Star Wars: KOTOR - Legacy of the Sith - FULL MOVIE (KOTOR Machinima)

Ойын-сауық

At long last, it's finally here! The penultimate chapter in my KOTOR Movie Series. Picking up directly where The Lost Masters ended, the war against the Sith begins...
I want to give a big thanks to everyone who was involved in this project, as well as you guys sticking with me throughout the long production period. It took a while, but I'm proud of the end result.
A very special thanks goes out to Jenks for his amazing contribution towards the film, in not only teaching me how to write custom animation scripts, but in also helping with some of the more complex ones, I really appreciate it!
ENJOY!

Hey everyone, for those who are interested I have a small update on the next and final film. I'm currently around 26 minutes into the film (though this one is being edited slightly out of order so it's hard to tell properly) and I'm really pleased with it so far. I'm aiming to make it the best of all four films and go out with a bang, I'm really excited to show it off, expect some major feels in this last one! With that said, like Legacy of the Sith, it is going to take me some time. I have a busy year ahead of me with my uni work, and that thing I have sometimes called real life. So thank you for your patience! I'm hoping to have a teaser out for it this winter, hopefully around November time, like I have done with the previous two films. - DV

This movie is amazing. I love how you portrayed nihlus, this is exactly what the emperor is swtor lacked, he was over powered, but he lacked the horror and suspension that nihlus carried. It truly felt like nihlus was death and destruction itself.

I love how Revan's the final boss in all of this. Most fanfilms just have him be the good guy. Maybe once he conquers the Republic, he's going to firebomb the True Sith Empire into the stone age........ Although, having an evil Revan around reminded me of a story where Canderous and HK-47 were still loyal to him, and then they used stun grenades to capture the Exile and his crew and brought them to the Star Forge as prisoners for Revan.............

Damn right he's the bad guy, he makes baddies like Vader, Thanos, etc. look like little kids ;) BTW, there's no "True Sith Empire" in my films. I'm completely retconning all of TOR's character assassination on Revan. This film will be the final entry in the series... chronologically, at least.

I have an idea how you can proceed with it: What if, in the 5-year gap between KOTOR 1 and 2, Revan took his Star Forge fleet along with Bastila's Battle Meditation and wiped out the True Sith Empire? That would explain why he is only now turning his attention back to the Republic, since he spent the last 5 years bombing the Dromund Kaas Sith Empire into extinction and hunting down its Emperor like a pig. That would explain why he didn't just bum-rush Coruscant right after the KOTOR 1 Dark Side ending, and why he's moving against the Republic 5 years after regaining the Star Forge. Revan can then mock the Exile, talking about how he doesn't stand a chance, since Revan just annihilated a rival Sith Empire and killed its overpowered Emperor. That would make the final confrontation between Revan and the Exile more theatric, especially when Revan boasts of how he took what Malak did to Taris, and enacted that against the entirety of the Dromund Kaas Sith Empire.

My Revan's original plan to fight the Sith Emperor was, after conquering the Republic, he'd use his massive fleet and his sect of Malachor Sith Assassins to fight the True Sith Empire. His fleets would overwhelm the Sith Emperor's, and would bomb the Empire's cities into the stone age. While his Malachor Assassins would hunt down the Emperor's Sith Lords, and they'd help Revan fight the Sith Emperor himself by draining out his power and using that power against him. To that end, my Revan even allowed one of his close associates to run across the galaxy and using the Force to drain life from power sources, be they Jedi or the environment, so they'd have enough power to face the Emperor. This would explain why Revan went with the Star Forge and the Sith Assassins plan, aside from how they were useful against the Republic and the Jedi. Then it all goes to shit when Malak blows him up and he gets taken by Bastila.

