Your videos are great. You do an outstanding job of showing positives and negatives, as well as providing great explanations as to why you feel a certain way about whatever product you're covering.

Helio, Can you comment on your router setup and power inside the cab? What worked best/lessons learned from 8 day trip. Thanks

I’m just using the Starlink router. I initially had it powered by the trucks inverter but everytime the truck was off, so was Starlink and it took 15-20 min sometimes to regain service. So I switched to a small external inverter to power the router that connected to the conflicted 2 12 volt power that is always on. And that worked way, way better. But I did have to remember to turn it off at the end of the day so it did not drain the battery. I have the inverter linked in the description and we showed where we placed the router in the videob

4th option for emergency connectivity is iPhone 14 and 15 with emergency satellite 🛰️ call capabilities.

True, but that’s not going to help you if you just broke down. That’s only for emergencies. Some dispatcher is not going to be too happy is someone used that service to get a tow

Your trip to White rim road is so gorgeous, how'd the raptor do on the switchbacks? I took my jeep there during covid and I'd love to try my raptor as well but some of the corners felt sketchy as is. Did you have to get spotted alot?

So mine being 6in wider with the SVC kit up front it did make it challenging sometimes. Truck barely fit on some sections. But we took it slow, locked the rear and did a few 3 point turns on the switchbacks and made it thru just fine with little to no 4wd. Mickeys did a good job of finding grip and just taking it slow made the difference. I’m deathly afraid of heights so my nerves were the only thing strained. Truck did great

A little off topic here. Love your very informative videos but Man if you would do similar videos to “the story till now “ but since your cinematic would be Baja style. I think your KZread channel would easily surpass 1 million subscribers

Not even that channel has that many subscribers. And no one gets views on YT copying someone else’s style man. Have to do your own. I’m OK with my audience. Raptor community is fairly small and those that follow me are DIY guys which is rare in the raptor community anyways.

I didn’t mean it as a form of disrespect to your channel. I been watching you since day one. It was more of a thinking out loud moment when I seen your cool shots with the drone. The only thing that comes close to showing us off road and cinematic scenes is the Raptor run which only shows us a few seconds of off-roading and the rest just people talking about how great it is.

lol. Yeah I know what you mean. Most raptor videos are hard to watch. They either show 10 raptors doing the same thing over and over and over again. OR they focus on the overly pat on the back, how great this is, but hide all the breakdowns video. I suck at shooting run videos. I wish I would have gotten more clips on my last run. So I struggle with trying to tell a story rather than do what everyone else does. It will take me some time but hope to wrap a story on th next few videos and focus on the clips we got. But that also is hard. Can’t drone in canyonlands. The drone shot you saw here is from Moab, BLM land adjacent to canyonlands.

Not at all. Jon is running suction cups on his gen2 raptor on the rear glass without any issues. I know a few using suctions cups and as long as you get high quality strong suction cups, they work.

I’m looking at using this mount on my motorhome. Would you have any concerns with that? I just worry about it’s ability to connect without being able to self-adjust. (I also have a Raptor btw 😉)

We were getting 95-110 speed downloads with it sitting flat and not able to adjust. Yes you can get higher speeds if it can move, but only marginally. The dish is very efficient. Specially if you get the gen3 standard dish that just came out. That one just has a kick stand. Thinking of getting it myself and doing a flat mount install

Sick setup. How was the gas consumption with that big supercharged v8 on the trip? Also how much fuel do you carry with you if any? Great video!

She likes to chug. Typically on the road I’m lucky to get 9mpgs because of the 37s and weigh I carry. In this trip we were not going fast, can’t on the white rim road so I did not get down to my typical 6mpg going fast. I averaged 8-9mpgs and that’s enough for 250 offroad miles. So I only carry a single 5gal gas can and plan ahead. The whole white rim road is 80 miles, 100 with the trails back to pavement, so range was not a worry here.
