statement from friendlyjordies

Ойын-сауық

You might have noticed that we haven't been releasing videos after the police arrested a suspect for the firebombing of my house. While we're very grateful for their persistence throughout this ordeal, we felt it would be prudent to see what the response would be from certain individuals.
Their response has been one of rather perplexing confidence. Buoyed by the lack of further arrests they have decided to be much more blunt with their requests, threatening anyone they believe had handed over information to assist with the creation of the video Coronation.
This video detailed links former Deputy Premier John Barilaro had with development company Coronation Property.
The video encompassed more than Coronation Property associates. It included an array of spirited characters, many of whom were enraged with its release. Police have made it very clear that many of the prime suspects in the firebombing are in that video.
Now, over a year later, these figures are once again venting, threatening dire consequences if the video isn't taken down. Given these people's colourful history we don't consider these to be idle threats.
Naturally, we contacted the appropriate authorities, but it appears these men have engulfed the state in a state of fear. It appears these men are indeed above the law. It appears these men are free to point the scythe at anyone they wish, blackmail them with the most heinous, violent acts imaginable and there is not an authority in the land powerful enough, or perhaps foolhardy enough to check them.
We have done our absolute best to keep the video up. Believe me, we have. But if the content of Coronation is to fall on willfully deaf ears, if its only tangible result is the death of innocent people,we will not have their lives hang on our conscience.
In other words, you win. We're taking down the video. Congratulations. You run this city.
We were ignorant of the fact that Sydney is more or less 1920s Chicago. But now that we're fully aware, you are free to run your business without further bother from us. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The real shame in all of this, of course, is that it would have made a great story for self-proclaimed home of Australian investigative journalism Four Corners, that touts that it exists to serve the public interest. And you, of course.
It would be very interesting to hear the editorial rationale for why the paralysing grip that organised crime has over the first state didn't meet that criteria while trying to get to the bottom of why there isn't more homosexual AFL players did.
Questions for another time, perhaps.
The question for now, though, is how did these men accumulate so much power that they have incapacitated any of the so-called estates from acting on matters that question its own ascendancy?
This is not thugs killing other thugs for territory. This is unlawful punishment for reporting on the erosion of state authority. You would think that that would interest the state for self-preservation purposes if nothing else and yet it doesn't.
As such, if the policy is to let sleeping dogs lie, so be it. We can live with that. In fact, we have no choice. We have learned that there is a currency that is far more dependable than the dollar, and that's terror.
We can take solace in the fact that we did our part- more than our part. More than we will ever be able to publicly divulge. We ran out on to no man's land without any support and support never came.

You may not think so, but that may be a bad thing. Lemme explain: He made that video, and took it down because leaving it up was (1) not reaching the ears of those who could help him and NSW, and (2) possibly for fear of his life or that of his family and friends and their families. The other problem this now presents is that by letting 3rd parties keep it up, he has essentially not taken it down in the eyes of those who are threatening him. That may force him to invest time into striking down those videos, which may affect his reputation with the audience he has as someone who never cowered before. It's not our lives that are threatened by keeping his video up, it's his and those around him. ... Obviously, this is all just mere speculation, but he's had all kinds of controversy before, with repercussions in those as well, but those videos remained. If he took it down, then this has become worse than he could handle alone.

Released on the day that Kristina Keneally's police officer son, who fabricated evidence to try to frame a critic of the police, is sentenced to ZERO days in jail. And in the shadow of the high-level officer who got drunk in a police car, crashed it in a motorway tunnel and ditched it. The police successfully told the judge that WE should go to jail if we publicly say that officer's name. The police have an internal crime problem and they successfully prevent any of the "bad apples" from facing any consequences. It's not just that the cops won't go after the criminals, the cops ARE the criminals.

Yes, I read about cop Keneally. The judge said Keneally's offending was only "moderate". Would the other party have gone to jail (for threatening police etc). If so, Keneally goes to jail for that period, plus an extra length for perjury on a sworn statement. I just can't believe-- don't want to believe, but it is unavoidable -- just how rotten this country is, how the most superficial scratch exposes the cesspit of graft and corruption that lies underneath.

