Stealth Camping In Unfamiliar City
Ойын-сауық
New side-channel! @SteveWallisStep2
Website: www.campingwithsteve.com
I had the urge to do a quick stealther on our camping trip/vacation. This one was different as I haven't stealth camped in such a large unfamiliar place yet. I got to try out the zipper model of the Hennessy Hammock that beautiful wife got me for our anniversary!

I had JUST gotten in to his channel, I wanna say a few months after she had passed. The videos are recommended to me by KZread totally out of order, and seeing how he talks about her all the time, then see how he mentions her sometimes in past tense now is really heart breaking :( I'm really glad to see you hanging in there Steve. I want to let you know, watching your videos has also in turn helped me cope with loss, and I really do mean that. Thank you for posting your adventures online, these videos honestly really help.

That's my usual practice - take a trash bag with me and pack out anything I find. It really isn't a big deal, isn't hard. Many trails have a trash can at the trail head, it's not like you're taking someone else's trash home. Leave it better than you found it.

That pack of AA batteries at the gas station probably cost about as much as the Mariot would have!
When youtube started recommending "bushcraft" outdoorsy channels, they gave me all the traditional silent sullen gloom and doom "end of the world" type channels which got very depressing after a while. I prefer your type of mindset Steve, you have a grasp of the wider world but you stay cheerful, appreciative and hopeful, we all need hope. There is a lot to be hopeful about. :)

It literally warmed my heart to hear the shout out to Stobe! I am one of the many who sadly discovered Stobe after his passing. I'd already been binge watching his videos for a few weeks before I discovered what had happened. He was one of those genuinely nice guys, who made modest but such highly interesting videos, with a personality that I found so relatable that he was like a friend! I love that Steve here keeps Stobe immortalised as a KZread legend! Thanks Steve - from another Steve in Ireland.

Your in kamloops!! I grew up there. The views are so gorgeous aren't they😍Usually so smokey you can barely breathe and cant even see the mountains this time of year so you lucked out. It's hot and dry there. I live on the coast now and when I visit in the summer I complain alot lol like i can not believe we grew up in this heat with NO AC. The sun would go down and it would still be 30 degrees and the pavement would be hot still. But it is a beautiful little city. thought it looked somewhat familiar. i've camped in both railyards there in the '9os. favourite moment was setting up alongside the CP tracks just outside the yard for a snooze & to see a friend off on the freights when we woke. found a big, stuffed armchair in the trash & some milk crates & hauled it into the yard & loaded our friend into a boxcar with it all, a jumbo coffee & a box o' Timbits for the beginning of his return east. we walked back over to the CN yard & kept on to Vancouver but our friend ended up just getting shunted around the yard lots & had to abandon & get a different car out. good times anyway!

For the last decade I've been a single father of two boys who are now more or less grown up. I still live with the younger one. Steve has inspired me to try many different recipes. So now when I'm asked what's for dinner, I say "Camping with Steve" - meaning something I picked up or adapted from some of Steve's videos. I've discussed with my sons that Steve's videos are a part of manhood which, I believe, is not encouraged. In Australia, we're in lock-down. But as soon as this is lifted, I'm heading bush for my mental health. Keep up the good work.
Fall camping is best camping!!!

Love the Stobe the Hobo “darkest hours of the night” reference.
I completely understand how you feel about having to carry a backpack around. I live and work in the downtown area of San Antonio. I don't have a vehicle and I carry my laptop back and forth to work. I will go into various stores and the employee will tell me that I have to leave my backpack at the front door. The first thing I usually ask is --- if they are going to accept financial responsibility for the contents. I have learned that is a good deterrent in regard to having to leave my backpack at the front door/counter. If they say no, I generally continue on with my shopping.

19:04 paraphrase: "I'm going to take things down fairly quickly here, so that it looks like im just out with my camera, taking pictures of like trees and things.. there's lots of people that do that so I could be one of them." Love it.
A man who truely loves his wife and isn't afraid to say it is the biggest man on Earth and can stand as tall as the highest mountain....even when he's hunkering down.

Well said mate
Sometimes venturing in to the unfamiliar brings great adventures. I'll be hunkering down in a small Cattle Cabin on a farm somewhere near North Texas and Oklahoma * Cheers mate! Jeep

Not gonna lie, I go back and rewatch old episodes to see what Steve had for dinner till something I see hits just right and then I make it.... the stroganoff at the tree house was the best so far....
Steve’s next t-shirt slogan: “Everything’s coming up Steve. “
You don’t look shady at all, brother. Clean cut and fresh. 👍🏻
Steve with the fresh cut. Looks good, buddy.

The way he talks about his wife... so sweet. 🥲
I love how you always refer to your woman as “your beautiful wife” it makes me smile everytime
“Darkest hours of the night” Stobe the hobo!!
There’s actually a good size housing area above the hillside you’re camping on. Numerous deer and other critters including bears at time cruise through that area you’re camping in too. Nice spot though. If you went across that overpass you would’ve found a Canadian tire and a beer store.
Just watching an old stealther, is a good way to bring your having to live in your car, an educational way to survive.
Stobe the Hobo!!! "For no apparent reason" "Game Over!" "In the darkest hours of the night"

For no apparent reason this train isn't stopping in xalalala. the intermodal traffic around her has been unreliable, at best. I guess I'm just stuck here until I can jump off. Stobe Kenobi Out Not a quote, but missing that guy

I also noticed that I've been watching Steve's videos all the way through, just as I did with Stobe's. And like Stobe's, I've now seen every one of them uploaded to KZread. There's a similarity of philosophy, I suppose. Steve's 'stealth camping' doesn't have the immediate (or eventual, hopefully!), risk of death, as did Stobe's. The worst that might ever happen is Steve gets caught one day. Big whoop. But I enjoy Steve's commentary, just as much. He does what he wants to do (as long as Beautiful Wife authorizes it, I imagine), other than that it's basically a 'no rules' kind of life. I just hope Steve doesn't burn himself out trying to impress his fans. I often wonder if that drove Stobe to continue riding the rails until one day, he got careless. Keep it fun, Steve!

They're both legends as far as I'm concerned. Just think if they had made a video together! I actually found Steve from Stobe's videos. I was recommended Steve's video where he stealth camped alongside the railroad tracks while I was watching Stobe. Small world seeing he knows Stobie!

@@dustyc324 I heard to camp out near railroad tracks, because snakes don't like the ground shaking due to trains going through.
Stealth camping infront of Marriot 😂😂
The scenery is so beautiful there. Watch it again and again
RIP STOBE THE HOBO he used to say the darkest hours of the knight. He was legend just like yourself steve. You have come along way from your early days. Your attitude has significantly changed since the boondocking days. Much respect
I love how much you care about not leaving a trace.
10:06 You goddamned legend! RIP Stobie Wan Kenobi
Wow Steve! Great haircut and beard trim. You look great! Way less sketchy. Thank you for going back and cleaning up some of the mess that others left. If all of us do that, we might just catch up and clean up the world! LOL. Or not....here's hoping. I think you are supposed to start with your hammock tied off just above your head, or thereabouts.
when you said " ah i just stepped on my wine" , i felt that deep down in my dna.
Yeah, urban stealth camping is what i like to watch!!!! This is the video i have been waiting for.
No way! That’s in Kamloops! My home town! Hope you enjoyed it!

As someone who used to cook professionally here, the roux was a solid choice. Didn't look burned to me. Just a darker roux, the kind used for Jambalaya