@@DarthVarkor Fun fact, I just got a Darth Revan action figure to go with my collection. Black Series. It reminds me well of this scene where he interrogates this Mando. But I also wrote my own take on how Revan got through the Mandalorian Wars up to Taris. Here, take a look: www.deviantart.com/vader999/art/Revan-Family-Story-Part-1-811160639 www.deviantart.com/vader999/art/Revan-Family-Story-Part-2-811161711 www.deviantart.com/vader999/art/Revan-Family-Story-Part-3-811162398 Looking back at this scene, with Revan making a Mandalorian Field Marshal look like a weenie, it reminds me of what my Revan told Bendak Starkiller before he died: Bendak was befuddled. Not since the Mandalorian Wars did he find an opponent this strong. Bendak looked at the Stranger, not realizing who he really was, and asked him “WHO ARE YOU!?” As he looked up to his attacker, he began to feel a chilling sensation work its way through his spine. Revan whispered to him the truth: “I am the slayer of your Mandalore, the terror of your race, I am Darth Revan, the true Lord of the Sith. When you meet Mandalore on the other side, send him my regards.” Before Bendak can muster a response, Revan blasted Bendak through the visor with his own blaster pistol.

This was it. This was the moment you hit your stride into actual Hollywood cinema quality. To be honest, I didn't think any of the KOTOR 2 content would surpass your KOTOR 1 content because how much I loved those, but I was wrong... This was the best film so far for me. KOTOR 2's story in game is brilliant, one of the best in Star Wars, but is told awkwardly at times and the unfinished aspects plagued it, even with the Restored Content mod. But the liberties you took to improve upon the narrative really brought this story to perfection. The theme of loss, hopelessness, and perseverance is heart wrenching in LotS. I really think the voice actors nailed it in this performance too, especially the improvements from Zekk. I could feel his emotions through the writing. Such bold story telling decisions that push this story into something truly epic. The ending scenes on Onderon blew me away, and I knew I was watching something special. If someone took your script here and adapted it to the big screen I have zero doubt it would be recognized as the best Star Wars film of all time. The overarching themes hit perfectly and this is a journey not for the light hearted. It is heavy, and this one will stick with me for years. THIS is the Jedi Exile I will remember, and the KOTOR 2 story I will tell. And of course, Revan is brilliantly handled as he should have been. Menacing, broken, but determined. Dantooine was a heavy moment too but man this was beautiful. I can't believe there's only one more left... I know it will be another roller coaster of emotions but I am more than excited!

I personally have a lot of issues with this film and would do a lot of things differently if I could do it again but it means a lot to hear such high praise about it. I'm glad the themes you spoke of were clear in the film because my goal was to tell a slightly more personal tale about grief amidst a brewing war. Thank you, I think you'll really like the next one!

From what I've read....it's never been confirmed but it was highlighted by KOTOR II's developer that it was a good catch since both Kreia and Kae look Echani. Both claim they were Revan's first master. So it's a good bet that that Kreia and Kae are the same person. It's just never been confirmed in the canon.

Now that the film has been out for a while, which out of all three films is your favourite so far? Feel free to give as many reason as you want; story, characters, pacing, action sequences, etc. Even rank them if that helps! Any feedback will help me make sure the final film is the best it can possibly be.

I really liked the pacing of the first film. Such a good streamlining of the first missions and a greater scale of the Battle of Dantooine. Now I'm dying with anticipation on where you are going to take the Dark Revan character!

