A great vid, probably need to go through it several times. I tried moving to bodyweight training a few years ago, but keep hitting snags because of all the imbalances Ive accrued over the years, which I cant seem to shake. You work with a lot of clients over 40 so Im sure you get it. Would be interested to know how that ceiling bars is connected. On the zoom-in it seems makeshift: 90 degree screw fit joints and bar, does the job and saves a few quid. Would be interested to know: how its secured to the joists, the sizes and ratings of the bits and bobs. Cheers

i have no clue, why this channel does not have a lot more subscribers! aaand i have a question since crow pose seems to be some kind of gateway drug to more advanced stuff and i cannot do it: i am 1m98 and 120kg, have bad flexibility in my wrists (and everywhere else but that's another story) and do not even have the strength to play around with balance in crow pose. i manage to get into the pose and stay there for a few seconds when i am lucky and found the balance point. from there i just fall over on direction or the other. so, how do i prepare my fingers, wrists and arms ideally for the task...?

The push-up positions are hard to do close to the floor if you have a fat tummy because the tummy is touching the floor lol I think most of these are a little advanced for people just starting ouyt also most people dont have bars to hang from in their homes plus if you are like me over 60+ yrs old and 6'2" it's a little hard not to touch the standard ceiling. that said I will use some of what is mentioned in here as a warm up for Chi Gong but most of the other parts I can't do not because I don't have the strength or flexibility but because on my place I live in is very small just one room and like i said being 6'2" over 240 Lbs it is a little difficult to move around in such a tiny place lol

  • @PaulTwyman

Yes everyone will need to find their progressions that fit their current level and training space or home. Elevating hands on a table, kitchen top or back of the sofa works well for the Push up movements and replace the hanging with Thoracic foam rolling if you don't have anywhere to hang, the local playground is great for hanging when you can

@@PaulTwyman Sure! I don't think it's a good idea to put yourself upside-down if you are dealing with hypertension... ...but I can be wrong...

Yes! same at any age, you need to consider current level, conditioning and training experience. Then slowly progress through the progressions at the pace that fits your recovery etc.

This might have qualified as a beginner calisthenics video if there were more details about the exercises that included progressions to work your way to what was shown on screen. But as is, this is not a beginner video.

Yeah it’s super tricky to know what levels are suitable for each individual, it’s impossible to give the correct progressions on a KZread video. Even classifying what’s Beginner, Intermediate or advanced as it all relevant to the individual.