You got the glowniggers mixed up. The CIA doesnt do shit like that. Their restricted to only foreign governments, and only care about foreign shit. Its usually the FBI that does shit like assassinating political figures, censoring twitter, and laying bricks around protests and agitating public unrest. They got caught doing fed shit with both BLM and Jan6. Put bricks around both protests, and had agitators try to start shit. Also the FBI literally lied about human organs appearing in silk road so they could take it down. The FBI does shit mostly to justify their existence. The FBI knows crime is at an all time low this decade, compared to every decade before, and that their existence is 80% made redundant by the DEA. They need to justify their funding.

Likely because they'll soon find they've been systematically discredited and have no career. Or they'll suffer an unfortunate and in no way predictable fatal "accident" if they dig too deeply. These people do not take kindly to having their dirty laundry aired in public. Just keep running stories about MAFS, bushfires, and the rental crisis. It's probably safer. The NSW police have a long and sordid history of corruption. The Royal Commission conducted during the nineties uncovered a litany of filthy antics, and they don't seem to have improved much. Fabricating evidence seems to be a speciality. New South Wales - "Just shut up and keep your head down, and we won't have to burn down your house."

This is poetry. I love how well this conveys both sadness and anger, all while maintaining a calm and collected speech. Also, the statement "We have learned that there is a currency that is far more dependable than the dollar, and that's terror" hits hard and is quite quotable.

@@casheverett6300 Not really. Look at any revolution and see the number of innocents that needed to die for any change to occur. Not everyone's gonna choose to metaphorically break their 5 year old daughter's spine by letting her grow up without parents. Friends and family will be lost, your own life is also forfeit in war. The sad reality of humanity is that civilization is just an illusion of stability. It doesn't matter where you live, at the drop of a hat the city you inhabit can be turned into a wasteland by a single bomb. You could be forced to go fight in the trenches as if you'd regressed a century. Do you think the Ukrainians knew their country would turn into a wake up call for the entire western world? No, just a few years ago they felt as safe as you do. And to think that all of this could be avoided if the politicians just did what their job description entails. This is why they are hated so much. Their greed and corruption causes the most evil things on the planet to occur to the most kind and respectable people. It's really not hard to stop a crime family when you've got a full government's worth of force at your disposal, but money makes the government blind. Honestly, we need to go Ted Kaczynski route on the government officials, once they've got something to fear, then they'll start acting.

He can handle receiving pretty much any threat. That wasn’t the issue. The issue is that that piece had input from third parties that were not ready to accept that danger and if jordan didn’t take down their video, the associates and their families were at risk. Jordan was not prepared to have the blood of innocent people on his hands because he can gamble with his own life but not theirs. He’s done the right thing. The video isn’t even gone, it’s re-uploaded everywhere and the title is mentioned on big channels like penguinz0, who mentions that the video can be watched as a re-upload as well as showing parts of this video. My guess would also be that after receiving threats, some associates pleaded with Jordan to take the video down, fearing for their lives and the lives of their families. Jordan could not in good conscience ignore those pleas

Like if this story broke 10-20 years ago everyone would be putting pressure on these tools and they would be forced to step down due to the massive controversy. But i guess you are all considering this as something ''normal'' and not ''controversial'' like where is the outrage all i see are people in the comments saying how these people have soooo much power that is totally illegal in nature and woe is us for we cannot do a thing That attitude is pathetic if we all actually agreed on the premise then it would be pretty much impossible for them to stay in ''power'' Like what you think cause they work in an office that they're immune to public outrage? Well, if those voices are now starting to get silenced, where no authority can help protect those very voices despite the things threatening them fit into them having to protect those voices, then what can it be called? You tell me.

I’m a viewer from Italy. We all know that various criminal organizations exist in this country, and that the fight against them may never cease. However, even here, a case of this magnitude would be unheard of. Nobody in the NSW government, police force, nor press has the integrity to stand against this corruption, and that’s likely because they’re all in on it. And the few that aren’t, were chosen specifically because they are so inept that they would never pose a threat. In Italy, fighting the Mafia has been some people’s lifelong struggle. It’s seen as a virtue in and of itself by anyone who isn’t a criminal. Perhaps there, in Australia, politicians and businesspeople rotted their morals also because they know there isn’t anyone who will fight them. Also, Barilaro really didn’t need to reinforce the stereotype that all Italian politicians are corrupt, but here we are! It must be genetic.

Australians are the most servile and complacent people on the planet. The reason corruption is so openly-rampant here is because those in power know that nobody will rise up to do anything about it. "The nail that sticks out gets hammered" is something Australians abide by, and those who DO decide to do something end up... well, we all just watched this video.
