He got to court and defended himself and his argument was that it was aboriginal land so he doesnt recognize that it was trespassing. Hey man if you live next to Russia USA aint so bad. Russia is going to have to reaaally consider if they want to invade a new member of NATO. From my point of view, USA is definitely not the "baddie". Yes, despite all that shiet. China has their own thing... Genocide. The mass internment of Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims in the camps has become largest-scale arbitrary detention of ethnic and religious minorities since World War II. And Russia is what it has always been.... A real "nice" country that never really stops invading its neighbours. So in short; out of all superpowers USA is the least evil. Still shiet, but its not even fair to compare it to other superpowers. Definitely not THE baddie.

I've worked with a lot of military personnel, their rules sounds pretty harsh on paper but there's a lot of legal protection that they have to stand buy, "shoot to kill" is never, EVER, EVER enforced, they can by their words detain you for "looking shady" but generally that's the last resort now, they will casually walk up to you with big ass guns and rules laws and "kindly as you not to", their power at least in the west is to convince you not to bother them. Usually they just call the police, they definitely have the fire power to blow you up to a fine mist, but just calling the cops on hooligans works just fine, anything that can be seen through a satellite is secured on the ground, you're not going to casually walk up to a zone where they need to shoot you. "yolo it" from their laywer was him saying "dude if you can get some sensitive information and get killed over it, then we got a case against the national defense, I'm pretty sure you're not getting to anything that anybody that can google can find out." The whole case about the last protester was a time before Google.

Yeah, it's long been like that: the special relationship that only goes one way. The Australian Prime Minister who got the sack, Gough Whitlam, was fired by the Governor General. Sure, the GG had CIA connections but still got his actual power from the British, as the Queen's representative here in Australia. In other words, the UK - and the Queen - had to sign off on this sacking. The OK powers might not have liked Whitlam themselves but I'm pretty sure that they would've hated to sack the PM: violation of what was meant to be a ceremonial role, doing dirty work for a bigger power, and doing damage to the support of the monarchy.
