As always, another piece of art. Absolutely beautiful. You have a particular total domain of 3D design, weathering, and airbrushing skills. That's without mention of the other many skills you've shown since the beginning of your channel. And I knew it since then, too, that this channel will be a great success. Congratulations. Thank you very much for all the shows that take our mind to another galaxy far, far away.
This is just too awesome. I have a chunk of foam packing material I’ve been saving for just such a project. It is the size and shape of a Tatooine type building. Thank you for the inspiration.
I love the Star Wars universe, I love what you build and I love your production. You definitely deserve more subscribers.

5:03 I actually kind of like the dull look. It seems to help deliver the "used" or " lived in" look that made Star Wars so much more believable. This is one of the reasons I am such a huge fan of the wholly underrated "Robinson Crusoe on Mars" film from 1964. They made a disastrous crash landing on Mars look plausible. I also loved the 60s concepts of exploratory spacecraft that looked like they came from the pages of a NASA manual. Because they probably did! This was a good build. I am looking forward to the next installment, especially those viewscreens!

Love it! The 3D printing gave you a great result. What a cool tool. It feels like in theory it would be easier to get the overall look you are after instead of missing out on that perfect kitbased part. I've always done things like this entirely by hand w/ kit-bashing & scratch-building (which I do love doing), but would love to get a 3D printer to supplement my other building methods. Loving this series so far, the newest stall adds so much life to the scene. I love the colors you chose for it. I can't wait for the next video.

Thank you!! I agree about the 3D printing. With this entire project I think you’ll see us use a healthy amount of both. I’ve been thinking about several kit-bashing projects as well. It’s such an enjoyable process.

Hay enjoyed this episode, very cool addition to the pit build. Don't sweat the trouble you are having with the 3-D prints, that happens with all new creative materials ( I like to thank of it as a learning curve which may teach you a technique by accident that you can use on a later project.)

@12:15 "no-ones gonna see it but makes me feel good" I was doing some modelling at work years ago on a very slow day, (back then my boss was also my best mate and was OK with it long as it didn't get in the way of work) and I was doing some painting of a plane interior and such and he said "why are you doing that, no-ones going to see it" and I gave the exact same answer - I'm doing it because I'll know it's there and is "accurate" to my design idea.

You make it look so ‘easy’. Just a few minutes in Fusion. A few minutes on the resin printer….i mean many hours of reprinting in resin. Dab a bit of paint here and there. Dig out those special tiny turned brass bottles you just happen to have laying around. A few wires and WHAMMO!! You’ve got yourself a real Star Warsy looking bar. Y’all amaze me with your endless talent, your vision, and your wee little 3d self portraits. They’re GRRRREAT!!!

@@TheSmugglersRoomhaving spent untold hours in Fusion I can respect the time it takes for projects like this. At least having 3d printers at arms length makes testing your design very easy. I bought a Bambu P1S printer back on Black Friday. I’ve been endlessly running it since. My resin printer has been feeling ignored. Burning through filament like crazy.
This is looking really great... the amount of detail is inspiring and when you see it attached to the other diorama you really get a sense for how immersive the pit is going to be. Can't wait to see what's next.

Another great video! Giving me lots of ideas for projects to add custom touches to our new house and especially my office, man. The brass "bottles" -- are those just standoffs for electronics?
@TheSmugglersRoom
Ай бұрын
Thank you! I’m not actually sure what those brass pieces are. I purchased a box of random parts from eBay a long time back and there was a bag of these brass parts. Totally random.
For those who would be using translucent paint, spray all your parts with a white undercoat to bring the colors out. In this case you can see it wasn't needed, but you never know when bright colors are required. I assume you were using resin to glue the pieces together? Or was it just a thick CA glue?

Great advice! Yep, epoxy resin.
Resin printing can be tough for everyone, but my advice is, get a semiflex resin, learn how to use it, you will never regret, it won't break easy, some resin brands smells better, super versatile!

When selecting paint and graphics for the miniature diorama's do you try to develop the characters and determine what part of the galaxy, they're from to create a more detailed environment or do you just dive in and through caution to the wind and just let the imagination flow. Without going cerebral and complex, just keep it simple. Either way it's all about the fun of building something out of nothing.
@TheSmugglersRoom

It’s actually somewhere in the middle. I’m actually developing a bit of a story behind the world I’m developing here. At the same time I’m letting my imagination wander and inspiration take hold. So yep, both is fair 😉

So now you have scale model when are you doing the 1:1 model, And you can display the scale diorama on the back of the bar. Make sure you video telling your spouse if she hurts you it evidence. Matter of fact that bar would make a nice head board in the bed room! I’m a bad bad influence but it would keep with your theme of the smugglers room… and if she were to murder you think of the views you would get…I’m a bad influencer but think of it your first 10,000,000 views! Take one for Star Wars, wonder how many views you could get if she slipped you a Mickie and dressed you up as Princess Leia… Oh my I’m not sure Disney would approve they may spend in the storm troopers

So a maker that has 3D design skills to create something from their mind, and then uses a 3D printer to give it physical form, or a maker using their creative talents to design something in two dimensions and then uses another tool such as the laser to bring that creativity to life . . . Is borning? Interesting. I guess by that thought process table saws and routers have made woodworking KZreadrs boring as well? Yeah, I think I’ll kindly disagree with you. It thanks for the view!

I'm with Brian on this one. I own a laser cutter and two 3D printers. I'm still new to 3D printing and haven't started designing my own stuff yet, but designing for the laser cutter takes a good amount of time and creativity on how to make it work. This is not a case of letting a machine do the work for you by any means. If a person is doing the design on a laser cutter, CNC router or 3D printer, that person is just as vested as if creating it from your own bare hands. They're just modern tools for a modern age.
