward to your videos Dan highlight of my week. Really want to try the woods there but no transport at the moment.
