    @Rothvic Solevanti Honestly? I'm not sure. I had an idea in mind for a Mandalorian Wars film but now I know the KOTOR Movie Saga guys are working on one I really don't see the point. They could blow mine out of the water easily! I have a few different ideas in mind for other KOTOR spin off stuff I could do, so we'll see. Oh and I do believe their project is still very much alive, these things just take time :)

    How does this have so few views? I've watched a couple of other KOTOR "movies", and holy cow, there is no comparison to the incredible amount of work that was put into removing the fluff, improving subtitles, adding full dialogue for the main character, and crafting this game into a true cinematic narrative. For me, this series is THE definitive version of the game.

    I love how likable Dann is in this film. There are only the smallest hints of who he will become, and he genuinely cares about his friends which makes his eventual fall so much more tragic. The storytelling pacing is very well done. The scene in the Krayt Dragon cave is the best of the movie!

    I love how that title card happened 9 minutes into story. Like a true modern Star Wars spinoff. "Alright, soldier, let's move out!" And the credits are quite cool too. I never thought Jennifer Hale would star in a fanfilm. Granted, it's because she was in the original game so her audio is reused, but semantics count.

    Hello Darth Varkor. How are you? So I watched your movie last night. Very good. Looking forward to the rest of the series. After reading the description, I really hope you consider an alternate version to play off of this film where there is a redemption arc. Call them alternate parts! 😜 There are little things that I believe would feel more Star Wars-ish in the dialogue. For example; instead of using, "Oh crap!" The Dann character says, "Oh blast it!" Another is the Sith sound when a red lightsaber turns on. To get clear audio without too much music or other things going on in the films, just listen to when Vader turns on his lightsaber right before dueling Luke in ESB, when Vader turns it his saber on when protecting the Emperor and when he retrieves his lightsaber after throwing it at Luke in ROTJ, when Darth Maul turns on both of his blades on to face Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon on Naboo; right before the force field lowers after Qui-Gon is stabbed by Maul, when Dooku turns on his lightsaber when challenging Yoda on Geonosis, Palpatine telling Mace Windu "It's treason then" and listen to his lightsaber turn on. Or a simple way is to listen to Bastila turn on her red double-bladed lightsaber in this old video of mine that is in 240p since it was before the time before KZread was bought by Google for example: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hKZ_ls2KgNHgZLg.html It was very particular about that as you can hear the differences between my character's blue lightsaber and Bastila's red. For Bastila's lightsaber hilt model, I would have used T7nowhere's from his Weapons of the Old Republic mod instead of the default BioWare model. Here's a photo of it: i.imgur.com/sYg75jC.jpg Again, they're just minor things, but overall it was really fun to watch. Some very creative story telling. I was left for wanting more when the credits rolled! 😀

    Wait...the "Shem L"?! Dude, I used to watch your mod videos CONSTANTLY when I was a kid. Great to see you back on KZread. You're a bit of a legend on the modding scene, so that's very high praise coming from you - thanks! I agree with you about the Star Wars dialogue. My argument for including "crap, bastard, etc." in the past has always been that I'm trying to humanize the characters - or, humanize them as much as possible when working with NPCs from 2003 - but I do agree it doesn't always work. I'm currently in the midst of my second draft of the script for Ep2 so that's something I'll keep in mind. Same with the lightsaber SFX. In the past for my TSL films (they're on my channel too) I gave Revan & Zekk (the Exile) their own unique lightsaber sounds. Zekk's being the ignition SFX from The Force Awakens, that's something I definitely dropped the ball with here. I've got a nice SFX for Malak's saber planned, so I'll have a look into finding definitive ones for Dann & Bastila, too. I have all the SFX from the game and various Star Wars SFX in my library, so I have no excuse not to, really. Thanks for your feedback, I hope you like my TSL films and the next two installments, too!

    Cool that you know who I am. I've been away for so long that I don't expect people to remember me. Yes, I am currently watching your TSL videos. I'm about 2 hours into the 1st part so I'm almost done with Part 1. If life would permit it at times, I would be further along in watching the full 4 parts. And I have to tell you. I enjoy the story your telling so far. The extra characters you add in are fun. I can see that you have progressed in your movie making skills. It's weird seeing the Exile and some of the added extras that are typically selectable heads speak without their mouths moving. Especially after seeing "Dann" have his mouth moving. But to me, I can get past that. That's petty stuff. I'm just interested in the story and the way it's told. I do understand wanting to make your characters come off as human. But keep in mind that humans have different cultures of how they express their feelings throughout the world. Like when watching "Return of the Exile" and when the Exile says, "My God" when seeing the death on the Harbinger. To give the same human type emotion, but talk like you're in Star Wars, you can say in the same tone, "By the Force..." I really felt the humanity when he used "My God" in that moment. But I still would have felt the same humanity if using "By the Force" instead with the same voice tone while feeling I'm in the Star Wars world. Again, these are just silly critiques overall.

