    It seems inadequate to say ‘thank you so much’ guys, but I get quite emotional watching this. For 11 frecken years I’ve been trying to get mainstream media attention to the fact it was the generals and politicians who caused the mess: and if I said that, then ‘I was covering up war crimes’?!. The final nail came when Australia’s premier investigative journalists’ turned out to be working for the Govt. Again. In a country, and world, that is dangerously close to dystopia, you and your subscribers are superheroes to me and my family. Along with @friendlyjordies you are pretty much the last hope for rescue we have. Whatever happens next week, I’ll be that much happier you made this. Proud to call you friends. 👊💪🏼

    He reminds me so much of my middle school history teacher. Mr. Furlow. I cried like a baby at his funeral. He went to Vietnam and lost his legs from an explosion, got shot 13 times, and his hospital was bombed by terrorist + he was shot again. He told us his story when we covered Vietnam and all the true stories he experienced (w a waiver slip ofc). Still tho he was the nicest man I've ever known. He laughed and joked every day (hed pop wheelies in his wheel chair when I called out) despite being in pain from shrapnel and came to class with a smile, even in bad times. Never had a teacher like him ever again.

    How can anything someone says without evidence (which was taken by the government) be trusted. The responsibility for what happens in wars lie with the generals and officers -> they have to get up and say whats true or false and if they lie and take the real truth with themself to the grave it's probably better left unsaid. David McBride's case was last seriously debated in parliament on Nov 13 2023 which was the same day that his trial started. A motion was held to petition the attorney general to use his power to stop this prosecution which was lost 12 to 43. The primary concern from objecting MPs was that as politicians they didn't want to be seen to be making a politically motivated intervention in the justice system. Australians need to put more pressure on their MPs to do something about his case. He actually has support from a decent number of MPs who want to do more to support whistleblowers like him.

    The fact that no one is getting prosecuted except David is so appalling. He did not want to prosecute fall guys himself, yet he ended up becoming one by letting the truth out there. And the fact that that "war hero" or whatever, the golden boy, was suing others for 40 millions $ and ended up showing his true colors in court yet nothing was done to keep this dangerous psychopath off the streets is... Words lack to describe my disgust of this world. Politics and powerful people are despicable. This man wanted to dance with his daughter. He wanted to do the right thing by letting war crimes be known outside of their little cocoon of secrets. Thank you for sharing his story. It's going to stay with me for a long time, as have been all the videos I've watched from this channel.

  • @rhyscooper3693

    @rhyscooper3693

    $40 million was the cost of running the defamation lawsuit, not how much he was claiming as damages in that suit. Running a suit shouldn't cost more than is possibly claimed, this is partly why our courts are backed up for years - cashed up litigants. Entire families would not make that amount of money in their lifetimes. I think it's a gross waste of our collective resources to spend that much to defend the "reputation" of a single war criminal (and still fail). Individuals can be permanently mentally and physically disabled from an intentionally violent and torturous act and the victim wouldn't get near this kind of pay out. Defamation laws in Australia are profoundly classist to suggest that one man's reputation is worth more than another's permanent disability or death, or the lifetime incomes of groups of people.

The u.s. government admits in these documents that they've done these horrible things. So you don't have to take the Press's word for it. In the Bay of Pigs documents they explicitly state that the u.s. wants to install a "provincial government" that is "controlled by CIA" and "approved by State".

    @@i1uvpreppyxo887 I suppose that’s why David McBride commented thanking Jordies. Four Corners took a very different side of the story and concerns than McBride did. They took an award for journalism, they took the information, they twisted the concerns to protect the leadership and then they threw their source, the whistleblower, under the bus. Protect their sources? Yeah right. 🤦‍♀️

    Hahahaha both brilliant and also desperately needed! Although I don't think the drug dogs should be punished (although they are order-followers, they lack the comprehension skills to understand what they're really doing), but the concept is better than anything Hollywood has put out in the past 10 years, and it actually has some educational value.

    @juliana.x0x0 I think that you could easily anthropomorphize the dogs, and show that some are immoral in their actions. That would be an interesting movie for sure. I think it is a good Information giver, but you have to be careful because it would basically immediately be called communist propaganda or anti-national subliminal messaging to manipulate our children.

The way he cackles just exudes joyfulness, and he has a great sense of humor, getting in the shower with you guys, and laughing at you immediately asking how long he's going to prison like 1 second into the interview lmao. It's the insult added to injury to learn that someone like him, (who ostensibly served their country, and then literally served the people by doing the right thing and revealing atrocities on a massive scale,) is ending up getting punished for doing the right thing, despite being such an apparent force for good. Fuck, man...

    I was in Afgahnistan during the 2010 and 2011 on Op Slipper. We'd heard of kill lists. One night on a OP, we hear Task Force 66 (SF rotation) swoop in to the AO under the cover of darkness and light up a qala down the road. The next day we would head out the check the scene in the morning. While out Intel officer and platoon commander went in to get details. We waited outside the the local kids. Now, I know kids lie, I'm now a school teacher, but the detail those kids told us about what went on and how things went happened shocked us match exactly the type of stories. Even then, in country, we knew something wasn't right about what they (SF) were operating.