  • @snufftbunz

    @snufftbunz

    6 жыл бұрын

Well, I found these looking for an easy and digestible way to convey the story of the game to some other people who don't play games but love star wars, so initially I was looking for something that kept with the tone of the game and kept the core themes in place while also providing a good view into all of the characters. You've mostly done that (minus a few embellishments- the glossing over of the peragus incident, all the unnamed and slightly underdeveloped apprentices of nihilus and sion, the dantoine battle being made bigger, the Telos battle happening earlier and nihilus not being lured there by kreia, and no real heavy mention of the mass shadow generator or the full extent of malachor's impact on the exile, and the inclusion of revan as an antagonist among others) But while I was initially thrown off by a lot of the changes I've grown to really enjoy these films as more than just a showcase of Kotor 2's story, but as a unique portrayal of your own story in the world. It really is fantastic what you've done here and I've come to actually enjoy many of the changes you've made and I'm invested on a level past just enjoying kotor 2's story- I genuinely want to see where you're going with these now. You've got a new fan, keep up the quality work and keep improving on each movie you make. If you need any voice work, feel free to let me know. I've got a good studio mic and I've done some other voice work for mods and such. To rank the movie's best to worst Id say: 2) I felt it had the best pacing, I enjoyed seeing the companion development here, and there was a considerable jump in quality in the technology and audio used from 1 to 2. Not to mention all the sequences on Korriban. Those were brilliant, I actually forgot I was watching a fan film, that's how engrossed I was. I kept asking myself where you got the voices for all of Malak and Kreia's dialogue, and it gave Sion a weight and sense of dread that he didn't get in the game. However, I wished Nihilus had gotten the same treatment. Other's may not have the same gripes concerning him as I did, and It probably just stems from me being a nit-picky fanboy of Nihilus because I don't think he got enough build up in the games either. But I feel like what made him intimidating was the sense of mystery around him, and the build up of his powers (which you did do amazingly with the scene with Visas and the homeworld) but where it faltered was the stripping away of his mystery, namely the subtitles. I understand why it was done as he took a more active role in your films where he was more reactive in your games, but that's still my feedback on the subject. Still loved the film though. 3)I liked the fight in the beginning and the handling of Kreia and her plotting and schemes; you made me pity her more than I did in the games by making her handmaiden's mother and focusing more on her endeavors as a jedi instead of solely as treya, which I loved. I'm still unsure on the whole revan coming back thing but I'm also really intrigued to see where you take it. I did miss the emphasis on side character development as it was very combat heavy, and the throne room sequence seemed awkward as the exile's moral stance seemed very flippant. Also, everything involving nihilus's other apprentice seemed like a missed opportunity; her character looked generic and seemed very under developed. I always wondered why the exile bounced back and forth so hard between blind rage and being a paragon of justice as well. What made me love this one so much was the ending and the setup for the fourth, like I said, how you did Kreia really carried this one. 1) I still enjoyed this one, and it was a very neat and self contained story that sets up for the greater conflict, like how a new hope did. My main gripes came from it seeming a lot lighter and tonally inconsistent than the game, but that also may have just been because I hadn't fully gotten on board the direction you're taking the story. The voice acting was also a lot rougher and it had some cringy moments in spite of good characterization, which has been well remedied in the later ones so it's not really an issue. It really just felt like you were feeling out the characters and learning the best way to go about making these films, and were dealing with some growing pains.Really entertaining and fun feeling film though. I hope I don't seem too nitpicky- I am REALLY enjoying these films. They ended up being way above the standard I expected and I've had a blast watching them. I just want to supply good feedback like you asked so that you can better improve and learn from your work. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next one!

Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it! I welcome any form of feedback/criticism as long as it isn't belligerent (we have to be tough-skinned in the industry I'm hoping to enter anyway), so I really appreciate the time you took to rank and go into detail on all three films. The second film is probably my favorite, too. I'm glad you liked what I did with Kreia, my exact goal with her was to make the audience feel sympathy for her, glad it worked! I always viewed LotS as Kreia's story. One major piece of feedback I take from these films is Zekk's personality changes, what I try to do with him is show how unstable he is, particularly in LotS as he's dealing with Sasha's death. To me, I've always seen him as a character who walks the line between light and the dark-side; he's a good man deep down, but is conflicted by a lot of anger, he never was good at being a Jedi. With that said, writing characters is always something that can be improved on, and I hope you'll like what I do with him in the final film. I hear you about being unsure on Revan, but I promise I'm doing my absolute best to do everyone's favorite Sith Lord justice! ;) Thanks again for your thoughts!

Looking back on it, one of my main problem's with this film is how I handled Nihlus. If I were to go back and change one thing; it would be his involvement. I originally had planned for him to survive his fight with Zekk & stick around for the battle of Iziz, but I couldn't think of a way to have him in there especially seeing as his ship blows up during the battle of Telos. Also, I didn't want to detract from the conflict between Zekk and Nihlus' apprentice. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Ok so after watching this I have some questions 1. When Kreia AKA Darth Traya did that purple lighting thingie (real intelligent discription eh?) and turned around and as she walked off, her cut off hand was back in it's place. Was that a glitch or was she somehow able to regrow her hand? 2. Do u plan on having Sasha's force spirit appear at one point or another? 3(final question). Does Bao Dur become a Jedi at one point?

The way things are I can see the story going in two directions. Where Revan is able to convince Zeck to join him and conquer the last of the Republic forces and it,s fleets or Zeck refulgence and he will fight Revan. And then at some point Revan will notice Bastila and distract Zeck long enough Zeck manganese to wound him and just as he is about to kill Revan Bastila steps in and stabs Zeck in the back.