    Almost forgot. I hope you didn't get the wrong idea I don't like the idea of Revan going to the dark side. Not at all. But I should clarify the reason why I would want to see what you would do with an alternate light side part when your decide "Dann" have to make a choice is because there's a part in the light side story that has always made me feel emotional. When Revan uses his love for Bastila to bring her back to the light on the Star Forge. Just hearing Bastila saying nothing would make her safer than to be loved by you is so touching. And the way you are making this film, it would awesome to see. But if you ever want something to do when you're done with your original story you want to tell, there's an idea for you if you're down. But seriously, do your original idea first. But again, if you're in a mood to do more after you're done... Here are things I loved I should have brought up. Bastila watching her father's messages on his holocron. So damn good. I felt the emotion. Calo Nord working with Dark Jedi to go after Revan. That's creative. I never thought of doing that as a mod when I was an active modder and it makes me wish I explored that to see how I would have liked it in normal game play. Canderous briefly piloting the Ebon Hawk. Small detail, but I loved it. The choreography of the Swoop race. Having your party watch from the cantina was also a nice touch. The different clothing you changed characters to. Like "Dann" from the republic uniform to the solider clothing and so forth was changed at the right times and it make sense. Bastila in armor was weird. I have her wear commoner clothing the whole time on Taris and switch to Jedi robes right before we board the Ebon Hawk so she's in them when landing on Dantooine. I'm sure there are others things, but seriously I was so into what was going on. I really like how involved all the party members are in the plot. Overall, some damn good film making and some damn good story telling. I'm so looking forward to watching the next part.

    @@JediShemL Thanks for the feedback! My TSL films are a slow progression of me getting better at modifying the games so they get better (imo) as they progress. I do plan to go back to Return of the Exile one day for a Special Edition as there are many things in that film that irk me nowadays and just aren't up to standard. But I definitely agree with you on the language issues, as I said, I'm still writing Episode 2 so that'll be on my list to review and revise. I'm really glad you liked the little details I tried to put in the film. I want them to feel unique so I'm pleased it payed off. Oh, and my reason for Bastila wearing armor during Davik's Estate is, like Dann, she's posing as a mercenary for hire. I know exactly what you mean about the Light Side ending of KOTOR, the love story tied into redeeming Bastila (and Revan to an extent) is played wonderfully in the game. Doing an alternate LS ending is something I may consider, sure, but it'd be an incredible amount of work after film 3 is finished. Either way, I think you'll like what I've got planned for the ending of this trilogy...

  • @JediShemL

    @JediShemL

    Oh, I do love playing dark side at times. It's funny I always preferred light side over dark in K1. But in TSL, I preferred the dark. I like the idea of the Exile hunting down the Jedi that exiled him/her. I actually got some time to work on more TSL movies. I'm on Part 3. Just watched Kreia siphon the life out of the Jedi Masters and walk away with her left hand magically back and then gone again when before we aboard the Ebon Hawk and kicking everyone's ass on it. 😜 But the makers did a similar mistake. The cut scene where Sion and Nihilus betray Kreia, she's missing her left hand even though it's suppose to be before that. Not finished yet, but I can see the progress of your movie making skills. Kinda of interesting how you had the attack on Telos before the Iziz Civil War and the meeting of the Jedi Masters on Dantooine. Didn't expect that. But I do have a "query" (my HK-47 impression). What stopped Nihilus from sucking the life out of Revan to take control of the role of Dark Lord of the Sith since he could just do that to about anyone except Sion, and the Exile? I don't know if that will be explained because Nihilus is dead where I'm at. I'm a detail guy for sure. When I was making my videos and getting better at it back in the day, I would really pay attention to the details more of what is going to be shown on screen along with the timing of the sounds, music, etc. But I also sometimes have a knack for catching inconsistency in movies that directors make. It's sometimes funny to see videos made of things I already noticed later on.

    Dang, having to deal with his companions constant bickering and fighting, along with having to purchase T3, because Canderous neglected to bring that up, I'd hate to see what would happen if this Dann guy were to snap and fall to the dark side.

    In Star Wars, the British accent is the accent of humans native to Coruscant. In Episode IV, Coruscant is the centre of the evil Galactic Empire, so most of the bad guys have British accents. But back in the Old Republic, Coruscant is the capital of the Republic. And therefore many of the good guys have British accents.
