Well this was technically the last time David Prowse portrayed Darth Vader. R.I.P. my friend.

The way Vader talks here is oddly endearing, as if he were merely scolding a bunch of unruly children while not trying to overly frighten them.

@TheEncyclopediaofPopCulture 2 Prowse didn't play Vader in Rouge One he's in his 70's and shrunk way too much. There was actually two guys in the suite for both scenes on Mustafar was one and end scene was a totally different dude

Mustafar was a completely different film (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith), Rogue One was Scarif in the scene where Vader appears. Spencer Wilding portrays the physical form of Vader during the meeting with Krennic on Scarif and on board the Star Destroyer, Daniel Naprous takes over for the scene at the end of the movie where Darth Vader uses his lightsaber.

@@acurisur u are dealing with a true SW nerd here bro. Mustafar is in three films. Revenge, Rouge One, and Rise of Skywalker. It's the very first planet u see Kylo on he is getting Vader's wayfinder. The planet is changing back into a plant based planet because of a certain thing I forget what it's called. Vader tried using it to bring Padme back but locals got a hold of it to change their planet back to normal from volcanic

It was all the rage in the 80s and 90s. The idea that the TV could host the game and talk to the other players was quite the innovative one and even continued a bit into the DVD era aka the early 2000s like with Trivial Pursuit Star Wars Saga Edition that came with a DVD to use.

I remember playing this game as a kid. I bought a copy off eBay but don’t have a VHS player! Thanks for putting this up so the play can continue!

It's still wild to see the production value on display. They not only got James Earl Jones back to do the voice of Darth Vader but David Prowse as well to portray the body as well as getting out costumes and props from the films from storage FOR A VCR BOARD GAME and this was two years before the Special Editions and three years before the prequels started.

Rest In Peace, David Prowse. May the Force be with you.

My friends and I played and we literally screamed for the entire hour.

I know I played it and we did the same thing but when it was near the end of the game

Prowse for me is really the only actor that ever looked completely natural in the Vader suit; he has every movement down to a T. Spencer Wilding as well as Christensen did great, but occasionally came across as somewhat stiff with their movements. Even in his 60’s, Prowse still had it.

The first scene in Rogue One with Vader, you would think it was Prowse! The only difference I saw was the fact that Vader walks at mostly a fast pace, Spencer under the mask should have done that. David Prowse really set a tone for the character. Even though he was an arrogant asshole in real life, he definately is Vader, thru and thru.

A forgotten piece of Star Wars which was actually quite a big deal back then. Picture 1995. The "Special Editions" were a couple of years away and the prequel trilogy wouldn't begin for another four years. This was the first new footage of ANY kind we got in over a decade. Sadly, this didn't last long and the game itself ended when VHS fell out of favor.

@@IndyDefense it was a trend in the 80's too. "VCR Games" were quite the popular thing with titles such as "CLUE" VCR, NIGHTMARE, and sports games endorsed by the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB. They typically fused live video action in conjunction with a standard board game (the basketball game even came with a mini hoop and ball for free throws!!). It was an era when they really pushed the capabilities of videotapes in those days before the internet really took off.

@@drawingtheways3601 It's a board game you play on a table. I don't remember the rules, but you play the video which acts as a countdown timer while you play. The video also tells you certain events that occur during the game.

I read about this game in the SW fan mag way back in the mid 90's. I knew Taylor shot it with Prowse/JEJ reprising Vader. Never got to see it until today. THANK YOU!

The last time We get to experience the Original Trilogy. Before the Dark times... Before Rian & JJ... In all seriousness, Watching this feels more like an ASMR but with jump-scares from those Tie Fighters & Tie Interceptors, 4th Wall breaking shenanigans of Darth Vader & The Imperial Army and stock footages of the Original Trilogy in the mix.

Well you just created opened up a memory hole for me I haven't felt this presence since I was ten. Thanks.

He wore the suit 1 more time in a documentary they filmed the vader death scene with him taking the helmet off , lucas blocked it and the footage was never released but still exists
