Фильм және анимация

Camping out for the night on the years coldest night so far. Just stayed in the yard to test the set up in extreme cold before using it in the bush. -33 degrees Celsius.

Thank you so much for what you do! I am a former U.S. Marine with combat-related PTSD, and am currently battling pancreatic cancer. I say this not for pity, but letting you know I live vicariously through you and some other outdoor adventurers since I'm not able to be outdoors in the wild anymore. Your channel helps me relax so much! I do think I could handle camping with you and Crazy Neighbor, however. So if you want a third party, let me know brother! Lol. I live in Minnesota, so I'm used to the cold! 🔥🖤⛺🐻🦅🦆🍁🌭🇺🇸🇨🇦

When i lived in Russia we had a house outside the city which did not have any plumbing or any way of heating it up other than the stove/furnace made out of bricks (not really sure how to translate it correctly!). Anyway my dad and I used to go there in winter (about -30C) and heat up the house. It would take awhile, maybe a few hours to heat up the whole house. We would go to the forest to collect firewood. i used to really enjoy the whole process, especially cooking some food once its warm! :)

Hey Steve, that poor hand! I know that burn hurt. Here's an old trick my husband learned working in restaurants, and I've used it many times throughout the years too. If you get burned, put mustard on the burn immediately. The cold of the mustard will stop the skin damage, and the vinegar draws the heat out. You'll see the area of mustard directly over the burn dry out while the skin around still has wet mustard on it. That means it's working and helping. Just rinse with cool water and reapply. I realize this video is 3 years old but I'm sure that, playing with fire as much as you do, you're gonna get burned again. Be careful and take care!

Your ice tent confirms this. They would have had all animal skins and lodge pole pines with a fire place in the middle. They used buffalo "chips" as fuel mostly. If you put too much wood in a stove there isn’t enough room to let the fire breath air, you will not get as hot of a flame.

I don't know why, but I love these cold weather videos. The coldest I've experienced it about -18 F (-27C) in northern Ohio. But very rarely, it usually stays in the teens , and may dip into the single digits in February. Thinking about camping in it is crazy! In a great way! I told ya, you're going to be at 500k in no time! Thanks for sharing these man, take care.

Awesome video, I like camping in a tent in COLD WEATHER, I have a G-Stove all stainless that thing blows you out of a 20 x 20 x 8‘ ceiling tent , The tent is probably about 65 plus years old (Oil Dipped canvas tent) my grandfather used when he went up to Canada hunting back in the 50s and early 60s, I believe the tent must weigh at least 250 pounds easy, we pull it up on our 4 x 4‘ ATV’s in a trailer, it takes 4 grown men to set it up, but it stays up for 5 weeks during hunting season, Well thanks again for the video, it is nice to see someone else out there enjoying the great outdoors in the winter months and freezing, his ass off also...!!!

Y-ME Farm - How much do you need to put up for a winter? I know it can be different year to year, but how much would be enough for you to feel good about things? When I built my house I’d planned on all wood heat, but at the end I got a big propane tank too - more of a concession to my wife that we weren’t 100% tied to wood. I love that phrase “wood heats you twice, once when you split it and again when you burn it.” It heats me like six times - cutting the tree, dragging it out of wherever if I have to, sawing rounds, splitting it, stacking it, etc.! Still love it.

I'm a Texan and I can sleep when the temperatures are anywhere between 60 - 85 degrees indoors. 80 degrees is good enough for me if I'm wearing a regular nightgown or night shirt or a summery pair of pajamas. I've slept before when the indoor temperature was close to 95, though; it was called "living in a very poorly thought out split level where all the bedrooms were on the top floor and the air conditioner on the bottom". OTOH, anything below 40 degrees would just about kill me. :/
