Dr. Hemlock is the type of guy to sit in a room full of toxins to grow an immunity to it

You might know this about our good Dr Hemlock, and this is a nice nod to the poison gas scene. Hemlock is a poison, famous for being the poison used to execute the philosopher Socrates. Fun reaction as always! Finales are super intense! 😀

Those needle droids do sometimes carry a truth serum type of drug. I think they can just carry whatever the owner wants, whether that or just a pain-inducing drug like in this episode, or something else Also if you notice when Crosshair was trying to escape, he actually missed a couple shots, which he never does. It shows you how much the pain drug was affecting him.

That's fair. One thing I have learned about all the recent releases with Star Wars is that not everything is for every fan. I love Bad Batch. Especially season 2. But I know lots of fans that aren't hugely impressed by it. I also LOVE Andor but my wife who likes a lot of Star Wars didn't like it much at all. I DON'T like the Obi Wan show much but I have a couple friends that think it's the best Star Wars in a long while. As much as people think Disney is just getting lucky... I think they have been taking a shotgun approach with tones and themes of their shows in order to keep a lot of fans moderately happy. Sadly I think for some core long term fans... they become disaallusioned with it.
