I never miss a video of yours and as I stated watching I realised that I no longer have any toxic environments anymore. This made me realise how far I’ve come! If anyone is dealing with it right now my prayers are with you believe it’s gonna work for you too as long as you put in the (inner) work ❤

Much needed topic ❤️❤️…I stayed in a toxic household for a limited period of time, but still fell into depression….now I understand the key is to observe as a third person and not take all the bashing personally…so very important lesson and the toxic workplace too…everyone would face it at a point in life…talking from 13+ years of experience in my own corporate journey…thank you so much Alexis❤️…lots of love💕🙏🏻

Thank you for this - can you talk more about your relationship with your dad? My dad is toxic/verbally abusive and Ive decided to limit interaction or even completely cut him off and maybe my mom too because she sometimes feeds into the toxicity... I'm 31 and my parents have been there for me in many ways but also source of holding me back and putting me down in more than unacceptable ways especially of late and it's stunting my growth and robbing my peace. I would love to hear more about your process of detaching and relationship dynamics as well to see if I can relate to anyone else going through this and who came out on the other end successful and thriving ❤

I can so relate to your toxic experience at work, particularly in marketing. I don't know what it is about this environment but, having worked at different workplaces and even with freelance clients, I have noticed so many problematic behaviours. Also, there is a lot of pay inequality in this field of work. I also had an experience whereby I had to fight to get paid, it's just that in my case it was a freelance client. It started well but then they basically began to delay payment and make excuses, my suspicion is that they decided to run off with the project funding because of their personal circumstances. To cut a long story short, I had to write a lot of strongly worked messages to get my money and got paid a bit extra for the delay in the end. It was a big lesson in setting boundaries and asking for what belongs to me and there were times when I doubted myself. You know, am I not being mean, they have this family situation and things like that. Now, I am happy to have pushed through 🙂

I agree it's best to cut off toxic friends. I had to do this with one friend and I distanced myself from the other. Growing up with a narcissist parent really just me confused about what love and friendship looks like. I married a narc guy and I had several close narc friends. After I divorced and started healing work, I realized all of this. The weight loss thing is real. Me and the one who I cut off, used to always power walk together and talk about weight loss. Once she was gone I found the thing that made it easy for me to lose weight and lost 22 lbs almost immediately. I do feel that it's somehow connected to letting her go.

All just because we just look at one constant same angle as you said in considering stepping out of your body is all it takes to just take a moment to realize that your life is not define by your family or people who don’t have a “choice” to be around you. I profoundly thank you for this video Alexis!

I haven’t listened all the way through. (I’m at 4:13.) This is also what my therapist says to me, I am safe right now. As an adult, I can walk away. But I seriously do not feel safe around this person. Maybe I’m ‘somewhat’ physically safe (I wasn’t as a child) but my emotions aren’t safe. My mental health isn’t safe. And really- that level of rage is terrifying to me. Screaming in my face, being pushed, my sister as an adult was pushed down stairs- I don’t know if I can make myself believe I am safe.

A question i have for your brother is, can a man love someone but not change his habits and become a better version of himself for his partner? As in his partner would demand how she wants him to be better at certain things such as fitness, health and job but he would try and give up easily.

Maybe you do look "objectively" prettier with your straight hair. Idk why im feeling the need to tell you that for the next beauty pageant competition your curly hair is a better strategy for you (you might know why). Your straight hair makes an unnecessary noise to me(not here on a simple YT video, but on a one-time-chance stage yes, and perhaps to the judge too. I see it this way: with your straight hair you could get to second place, but with your curly hair maybe not even ranked or maybe first place. (Dont take it too literal, hope I made my point) Thank you so much for the yt content girl. Btw, to my eyes, you and your curlz slay;)
