Stealth Camping In School Bus
Here is the first camping adventure of our yet-to-be-named school bus camper. We have many adventures planned, and it's going to get less and less stealthy every week, but I just had to get a stealth camp done. I parked right beside a school bus lot to try and blend in as well as possible. The bus is a beautiful gently used 2008 International BE200. Many more camping adventures to come with this beauty.

Hi Steve...Just a short tip on being stealthy with your lighting. On Navy ships at night, they use red-colored lights so that lights are not so obvious when a hatch or doorway is opened. It also helps your eyes focus to the night quicker. It might be something to at least consider when stealth camping!

in the usa it's just about impossible to park in a motel parking anymore. some rest areas allow 8 hours parking. ALOT of walmarts also no longer allow overnight parking. i bought a shuttle bus with a wheelchair lift for camping because im wheelchair bound and they really don't make campers for us. luckily for me it allows me to use campgrounds that now refuse homemade bus campers. they got feedup with some of the Beverly Hillbillies type setups that think its ok to dump greywater and piss pots right in campsites. real campers are built with waste tanks for a reason etc... and some peoples idea of what is acceptable is off the rails. along with folks with... lets just say 'odd diy skills.' everyone isn't as good as steve is. ie. pickup your trash etc.

Steve, quick tip: attach the lamp with museum putty. You can find it at hardware or arts/craft supply stores. It will hold the lamp down but can be removed without ruining the surface of the table. Might also come in handy for attaching the table. Make sure the table feet and floor surface are cleaned with alcohol and dry first.
After watching just about all of Steve’s videos I’ve come to the conclusion that Steve continues to produce videos just to support his shopping addiction. He’s bought enough camping chairs (that seem to never appear in subsequent videos) for five families.
An idea to help blend in with the other busses if you're gonna stay at bus yard more often: Wear a hi-vis vest and do a pretend walkaround safety inspection in the morning.

Also I don’t know if where you stay but some of the newer model buses are more economically friendly school buses are being converted to propane..we’ve been getting a lot of those in lately & they also have a very cool feature which is dimmable lights lol, they also have a distance monitor so if you follow another car closely & they after it attempts to slow down and no response you can risk of the schools bus shutting completely off.

This is my dream size. I am currently doing it in a uhaul van. I reserve them weekly. I don’t go more than 10-20 miles so it doesn’t break the bank. My job and the gym I go to to work out and shower, are a block or two away. I park right in the middle for free at a parking garage. Works out and it’s the way I want to do it.

As an American, I love to see that even Canadians have that same disdainful eye when they hear those psychotic calls of Canadian geese.

@@ChrisTopher-gd8xh when i was doing security for the movie biz we were in a huge compound once that had transient persons cutting through it. Late at night, a large flock of geese - now used to my parked car- would immediately react to the transients and they would all start honking and every one of them would look at the intruder.... I liked them for that but not much else...
Hope to see more crazy neighbor and some solar panel action on the bus. You have had a huge world open up with this thing
YAY. I love the magnets for putting up curtains. You gave me some direction here. I have a bus as well.
The fact that you do such simple things is the attraction of your Chanel , which shows everyone they can camp without $5,000 worth of equipment

School bus camping! I can't wait for the adventures! Good luck steve, you're living what people only dream of.
You crack me up with your stealth camping and this bus takes the cake! But still, my favorite place you camped was on the back side of the town welcome sign with the atv trail on the other side of the shrubs.... That little bus is awesome. Loving it!
I love that in a bus full of seats he ripped out seats and bought a camping chair ! Thank you buddy
Dont worry steve, we took care of the Step 2's!

Longtime fan from Norway just chillin on my couch with a whiskey watching this! There`s just something soothing about Steve and his adventures!
I had a short bus for several years. It was the best vehicle ever to commute with. No one ever cut in front of me or tail gated me. I camped in it a lot. No one ever bothered me. I should have never sold it!

Well said! People know that there's no point tailgating a bus. I've experienced this pleasure already. If there are a bunch behind me I pull over to let them pass.. but it's nice to just enjoy the scenery. :)

@@campingwithsteve Alberta is the only province I know where slower drivers will pull over onto the paved shoulder to let faster vehicles go by.
All of that was awesome Steve, I can’t wait to do it myself
Awesome 👍😎 this build is my personal favorite.
